Just bought Wilds, (Idk if its thanks to Title Update 4?) optimization, and fps doesnt seem to be too bad. I have a new computer and i get about 100 fps without frame generation.
Too early to give a recommendation, but I'm very pleased with the seamless entering and exiting town

Why should I bother with this shit? I might as well wait for G-Rank to come out.

for me the seamless quests don't work
it can't even be quest in universe where there is no contractor
it doesn't work because most legacy systems where made around the old system and tweaking them doesn't fully fix that
it doesn't work because the UI is atrocious and unintuitive
it doesn't work because all the challenges, content creation, TA and all, revolve around the timed instance system
it's also a global pacing problem because there is no downtime system where prep/food/hub loadout menuing used to be
all of monster hunter is built around the quest system and it can't be switched out that easily, it simply doesn't work
for me wilds is just a convoluted mix of bad ideas relying on a base of legacy systems it isn't compatible with

That's generally how I approach the base game end grind. I'll get some rolls that are fine and unlock stuff for the cosmetics I want to use, then not really care because G-rank will just make all of it completely obsolete after two or three hunts.

Honestly the gog rolls are not as bad as the based artian ones.
That said you don't even need the Artian weapons if you don't care about min-maxing. And if you do. Just mod it in. You can have infinite items to do rolls with and it will still take forever to get the best rolls. It is a complete garbage system. At least you don't need much to make a gog weapon and the rerolls use the same item and this time you can actually reroll the same weapon in game and choose if you like the stats or not.
So I would say mod in your Artian weapons and naturally grind for the gog updates. Though I guess there are the additional skills in the gog weapons... welp, just mod in the ones you like...
Or just farm normal monsters and ignore all that...

Should I go back to World to fight the few monsters I didn't hunt or should I give Frontier another try ?I mostly want to fight this guy, and maybe try out the tonfas.

Never cared much owning games just to display them, but I decided to go ahead and bought all of this (across 3 different shops). Just missing MHG (PS2), Tri G (Wii), Diary G (PSP + 3DS) and the 100 versions of Frontier on PC.
All for less than 3k yen (20 dollars). The most expensive one was XX at 500 yen. Majority were 110 or 220, with Dos, 4G and World at 297 yen. Was not planning to buy World, but at that price, I thought why not.
I will look for the rest whenever I happen to stop buy the manga/game stores.

Yes, I played it on PC. World and Rise too. I didn't even plan to buy anything after GU, but World just happened to be cheap. Maybe you missed the fact I bought all of this just last week? No intention to actually use the physical copies. Have already played many of them on emulators.
I thought there is an Wii version too, but checking again, I think you are right, it is just for the Wii U. Mind you, they don't use the Ultimate part in Japan.

there was dauntless (lol), and that more recent imitator game with hyper-real graphics that ran like shit and tried to incorporate fortnite building mechanics. jerma and vinny played it a few years ago i think
there's also god eater but that's more of a standard jap action game than a monhun imitation

helmsplitter will miss because of some dumb bullshit like you were 1mm too far away from the monster for the hit to connect, or because you spend most of the attack hanging in the air waiting to come down, and you watch the monster backflip away
you miss a SAED because of bad positioning and bad reads, and it feels like you deserved to miss when you do (at least to me)
you can also cancel a SAED into an AED if you think you're gonna miss to not waste the whole thing, whereas LS has no such issue
LS also takes longer to build up its meter to full
that said, fuck LS users they deserve to miss helmsplitters learn to hit the tail and stop staggering everyone you dumb shit

I use Graphical mods and audio based mods primarily. Like Boomer music/Classic OST, Frontier OST, Classic Item pickup sfx, for world I use the Classic item shine, Seikret over palamutes, because I think the birds are cute, etc.
But I have made a mod list for solo que to change up gameplay a bit, mostly just making Rise closer to old gen as possible.

That'd be Wild Hearts. It got published by EA and people rightfully hated it for that too, but then for the Switch 2 version they fixed everything up and got rid of EA to make a definitive version of the game without all the bullshit plaguing its first release. The characters are ugly as sin, the monsters are just animal + nature, there's no gyro, and the climbiing is jank but mechanically it's got some interesting stuff going on and monsters can put up a decent fight. Feels like Toukiden Rise, with the building mechanics serving the same purpose as wirebugs for combat and traversal (mainly cancelling actions for attack/defense) while also adding a puzzle element as you learn how they interact with each monster. It's pretty decent now, I'd say at least the demo is worth a try. They didn't fix it up anywhere but Switch 2 though
