>first bedrock preview has a bug where sulfur cubes stick to ceilings and can move forever
>guy on xitter popularizes the bug by using it to make zip lines
>somewhere along the line, people claim that honey and slime blocks let sulfur cubes stick to ceilings
>can’t find any official mention of this or any sign in game besides the obvious bug
>closet thing is that honeycomb makes them “sticky”, but nothing about sticking to ceilings
>guy who made the zip lines didn’t even use honey or slime blocks but they stuck to the ceiling anyway
Has the community ever gaslit themselves this hard? Sulfur cubes don’t accept honey or slime blocks on java but do on bedrock, so many they’ll actually implement it but without the infinite movement
>>
>>563303491
To be fair, the changelog for that bedrock preview was extremely lacking in detail. It literally tells you to "Experiment and discover how to send Sulfur Cubes bouncing, sliding, and more!".
>Has the community ever gaslit themselves this hard?
They do this on a regular basis. And I wouldn't call it gaslighting, it's just myths and misinformation. Remember sand and sugar cane?

I believe he is referring to the myth that sugarcane can only be grown on sand, or that it grows faster, both of which are untrue. I can't remember what the myth was

How to save the Chaos Cubed drop? Concrete slabs and stairs. Not only would it throw the community a bone, but it would also make up for desaturating cinnabar and sulfur, and what's more chaotic than building with strong primary colors?
>>
>>
>>
>>563316148
Does anyone really care about gunpowder not being accessible in peaceful? It's already super easy to farm from creepers. But it would be nice to have a way of oxidizing blocks quickly, so that'd be a nice addition
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>563303491
It doesn't matter anyway, you can do it on java without the bug and make it even faster.
https://xcancel.com/Killo_V/status/2042028210821451870
>>
>>563325052
I mean, you can easily get a stack or two of gunpowder from a single night with looting 3. You don't need to make a farm, unless you want like an entire shulker box of TNT, so I really don't get your problem. But I also wouldn't complain if they added that recipe, I just wouldn't use it
>>
>>563333502
You don't even need the spear if you use a piston with a slime block, and build the rail out of blue ice. Or you could use a minecart instead of a cube, like what people have been doing since the lead update

Decided to post a Stonetoss comic meme based on my opinion on the current state of minecraft modding.
>>
>>563366768
>>563374809
Tbh If this meme is true then it would make sense why mobs like the armadillo and copper are the one of the only nu minecraft mods that are actually useful and why they are a big deal compared to sniffers and creakings which are total wasted potential.
>>
>>

Why the fuck haven't strongholds been updated since they were first added? They still use smooth stone slabs and cobble stairs because the stone brick variants didn't exist back then. The loot and layout and the actual building sucks ass.

friends roped me into playing bedrock somehow after 10+ years of not touching it
so yeah let'sbedrock
gonna turn the black lodge into my base. I'll make the main two rooms pretty much 1:1 to the show and then chuck the rest behind another 'curtain'
my question for you fags is how do I make look a bit more organic looking without devolving into block vomit? is it even really possible? i'm probably going to swap out the black terracotta for brown once I get to a jungle for brown dye, I think that matches the actual floor of the lodge better

A new block called Sprayer! (or whatever you want it to be called, it doesn't matter)
>place a cauldron
>fill it with any potion
>put a campfire beneath it
>wait for it to start boiling
>put the Sprayer on top of it
>it now creates an aerosol cloud of that potion, applying 2s of its effect onto anything that enters the cloud, refreshing every second
>soulfire campfire either makes larger clouds or allows for effect to linger for longer
This way you can have a potion's effect on you infinitely, but you can't just arbitrarily exploit it because it requires some time and setup to get working. Plus whatever potion you put there applies to every single entity in the cloud, including hostile ones, so you'll have to factor that in too if you want to use it for combat
>but isn't this just beacon but with potions?
Beacons are shit, they are needlessly expensive and obtuse. Whereas my suggested method is very intuitive, accessible enough to be practical, and you don't need to read the wiki to understand it
y/n?
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>563602262
>Beacons are shit, they are needlessly expensive and obtuse.
Beacons should be expensive. Having a never-ending potion effect is a broken ability and should not be easily accessible
>Whereas my suggested method is very intuitive
Do you really believe players will know to right click a cauldron with a potion, place a campfire under it, and then place your new block on top without either someone telling them that's how it works or looking it up on the wiki. That's not an intuitive solution at all. Also, beacons already tell you how they work in their GUI. They aren't obtuse at all
>>

