If you consider that Nightreign was just a easly cobbled assetflip, with a budget probably around 1-5 $ mil, than fromsoft got crazy gains with so little effort.

Even FS was shocked how many players played NR and liked it. I suspect that they simply beta tested some functions for DB with NR without even dreaming about having so much positive feedback and endorsement.

Even I was sceptical at frist, especially if you already had some souls fatigue.

Now it´s, at least for me, that every few months I´m coming back to NR and if DB will be a spiritual successor to NR, and ofc it will release some time later for the superior system, I´ll probably play it for even more hours than i already spend in NR.
