Anomaly is fine, don't listen to the autists. the one thing you should know about it, is that it's the Skyrim of Stalker. it was built with addons in mind and you'll have to either play it vanilla (aka bare bones), create your own mod list, or trust some other autist and play his mod list (Gamma). here's the addon page:

GAMMA is huge in size, I'd say try ZONA before as it's smaller.

Try a default settings run first before messing with the config (there's a lot of things to change) and just adjust difficulty to what you want.
