>"I'm your basic average girl."
>lives in a mansion in the West Coast
>mom is a neurosurgeon, dad works for NASA
>smart, popular, hot and has the vying affection of almost every guy in the entire school
>is more athletic and stronger than Olympic gymnasts or metahuman superheroes and villains
>is one of the most trusted people on the planet by spy agencies or government officials who also hand her grants and scholarships

I haven't watched that show in almost 20 years but isn't the point is that it's ironic? Like she doesn't realize how much she got?
if anything the average person is her sidekick. Outside of his weird mole pet

The point is that she has to do all this extreme stuff, but still has to deal with normal teen life. Same concept as Cody Banks, Hannah Montanna, That's so Raven, yada yada.

The whole point was to relate to the problems of kids growing up then. Sitcom cartoons were dying out in favor of action oriented animation and currently, action cartoons with teen protagonists aren't common anymore. If it wasn't KP it was American Dragon, Danny Phantom, Teen Titans, Spectacular Spider-Man, Ben 10, Avatar the Last Airbender or X-Men Evolution.
