I think Cassia is better than Arue at being the sweet cute girl. I like the concept of Arue but I found her execution a bit boring, I would have liked more fighting against her evil instincts. When she sperged out at Baphomet's daughter I liked that a lot.
As is, it feels like you meet her when the bulk of her arc is already done, you are simply helping you in the final stretch, but she's already too good.
Cassia is a bit boring too but she gets away with it because her selling point isn't redemption of a demon.

I like Camellia but she can only be justified as an option when you play Demon or Lich or shit like that, and she's the opposite of wish fullfillment. She's fine as is, but I can't reccomend her as a great romance even if I like her because of how niche she is. Well, I thought it was overall pretty good, but as the game went on it got more and more mechanically...filled. For combat, I mean. I don't care about "romance" so I pursued none of that. The story was good, I liked how things played out, but some things kept being forced on me. Like the elf chick - at every opportunity I chose hostile actions, for the emperor, you know, really roleplay that dogmatic but I was also half iconoclastic I guess but she kept showing up over and over. Then the game bugged out during that big portal opens on hidden elf planet or something, and I had to reload a while back, and then I played on more. I got to...I think...act 4 or 5? Well past the dark elf city anyways, like a whole act past that. Then I took a break. Then that break became a few weeks. Then a month. Then I loaded it up, looked at my ability hotbar, went "what the fuck" and never played it again.

I also put the ship combat on baby easy mode since I didn't find it very fun.
