This effectively kills gaming. The industry is not sustainable on $1k consoles and $2.5k PCs.

*blocks you're path*
>magic box the size of a soda can that plays all those retro classics with perfect hardware accuracy
>identical video latency and audio latency to original hardware
>supports OEM controllers or any USB controller in existence with zero additional lag
>works perfectly headache-free on either CRT or 4k TV with zero additional lag
>one shared hardware configuration + update_all script means you never have to worry about issues specific to your setup, and never have to tinker with specific builds or settings. Just run update_all script and it just works perfectly for everyone
>all this prebuilt and plug and play for under $200
I am very much content.

My schizo theory is they're going to lower it a bit but never to the original point. The old trick of make something really horrible, then when people complain back off a bit and pretend like you listened but you always intended to keep it around that point.

Consoles back then lived on their licenses. They made a loss on the console but if you did buy 3 games they got into the +
I don't trust PC prices. Oh you want a car? how about that porsche or jaguar? What? That's just normal car prices and while we are at it want to buy a bridge?
>>

how does it feel to lose, luddites?
no matter how much you cry and screech AI has already become ubiquitous and will only keep saturating every aspect of life and society in the coming decades
you lost absolutely and completely

youre right its not sustainable if those people win
so why are sony and the other corporations going along with it.
i wouldnt.
theyre just telling people that theyll keep them around and they wont
why would technofacist transhumanists want to share power?

No lmao, this shit does maybe up to 5th gen. PS3 and Xbox 360 emulation still isn't perfect, no FPGA device is available that can do those consoles. If you want to emulate PS3 games you need a relatively recent/decent CPU, especially one with AVX-512.
But what that poser won't tell you is, and you can see it in his image, the MiSTER Pi is sold out everywhere you look, not exactly a good option when you can't even buy the thing.
>>
>>737126951
The hard cap on FPGA hardware emulation is probably dreamcast, since any generation afterwards would require an obscene amount of logic elements, and that'd make the price of the FPGA chip prohibitively expensive. Maybe in 20 years we'll have perfect hardware emulation of the PS2, but by that point the PS2 would be an Atari 2600-tier relic that is easily emulatable via software on scientific calculators and disposable pregnancy tests.

I think everyone who hates I mainly because of how it affects art and entertainment is an absolute retard who shouldn’t be allowed to vote. How people use AI is terrible and voicing your disdain by complaining how it’s taking away the jobs of artists or are ruining your bread and circuses makes you sound like a goy
The affects of AI go far beyond just entertainment and your quirky art hobbies
>Is used by jeets and SEAmonkeys to generate slop that’s frying the minds and shortening the attention span of our youngest generation
>Is abused by our students and stops them from actually understanding their classwork and will ultimately make them a generation of retards incapable of writing or doing math without AI
>Will make numerous fields of work obsolete, not because it’s superior to a human, but because it’s acceptable to the low standards of shareholders and will lower the quality of products
>Is ushering us in an age where we won’t be able to tell what is and isn’t real
>Will be used to generate videos of political violence and war crimes to sway elections and military action
>Genuine video footage of politicians and the wealthy elite having sex with children will be dismissed as AI and whistleblowers will be charged with producing AI child porn
>Those problematic to the state and influential corporations will be framed, trialed and punished based on fake AI generated evidence of them having sex with kids

All of this is repeated every generation
>yadda yadda the xbox and vidya is shortening the attention span of new generations
>yadda yadda no one will learn because they can play runescape
>omg what if the elections get swayed by satanic d&d players
>let's ignore that people are their own person, we can't let [thing] sway them
>the mere existence of GTA will cause violence and I don't like GTA so it shouldn't exist
luddites are the same as wokes. They're no different than people who tried to censor video games in the past but now their target is chatbots. I don't like it personally, so some harmless activity's got to be censored or people won't think on their own and you think on your own when I censor new thing. The idea and talking points is the same.

Normal consumers are not going to pay sustainable prices.
Companies are all in for now but when the promised efficiency benefits will not materialize shit will come crashing down.

Devs are finally going to have to learn to optimise their shit again for low spec systems and rely on lower fidelity assets which will in turn speed up development times again. Unironically gaming is saved.
>>
>>
>>737127064
It doesn't though. It hurts everyone from PC to console to mobile. You can't make any of them of you can't get your hands on any of the chips required to make them. We've been needing to scale up our production chains for over a decade now but the process has been so painfully slow because it takes more than a year just to produce the machine needed to make them.

I'm just glad these retards were so against the humanities and all that traditionally lefty shit that they forgot how to be human and now they're all insanely offputting to normies and will cause an utterly irrational backlash to AI and probably the tech sector in general for a couple decades minimum. These CEOs should genuinely be executed in a pay per view fashion to restore faith in our institutions. You can make big gambles in this country, but if you roll snake eyes you will be putting your existence on the line.

nah they will just "improve" (meddle with) the algorithm behind the scenes until it targets thought crimers and other undesirables to the system which will have, to no one's surprise, no overlap with actual criminals that should be removed from society

>This effectively kills gaming
I've been having more fun and found more use out of AI than I have with modern gaming. I also genuinely don't care about Project Helix, PS6 or the Switch 2 at this point and none of the "directs" or "showcases" had excited me for years. Genuinely, I expect Forza 6 is going to end up being the last "big" game I'll even consider for a long time and even then you don't need that strong of a PC to run it. Also, since the PC I do have is already good enough for me (and was good enough before the RAM prices jumped) I really can just stop where I am and be good. I already don't buy many games anymore except maybe 1 or 2 a year if that now.
