I just think getting all your stats doubled when you're the only unit left is cool, and they looked great too
D2 didn't have anything like that, 5 has the sages which at least have the "try to hit everything on the map at once" attack, but it's just not the same

They need to be the single last deployable unit, if every other character you have is already dead when you start then it'll apply the boost just the same
I remember playing out a plotline in my head with my Majin hiding his true power or something and only revealing it and transforming as a last resort, it was fun
