Compared to Gen 1 this is genuinely nothing though
Even the Bicycle shop text is fucked, talking to the shopkeeper permanently makes text instant because they forgot to code a removal of the flag they used for the specific text bubble of the bicycle's price

The ?????????? is just a placeholder in pokemon slot 0 that basically is the default to prevent the game from outright crashing if it can't load something
Usually you'd only see it if you're fucking around with an action replay not just from a regular ingame glitch though
