Nioh 1's story was more memorable than 2 and 3 Anonymous 04/17/26(Fri)18:40:39 No.737130659 [Reply]▶

The story just felt more like I could connect with it and it felt enjoyable playing through Willian.
2 and 3 I couldn't give a fuck about, just felt like I was playing the game just for the 'gameplay'.
Nioh 1, it felt like I could care more about the story

I like the story of Nioh 1 and 2 mostly due to the setting, it's impossible to fuck up Sengoku jidai. The spirit stone dilemma blends in kinda well except for the fact that the only parties that use them indiscriminately are the ones that historically lose, it's pretty comedic.
Anyway I'm liking Nioh 2 a lot, maybe because of Switchglaive. I played Kusa in Nioh 1 and I liked it but I felt like stance change didn't really come into play besides for dodging, being able to fluidly change into any stance unironically changes the game. Just one thing, I'm about mid game and I do very little damage to Yokai, something that was just early game in Nioh 1. Is Glaive underpowered, or does it require a specific build? Does it turn around with Wildfire flux? Honestly I've not been using Cyclone so that might be the issue, also lately I've been using elemental + carnage talisman + shockwave (strong attacks release a projectile) + weakness talisman and i melt most enemies. I just need power pill l, good scaling on weapon and armor build to destroy everything in 30 seconds

Ive come around to the conclusion that 1>2>3.
The visual style, simplicity, high enemy damage, high player damage makes it so much more engaging for me personally. 2 is only a fraction less enjoyable and 3 is a stark downgrade imo.

I remember witht he glaive just mostly using the transform attacks + the low kicks and mid pole jab for ki dmg and having a pretty easy time
