I used really generic usernames when I posted on Pokemon fansite guestbooks and forums as a wee lad back in the early '00s (Finnish, so ahead on the Internet adoption curve compared to most). Then one day I decided I wanted a cooler one so I looked around at what was on the computer desk and saw an item with an exotic word on it.No, you probably will not guess what it was, and I'm not half-doxxing myself.
In the decades since I have come around once again to think the name I picked is kinda uncool, but I've also come to embrace the cringe.

old nickname. I didn't much care for it, it was unique enough so I kept using it because I could reasonably assured no else was using it. Frankly it is nice to not have any numbers in a user name.
I didn't properly manage my security properly. Got locked out of some accounts. The ones I still had access to got caught database leaks. I purged them all, I'm hoping the ones I'm locked out of got deleted due to inactivity. I replaced it with half assed combining two words together a math term and another deliberately misspelled that reflected my mindset at the time. Even though I'm retarded and can't do math to save my life.

My first name starts with an X, so I found that to be cool to put it in my tag when I was 12. I still do it at age 37, but it became sort of an injoke at this point, so its a really dumb name.
I just go by my first name on Switch because I think it has its charm in wholesome games
