I think that the VII Remake has proven that Square Enix lost the "break in case of emergency" quality of VII. Just look at Rebirth. It sold so poorly that they still wont say anything about it. Nomura fucked up VII so badly that the break-in-case didn't even work.

So not only does XIV already have a bunch of VII stuff in it including the Weapons, but at this point I think shoving more VII into XIV would be a "break in case of emergency" for the VII Remake trilogy, not for XIV.

But they wont say anything at all about Rebirth. By all third party accounts, Rebirth sold fewer copies than XVI, and Rebirth also had over twice the budget that XVI had. So Square Enix already squandered VII's "break in case of emergency" quality, and instead if/when they add more VII shit to XIV, I genuinely think it will be a "break in case of emergency", but for VIIR, to try to get XIV players to buy it since no one else is.
