"Indie" games are getting day-one DLC now. Not even just cosmetic stuff, either, it's "Story DLC #1."

Not indie.

Indie slop has been coasting on the goodwill of players for a while now because "at least it's not AAA" but it's going to have to fix a lot of things wrong with the indie scene because more and more people are noticing shit wrong with how indie games are all the same now and there is very little creativity going on in the indie scene.

There is also a huge quality issue in the indie scene. You being one man or a small team is no excuse not to do the best you can to polish your work. Have some fucking pride in your work to the best of your ability.

That said, the OP image is not an indie game, is it?

No. People assumed it was indie because of the style, so said people call it indie. Then other people hear them call it indie, so those people also call it indie.
The developer and publisher have never called it indie.
Indie also doesn't mean anything nowadays.
Supergiant Games (Hades) is considered indie even though the studio is firmly in the AA tier nowadays.
People call a game indie if it looks/"feels" indie. Facts are meaningless in the face of idiot masses.

I was very interested because of the art and animation regardless of some obvious furfaggotry until it showed it was just boomer shooter slop
