I just don't see the point in "young Bond".
He's never been much of a character, it's not like anyone was going "Oh, I wonder what happened in his younger years?"
He's just a great spy, using gadgets, fucking women, etc. We don't really gain anything from playing as young Bond, other than the knowledge that he definitely won't die during the game. It'd be much more interesting to play as another 00 agent, or if they made their own setting. But I guess it's all about brand recognition.

It's more like they each take place in their own universe like Final Fantasy or whatever. You're not meant to believe Craig's Bond exists in the same timeline as Brosnan or whatever. 007 is the codename, James Bond is very much his real name. Hell, M's real name in the Pierce Brosnan movies is Barbara Mawdsley while in the Craig ones it's Olivia Mansfield.

That's more or less the point. 007 is a fairly empty vessel. The stories rarely deal with his personal life or beliefs, it's just about watching him do cool shit.
Which is completely fine. But it does make the whole "here he is as a young man, on his first mission" premise feel lackluster.

They're all implied to be the same guy until Daniel Craig movies. At the very least, it's the same James Bond up to License to Kill, which references Bond being a widow, a thing from On Her Majesty's Secret Service.

i unironically don't want young boy james bond ever. 35 minimum, maybe even 40. connery was 31, but that's back when 17 year olds looked like men.

Niggers, other brownskins and gen alpha have an issue with basic literacy. Lowest literacy rates since the late 80s/90s with only 30% of 4th graders in the US reading at a proficient level. What you are seeing in >>737151725 's niggerbabble is that specific effect in action.
Grim, I know.

I’m convinced that the majority of the game is cobbled together using recycled Hitman assets. It’s made in the game engine, so it likely shares all the quirks of the game too. in-engine cutscenes included.

>implied continuity
Only insofar as all Bonds share key elements in their backstories, like a deceased wife. But again, James Bond was always his real name, and 007 was always the codename, and you cannot have Brosnan Bond having been born 16 years before Tracy's death in their honeymoon. At best it's a ""fluid timeline"" where all Bonds go through similar adventures but we never see Dalton's version of Dr. No or Craig's version of Moonraker.
>>
Bond was the first character that needed to be a better man. They started modernizing him with the Brosnan movies and now we're at the point where Bond is someone that cries and has a daughter. This and the Amazon movie will both be awful.

I think there was always a general understanding that the Bond stories had very loose continuity. The novels had stronger continuity, but their story ended with You Only Live Twice and Man With The Golden Gun.
I understand IO’s decision to go for zoomer Bond, because Bond is pretty irrelevant to the modern audience. John Wick is Bond for zoomers, so they kind of have to reinvent him. A bit like how Craig’s Bond was more like Jason Bourne.

>older masculine guy is doing numbers with the kids

in order to be a ceo, do you have to be a complete fucking reptilian retard that doesn't interact with human beings?
>>
>>737152671
All you have to do is make a story about a government sanctioned hitman, who goes to investigate and kill whatever goober and goons that MI6 says to go put in the dirt. It's not that hard but from all of their marketing it looks like they missed the mark. Trying to make this about his "team" or some found family garbage.
>inb4 h-he's always had a team
In the sense that they are his coworkers and acquaintances that give him tools and intel to get shit done. Never in the sense of like "oh my God and I have to learn to be a team player"

>>737152340
>At best it's a ""fluid timeline"" where all Bonds go through similar adventures
Something like that. Until Die Another Day the idea is that all adventures happened, you just cant think much about the exact year they did. It works well enough since the movies are pretty loose with continuity until that point, but they do reference each other just enough that they're not just AUs between actors.

This sucks. The song is low energy. The visuals are aimless, a good title sequence is supposed to have a theme related to the subject matter, not just random imagery. I can't tell you anything about the game after watching it. But Goldeneye here probably has something to do with Soviet collapse, which it does.

>Craig's version of Moonraker.
I forgot to add, but the flowing timeline logic doesnt apply to Craig as his movies have a very set beggining and end that are explicitly different than previous Bonds, unless you consider 007 Legends canon, which creates the hilarious idea that ALL movies happened inbetween Quantum of Solace and Skyfall.

I was always under the impression that several years passed after quantum of solace. Basically his whole spy career. of a good 10 to `15 years if not more. You can't have him be an entry level agent in casino royale and then say by the third movie "oh you're so old and behind the new agents who are ready to replace you"
>>
>>
I was pleasantly surprised when I saw that Lana recorded the theme song, and delighted when I listened to it. She knocked it out of the park, but the again, she always does.

Skyfall exists in a weird situation where it acts as a soft reboot of the Daniel Craig era, dropping the "start of career" 007 for "old, experienced and outdated" 007. On it's own it's fine, even if doing a reboot two movies after a reboot is awkward. The problem was when SPECTRE insisted on connecting all Craig movies, meaning a hard timeline for these exist and Bond just had the most tiring career ever in between 2008 and 2012. Though i assume Quantum starts immediatly after Casino Royale so it might be 2006 to 2012.
