RE1 and RE3 are both better games. I like RE2, but it's way too easy, probably the easiest mainline RE game. You're showered with ammo and none of the enemies will give you real trouble. The police station is just a smaller and simpler version of the mansion from RE1 anyway.

RE2 is the best on first playthrough, but replayability goes to RE3

I kinda feel like the remake has made it obsolete. Running around the RPD being chased by mister X is such a vibe.

Both are good games but RE2 is more linear and there are no optional paths and random events. At least RE3 is a little bit more mysterious and you can mix different ammo and stuff.

I remember being extremely disappointed when I got RE3 for the gamecube just to realize it was the ps1 version with a huge vignette for some reason.
