The story really doesn't have much in the way of stakes anymore.
I don't know exactly who is so insistent on killing off all of the more interesting characters on their dev team, but they're retarded.
Sawyer should have never been brought back, even if he was killed off too unceremoniously in the first place.
Lily shouldn't have been killed off either.
The "story" doesn't really feel like its heading anywhere, even if it had some legs to stand on at first.
This whole IP is turning into wasted potential.

It shows that as writers/creatives they can and will undo the deaths of characters, meaning any character can come back from the dead.
Thus my statement on the story now having no stakes.
Every past Villain character *implied* to have died has the potential to return, and because the series is very clearly greed and merch sale driven that means that every popular character will likely return at some point, determined by volume of merch sales.

The devs recently did an interview with the BBC. They addressed that complaint by saying they plan to change how characters are handled. Markiplier calling out their waste of characters was what finally broke the camel's back. However, they should have learned from the reaction to Pianosaurus.

In fairness, the Doctor is a special case where he is a built into the digital network. He even said that destroying his organs is accomplishing nothing and that he hid himself deep down so that no one can find him. It's not unreasonable to assume that he can come back via backup save. Every other antagonist we faced died and never came back (Mommy, Catnap, Miss Delight, Yarneby, Doey, etc.) because they are organic beings and we've seen them die. The only one that came back was Huggy because his "death" was ambiguous. So, to say that there are no stakes is wrong. Giblet, Chum and even Poppy can still die and they're our only allies left.