>Sulfur Cube mob - Can no longer be picked up by Boats
I kind of expected something more on the cum-cube front than this. Maybe next week...
>>563602380
At least it makes the biome look way better, but it makes me question if they added it in a panic because people were complaining? Otherwise, why wasn't it part of the Live?
>>
>>
>>563601784
You really only have three ways of making a build better: texture (not necessarily block vomit), depth, and detail. Alternating red wool with another block might give the curtains a more wavy feel, but I'm not sure there is another block that would fit. If you used a block with walls instead of wool, you could alternate full blocks and wall to create that same wavy depth. Maybe red nether brick? Could work if it's dimly lit. You also can't add much detail since the Black Lodge is purposefully sparely decorated, but then maybe you can get away with flat walls specifically for that reason. Just add two couches and a lamp in the corner and see how it looks in practice
>>
brainlet here. How does it work inviting people to your home world? Do i have to set up a server or tick a box or something? I've had this game for years and never really understood how people find servers without a browser. You have to have an IP to connect right?
>>
>>563603212
Nah, they definitely have something more to show. There's still like 5-6 weeks of snapshots, and they can't just be tweaking the block textures and working on the cube for all that time. But the spikes could still be a "oh shit, no-one likes the new biomes, can we fix this somehow?"
>>
>>
>>563603564
The spikes are just copypasted existing blocks with a couple new interactions, this took less than 1 full workday's worth of work. If they were planning to add them all along then they wouldn't postpone it like that, something this easy would definitely have been in the initial reveal. It's 100% damage control, they fully expected the cumslime alone to singlehandedly carry the entire update
>>
>>
>>563604763
But the baby mobs were at least spread out over the full snapshot phase. We've already seen everything the Live had to offer (and more), and I don't think they'd want several successive snapshots with basically empty patch notes
>>563606062
Yeah, that's exactly why it made me curious. I'd love to be a fly on the wall in Mojang's office
>>
A nitpick but I really dislike how they've basically adopted the word "cube" for slime-like mobs (the actual slime will almost certainly be renamed to "slime cube" too)
It's just so... so uninspired and generic? That's like if they'd called Husks "Desert Zombie". Couldn't they have come up with something more creative?

Blame the magma cube, I guess? That's when it started, 15 years ago. Not that "sulfur slime" would have been much better, but then I don't get the sulfur theming in the first place. It would have been much cooler if it had been ball made from latex from rubber trees. Craft a tap, attach it to a tree, wait a while, and then harvest with a bucket. Maybe even have a cauldron below the tap and have it fill up slowly over time, just like lava under dripstone?
On another note: turns out looking up "latex cube" gives some interesting results
>>
>>
>>
>>563608482
I did, and all I found was actual latex bed. Though I think I know what you're referring to
>>563609157
It seems like it would either be thoroughly meditative or horrifically panic inducing, with no middle ground

The biome looks better now but it still feels like it's missing something. Since it's just a recolor of the dripstone caves still
>>
>>
>>563621760
Wither Skeletons are too different from normal skeletons, they are actually closer to zombies, and I don't mind them being a direct upgrade to the zombie because they are meant to be higher tier enemies and they spawn in places that are meant to be higher danger
My point was that stray, bogged and parched were all meant to be sidegrades of normal skeletons (even the way the game handles their spawning is to first spawn a normal skeleton and then randomly swap it into a sidegrade), which implies them all being of comparable strength - except the stray is somehow strictly better than all three of its counterparts for no discernible reason
>When are we getting Creeper variants?
I'm afraid the only change we'll ever see to the creeper is it getting either heavily nerfed or outright removed from the game at large (maybe relegated to some obscure biome)

Idk what u mean I tried to sleep the first time I went in and blew up lol. I thought that was only the nether u can't sleep.
I've played this game off and on with different mods for years but I always felt like I was skipping a step having not beaten vanilla. The game has way more content now in vanilla, it really surprised me how much QoL they added that still requires autism. I've watched hundreds of hours of this game but actually doing it was harder than expected.
I did use creative flight sparingly for finding a few things including the nether stronghold and the ender portal. I set up villager trading and a few farms. I would like to see a copper golem sorting system in action but idk vanilla is pretty grindy.

