That being said, Nomura has continued saying to not expect news this year and at this point I'm assuming marketing is mostly on Disney's shoulders now. I'm hopeful for D23 for a pulse of life at very least in the form of merch news

I think it’s just hard to fathom the timing. Although them choosing to use UE5 for KH4 certainly didn’t help. At least moving forward these logistical problems should be ironed out

They must realise just saing nothing for year after year is going to hurt the game, you can't just ignore the fanbase for a decade almost and expect it to do well.

>first official gameplay trailer for KH3 was shown at the 2013 event
>The Big Hero 6 world concept art in D23 2015
>Toy Story world trailer debuted in D23 2017
>Monsters Inc. world during the D23 2018 Expo in Japan
They do show trailers at D23 but I think the marketing at Square Enix right now is going to focus all it attention on FF7R
Maybe next year D23 we could see a new KH announcement

Seeing concerns over the financial sustainability of KH around. Going to be honest, I don't think it's even remotely viable. KH4 is probably going to be the last game.

Just beat BBS. What's the consensus on it here? Overall I loved it, though it felt too short and basically forced you to play through it 3 times.
I wonder if it's me, but I was kind of upset about 2 things which I wanted to get some of your perspective on:
1) The story didn't feel like it stood up on its own, it's like it all exists in relation to KH1/2. The story felt hasty, the characters felt a bit generic, while their past was barely touched on. World building was almost nonexistent, the Unversed were barely interesting. Terra, Ven and Aqua just happen to meet every single KH character in the past, and everything just happens to tie in to Radiant Garden, Destiny Islands and Castle Oblivion. In the end what new you learn, beside the X-blade, left more questions than answers, like the absolute clusterfuck that is Ansem-Xemnas-Terra with Eraqus inside, why Ventas didn't wake up when Roxas was alive, why Terra's armor is sentient but others are not, how did they protect Aqua in realm of darkness where she apparently spent 11+ years and hasn't aged a day, etc..
2) Gameplay was good but something felt missing. I played on Critical, I decided to just max out Thundaga/ Thunder Boost with Aqua early on. I basically demolished everything in my path, brute forced every boss with no grinding. No point in D links, shotlock or anything (I played the OG PSP ver).

>like the absolute clusterfuck that is Ansem-Xemnas-Terra with Eraqus inside
i'm pretty sure it's like the same exact thing that Sora got going, with a gorillion hearts being inside him
>why Ventas didn't wake up when Roxas was alive
uuh why would he?
>why Terra's armor is sentient but others are not
angery
>how did they protect Aqua in realm of darkness where she apparently spent 11+ years and hasn't aged a day
they really didn't, main thing is that time is different in the dark realm than on other worlds
i'm pretty sure all these things are explained in the game
>I basically demolished everything in my path, brute forced every boss with no grinding.
that's every KH, if you find the broken OP things it becomes a cakewalk. BBS has quite the number of them too, and you didn't even use the most broken commands in the game (especially given DLinks are also quite broken)

What are the most broken commands anyway? Thundaga + 3 Thunder Boosts destroyed anything, if it didn't, you just do a 2nd Thundaga.
I didn't look up guides or anything, but I heard of and found:
—Ventus D-Link—yeah he's pretty OP, but automatically for every D-Link, they limit your deck and they can't be used for the hardest fights. Regardless, why go melee with anyone when you have Thundaga to zap everyone in seconds. For bosses, Ars Arcanum / Time Splitter + Once More and Second Chance + Cura dude the job just fine
—Mickey D-Link—same applies, I guess I should have used him more, but same bad deck, plus retarded finisher command
—shotlocks—heard something about them. They need to be refilled anyway

FF7 revelation sounds fucking insane
>Yes. In contrast to FFVII Rebirth, where you gradually unlocked new regions and eventually gained the ability to revisit previous areas, the story of FFVII Revelation takes place in a game field where the entire world is connected from the start. You’ll be able to fly the Highwind anywhere. I hope players will come to experience just how different the scale is compared to Rebirth.
I wonder if KH4 is going to be similar? With Quadratum and what not, just a massive open world to explore etc
