Reminder for Star Trek Online fags in Euro hours that today is the last day to grind the First Contact Event for free for 20 days to get T6 Noble Intel Battlecruiser. The daily is easy as shit since you're building a rocket for 5 min.

Star Trek Online is pleased to once again invite you to join us for the First Contact Day Celebration starting on PC and Console on April 7th at 8am PT and continuing until May 7th at 12pm PT.

Exactly 20 days, but you must do all 20 days from here on out, and the final day is on May 7th, at noon pacific which is 4 hours from now. Otherwise, you might have to buy out one day.

Haven't played in years. Tried to get back into it a few months ago, but seeing how far powercrept my ship was by several tiers and my buttons getting all rearranged made me quickly uninstall. Thanks for reminding me of the good times though.

Yes but this is assuming if this person could abuse that 20 hr limit. But I am assuming that anyone starting the event now is only logging in at the same time every day.

Its building a Rocket TFO. A level 10 could do it without any problem and it only take like 5 min.

Both /vm/ and /vg/ show zero results for Star Trek. You might be able to convince the MMOdventure thread to add STO to the pool, if they haven't already done it, but they'll only stick with it for like 2 weeks or whatever.

Cryptic MMOs aren't really mmos I would recommend for /vm/ to play together with.
>STO
Star Trek Online really focus on solo play for leveling up. There isn't an instance where anons could group up and play together, and the TFO aren't really ideal for leveling characters. At best, they all join fed and just hang out in space with a T1-T4 ship.
>CO
Archetype classes are not newbie friendly in general and are a pain in the ass to use in GRAB mission aka the only proper leveling mission. There are open world mission in the game, but they don't give out as much exp as GRAB. Low level Archetype in a GRAB is so miserable to play with. There isn't much exploring either and everyone just afk in Detroit.
>NWO
Probably the most multiplayer friendly of the bunch but that isn't saying much.

Its kind of sad that the best game they had was a shooter in the 00s and the most talk about is STO. Every other Star Trek game is either too old, too gimmicky, or just plain bad.

Story is solo. TFO is automated party making group content that you do not have to talk with other trekkies unless its an Elite content that require coordination. Fleet is the only source of certain good gears and Fleet exclusive ships but you could always ask the NoP Public Service chat (you have to add it to your chat) for an invite, get the stuff, and leave. But most players just play STO for the story line.
Eventwise, The TFO daily is Rocket Building that takes 5 mins. If anything, you're competing other players (if they're not AFKing) for the pile. You have to do the daily starting now or you end up having to buy out for one day

Shame what happened to Stage 9, they had to shut it down due to a Cease & Desist from CBS, fucking assholes

I played 'solo' and did just fine. PvP was (probably still is) very much in favor of tanks over dps or support/debuffers. Never lost a 1v1 duel because I simply had more EHP than any fully otpimized dps could hope to break. I remember going into a battleground and it took 4-6 other players about 4 minutes of non-stop combat to kill me once, and I killed 2 or 3 of them in the process without any backup.

Yeah, at the start, you're limited to the ship your faction could fly. When a Klingon align race like the Gorn get to max level, they unlock Cross Faction Flying, which allow them to fly any ship without restriction and vice versa with Fed characters. Certain alien races has ship theme base on their race, and sadly, the Gorn best ship, the Gorn Hunter, is a lockbox ship.

ahh I see I see, thanks for the information!
Cool ship, wonder how long it'd take to grind the muns to buy it off the AH if there are any on there.
i'll just go watch some vids on it and continue to wonder if I should boot up or not

People just do the event campign to get those ship for free. They have to do multiple events to add up to 4200 points to get that reward.

Regardless, if you want the ship in the OP, you get to level 10 right now and do the event here. >>737122852 . Otherwise just take your time and do the story only. Dont bother putting money into the game unless you really into the gameplay and endgame.
