>capitalism, enterprise, industry and greed ruined the world
>But Mr. House built his empire both past and present on capitalism, enterprise, industry and greed
Why would anyone be dumb enough to trust the words of a rich person on anything? I mean for fuck's sake /v/ claims to be the epicentre of logic and intelligence but you're getting duped by snake oil salesman...

It helps the NCR in the long run to have a Mojave jointly controlled by House and some NCR troopers (House ending), because they are currently overextended and their political situation is cracking under the pressure.

My preferred ending is Good Karma House. I just have to make sure I don't get the Kings to befriend the NCR, and then everyone comes out of the deal better off than what they started with. Except those that get run over, but to hell with them really. The BoS were morons, that was a mercy kill. I have always hated the Khans. And the Legion can fuck off, I don't like slavers especially jumped up tribal slavers in a personality cult.
Robert House may have terrible people skills, but he's a competent enough executive and he has actual plans beyond conquest and eternal expansion, and in good karma at least he's not a corrupt and utterly amoral dipshit. Having someone making the decisions that isn't seeking power for power's sake and actually wants to accomplish something more than an ego trip is by far the most sensible choice.
In before
>House always only cared about his own ego and nothing else
I don't believe that. At least not in the sense that he values glory and acclaim. He just wants to play Sim City post apocalypse, I want him to succeed at that, our goals align.

I've played the game so many times I usually just go Yes Man now and make up my own ending. otherwise I think NCR is probably the best despite their shortcomings because california as a developed region is pretty nice IIRC, and I don't trust House to actually develop the area to make things better for the average citizen.

Independent is the best ending because it's the most thematically fitting ending for New Vegas. Other than war never changing, the central theme of New Vegas is this dialectic between the old world and the new world. Most groups in this game obsess over either the old world or something in their past that they refuse to let go.
>Kings are LARPing as Elvis, something from the old world.
>White Gloves still can't let go of their cannibal past.
>Omertas were once the "Slither-Kin" and are still being traitorous snakes in the present.
>Khans are obsessed over Bitter Springs Massacre
>House, Caesar, and the NCR are all obsessed with the old world to varying degrees
>Honest Heart's entire plot revolves around Graham's guilt and grief over what he did as Legate and what the White Legs did to his family, he can't let go
>Dead Money is literally "begin again, let go", everyone at the casino is obsessed with this dead old world casino.
>Old World Blues is literally in the name, you have a scientist still obsessed over his high school bully
>Lonesome Road has Ulysses obsessed over things in his past and what happened at the Divide.
>Everyone is obsessing over the Dam, a symbol of the old world.
>Brotherhood can't let go of what happened at Helios One
Benny, who is the guy that sets all of this in motion in the first place, stands out from the other casino families. The Boot-Riders were nomads, and the Chieftain refused to join House. Benny disagreed and dueled the Chieftain, killed him, and took his place. Then he took the Boot-Riders into a new direction, no longer being nomadic, moving into the new world. That's why Benny wants to kill House, because House is too stuck in the past. Of course the Chairmen are still oozing old world style thanks to House, but it's a close example of someone in New Vegas stepping into and embracing the new world. The Independent ending is the only ending lets you bring the Mojave into the present new world. Begin again, let go.

Of course, it's imperfect. Because this "new beginning" is just simply regurgitating old world tropes. But what I'm getting at here is Benny shows a willingness to abandon the past and begin again, he is one of the few that let go. Independent ending isn't perfect, people still cling onto old world myths, but it's a good first step towards something new that hasn't been tried before.
