I don't really see any practical reason to remove the rewards screen
The only reason I could think of is to encourage the use of leaving a activity via ghost as quickly possible so its kinda like they encourage you to ignore the results

Besides what other people said about stripping "le soul" its because all the drops come out of a chest rather than a couple drops off a boss and then more in the rewards screen. Its obviously just streamlined to get you back into activities faster rather than wasting your time with an unskippable 15 second cutscene essentially everytime you complete an activity. Also getting rid of that 30 second extra timer before you can enter the next match or strike is much better.

But the statistics are shown on a second tab at the commendations screen so still there just not forced upon you.
