Why do so many people blame Faf for EO2U's bosses getting more HP when the game just has higher damage in general? It also doesnt help that 2DS tried to overcompensate for 1 by having lower HP values, higher defenses and more resists.

fafnir is powerful yes but he's designed for the story party which consists of only him as the main damage dealer. flavio and chloe can deal respectable damage but they can't do it at all times (flavio needs dodge for hazy arrow and chloe needs ailment for ailing slash).
i think the real reason for hp bloat is the new grimoire system letting you have level 20 skills.

Link Order I/II are very strong in 2U. In fact, if you use her purely as a buff slut you're just wasting her potential. The actual problem with 2U's story party is that people get baited into thinking that Faf needs to do all the work but in reality its a team effort until very late into the game.

ailments suck donkey dick due to RNG. sure the flame demon is weak to poison but sometimes you need to spend 3+ turns trying to land it. and the fucked up part is the ailment can only last for 2 turns. give chloe some link order grimoires and/or debuffing grimoires. so much sweeping can be done with two link order 2 grimoires blasting away and since they get turn priority and flavios innate speed + the very plentiful agi gear + giving him a speed up grimoire (charged shots activate quicker) or using a standard elemental round to trigger the link orders

Just raise his Agi/Luck (like you were already going to do) and remember to learn stuff like Curb Attack Up and so on. Blind Food on Survivalist Flavio is really strong too. Fafnir can double trigger Link Order (II) by himself.