>>
>>
>>
>>563654775
Because I want to play vanilla. I want the features to be supported by the game itself, and not a mod that may or may not be updated for the new versions of the game. Create is currently stuck on 1.21.1, and I want to be able to play 26.1
>>
>>563628638
He's not even talking about overhauling the end. It's just about playing with new world-gen features and he happened to pick the end for his experiments. But yeah, that's not how I want the end update to look. End biomes should be small oases spread out in a desolate landscape, not a full-on nether-update-styled takeover

>>
>>563603517
On java edition? Yeah, you have to set up a server or use a server host, free or paid, or the official one, Realms, which has a free trial. You can also just use a mod like e4mc, that should be easier.
>>
>>
>>563628638
I'm not saying his proposals are great or anything but the current
>spooky and desolate landscape
isn't exactly fascinating stuff either and the End could definitely use some expansion. There's a reason why you only ever go to the end to get elytra and then forget it exists, it's because it's fucking empty and boring and there's literally nothing to do there
>but it's supposed to be like that!
Why? What exactly forbids it from not being a boring empty wasteland? Notch originally added the End because people were pestering him to add a proper "ending" (to an otherwise completely goal-less game) and he never put much effort into it, doesn't mean it must forever stay that way
>>
>>563673732
>What exactly forbids it from not being a boring empty wasteland?
That leaked internal lore book from a few years ago said that The End supposed to have originally been a dimension full of life similar to the overworld, but it was destroyed over millions of years by the Endermen removing all blocks but the Endstone, which they couldn't pick up.
>>
>>563674963
I don't think that stuff is still relevant. They even have new people in charge of the game now, and I'm pretty sure an end update would be a good PR move if nothing else - especially when you consider how much people loved the nether update. It will happen, we just don't know when. It might be the next big update after Vibrant Visuals, meaning it's still years away
>>
>>563674963
That honestly sounds more like post-factual justification than the original design that was later implemented into the game. A convenient excuse to keep being lazy fucks and avoid working on the End
I mean it's established that Endermen are native to End, why exactly would they just destroy their world? And where are all the blocks they've taken, did they fucking pawn them or what?
>>
>>
>>563401446
>the sulfur ball texture is now used for the sulfur cube's particles, like how slimes use the slime ball texture for particles
Lets hope that's not the only reason that texture exists. It would also look better for slimes to use the slime block texture or their own texture for particles, but they doubled down with this.

The concept art I originally posted in >>563683627? It's from the 2021 Minecraft Live. Here's a link with the timestamp: https://youtu.be/w6zLprHHZOk?t=7788

But where's the censored version?

I don't think the censored version is from Mojang; it's likely a fan edit that removed the features Mojang removed from the wild update (i.e. the birch-forest update and the fireflies). My point was that Mojang doubled down on their bullshit excuses for removing those features. I never claimed that an image that wasn't even in my original post was official

We need mirrors in Minecraft

they really should have just added the bracket fungi and made it similar to how pink petals and leaf litter works, starts off with one small piece, then gets bigger with more parts added. give it a hit box as well so you can use it for parkour

But this image that was spread around really makes it look like it's implying they censored it.
Anyway, it is just concept art, that's what concept artists do, they shit out a bunch of random crap that looks cool and the devs take inspiration from it. People got hung up on the birch forest but there's a bunch of other cool stuff that's just in concept art you don't see anyone complain about. They did announce the fireflies, but they listened and we ended up getting them anyway, so does it even matter anymore?
