>you need to grind levels again as you gain new job classes if you want to switch builds
Did boomers really think this was a good game design? What is it with these old gamers and their addiction to grinding

I liked it, but I also liked ff5.
>>
>the game knows grinding is shit so it adds secret bosses to help with it

Just get the egg, anon. Get the egg, get a Summoner and just keep nuking the line until you're satisfied

I didn't mind it while going through the campaign, it added some nice challenge, but I hated how I had to grind it in the endgame, even if it didn't take THAT long.

Yeah, unc games were all about grinding. Just emulate and cheat
>>

It was designed around abilink feature where only a couple of your friends needed to grind.
>>
>the game has adjustable grinding
LMAO

It was a different time. Games only needed to be a little more fun than watching grass grow, which was our only alternative.

When I played the remaster it really made me miss the QoL added by Second.

go kys and fuck off to another genre of games faggot.

Fuck off nigger, put the battles in X4 speed and spam brave, even if with shitty builds you can decimate everything in first turn. Grinding is a non issue in BD. If anything regular ass jrpgs are more grindy.

Grind isn't an issue for me. Random battles with a stupidly high encounter rate are. How's this game for rng encounters?
>>
>go through the game like a breeze, regular mobs are piss easy
>encounter boss A
>significantly harder, one shots the entire party
>go back to mobs, apparently you needed to grind them
>grind grind grind
>fight boss A again
>it gives you a class
>the grind for the class again
>go through the game like a breeze, regular mobs are piss easy
>encounter boss B
>...
10/10

So how did the remaster handle the online/street pass stuff from the 3ds version?
>>
>unlock Arcanist
>insta kill mobs with poison > exterminate
>level up points
wow so hard
>>
>just unlock the end game class you get after grinding bro
wow so easy

Dragon Quest has a tyrranical hold on the genre. Designers know it was time to ditch the old horse years ago but they still have to pay tribute to the wrathful ancient God so they include dumb grindy things from Dragon Quest but then add ways to let you bypass them. If you've ever played Morrowind there's a series of quests where you have to go on obligatory religious pilgrimages to different shrines that all tell a story about how the pilgrimage came about.
>this guy crawled on his hands and knees like a pack animal for 3 months and to honor this go to the shrine
Then you get there and you get there and the shrine just says
>lol just leave 50 gold and you can have your blessing bro
It's like that, but an entire genre of games.

I just use cheat engine to give new jobs the same or a little less XP than the job i am currently playing.
I dont care if some people think its cheating and makes the game easy.
I dont consider wasting time effortlessly Killing trash mobs to level as Difficulty if anything the fact i skip grind makes me less likely to over-level my base level.
None if the bosses i fought on the 3DS version ware pushovers i could steamroll over.

You can set the encounter rate to 0% to 200% in the options at anytime.

I like grinding though (sometimes)
