Fair, but I'd still like to do it this way because it gives me greater freedom with what I'm able to do.
I do understand your idea of things being vaguely declared half-states though, which is kinda what I've been trying to prune out. Ambiguity and all that shit that completely breaks a system.

I wish i was more like Cris.
I wish i could look at my garbage and be happy no matter how bad it is and see beauty in the scribbles.
But i dont.
I hate everything i make.
Its all awful.
And im awful.
Im trash at everything i do.
I will never make anything good.
I am destined to be a worthless waste of air for the rest of my life.

You need to realize is ok to be bad, is not a crime.
It's ok to suck at a hobby when you're new.
Just keep some of your shit around to see how much you have improved.
my advice is to remake your previous art or song multiple times to compare your new skill to your previous skill.
You may think you will never improve, but if you study and practice, you will improve.
And is a great feeling to realize 3-5 years later, wow, I can do shit much much better than what I did before.
And that's the moment when the hard work really pays off.
It's like a gym, you wont become huge in a few weeks, is a thing that takes years.

Sincerity and passion have no advantage in Indie game development. Because if you are charismatic enough, tenacious enough, and powerful enough, slop will overcome soul.

When something like NVidia NitroGen becomes accessible competitive online gaming is over.

Post Void for example. That's an FPS and it STILL has a melee option

139 days left. The work just keeps inflating. Or rather I've been unconsciously omitting things from the to-do list, things I know full well need to be done. But the game will have to be shipped when my money runs out no matter what. Whatever I think of cutting, I'm worried maybe that's the thing that's gonna make a difference, as if I don't know better by now.

Fair enough. I'm sort of in a similar situation but I think I'll just release the demo early and hopefully finish the game before october, do the release shortly after the fest and start working on the next game so its demo is ready for next february.

Well thats shit!
I definitely 1000% got cancer, and the doctor said there is absolutely nothing they can do to treat or even manage it. It is resistant to every drug, immune to radiation and too wide spread for any form of surgery.
Doctor told me I will die from it eventually, but it probably wont happen for a long time.
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>563831696
I'm not dead yet. The cancer is growing insanely slowly, infact, it's growing so slowly it probably wont even cause any problems for years and years.
Realistically the doctor said I will probably live to be 40, but there is a small chance I'll live to be 50.
>>
>>
>>
>>563831928
Extremely unlikely, it's a very rare type of cancer something like 1 in 50+ million people per year get. There is simply no economic incentive to develop any sort of treatment for it, and there are so few people with it that they never have a large enough group to test other drugs on it either.

https://radiopaedia.org/articles/clear-cell-chondrosarcoma
This is it. And yes, it is rare.
About 1% of all cancers are a bone cancer.
About 20% of bone cancers are chondrosarcoma.
About 2% of chondrosarcomas are of the clear cell type.
Of those, only about 15-20% spread and become metastatic cancer.
In the US there is about 2.1 million cancer diagnoses a year, of those about 10-11 will be the type of cancer I got.
>>
>>
>>
>>563835029
The problem is no drugs, supplements or whatever else will work on the cancer because of the characteristrics it has.
The main problems are it has very, very poor blood supply so most stuff consumed or injected simply wont reach the tumor in significant quantities. Secondly is the tumor is made up of very dense, tough material (it's literally cartilege) so most drugs cannot even penetrate into the tumor anyway. And the third problem is the cells have an insane amount of something called p-glycoprotein, which protects the cells by literally pumping out any foreign, toxic materials so even if the drug enters the cells, it's just removed before it can do anything.

No, stuff like that sounds good on paper but when you understand more about biology you realize they do not work.
These things go on the theory of starving cancer, which would work because cancer has to follow the same laws of physics we all follow. The problem is, you cannot selectively starve cancer without starving yourself.
The theory of a ketogenic diet is cancers need glucose, and by not eating sugar you are starving them of glucose. The reality is your body can break down fats and protein into glucose (and will if you eat no sugar) and many cancers can and will happily feed off of ketones and lipids anyway.
Fasting is a similar theory but more extreme. The idea is cancer is hungry and inefficient, so by eating nothing to starve it. The reality is, a normal cell burns through it's entire energy supply in like 2 minutes and it is constantly being refueled. You can live for weeks and weeks without eating because your body has that much excess energy stored in it. Cancer is just another cell with access to this energy. By the time cancer runs out of energy and dies, you are also out of energy and die.
There is no evidence either of these will do anything to help with cancer survival, or to extend someones life. Fasting in particular can be really bad because a lot of people with cancer develop cachexia where the body starves even if you eat because it just becomes unable to make use of the nutrients you are eating.
