Changes since last time: -Sharesuite disabled to make sure scrappers are fixed, may have made the game harder as a side effect. Need to test first to see if config needs to be changed. -Artifact of Risk Taking has a chance to add 1-43 mountain shrines when enabled >>2227938 NOW
>>2227939 >game nullrefs then bugs out as it spawns enemies in the multiplayer lobby screen and in the menu I think this is a sign for me to head to bed. Thanks for hostan.
>>2227939 SOVEREIGNTY BTFO, CLOSED. Thanks for joinan. These notes are for me: >Figure out scrapper / bazaar chest conundrum and revert until you do >Adjust Cruelty somehow
>>2225956 What's the mod that gives an artifact that forces at least one shrine of the mountain on every stage? I can't remember if I had that as part of a larger pack or just a standalone, but I didn't see what I remember it being named when I searched.
It has come to my attention that only 5.9% of players have unlocked artifact of prestige in Risk Returns... you wouldn't happen to belong to the majority, would you?
>>2232203 >>2232211 >>2232223 >not finding the code manually You didn't unlock the artifact. Seriously, its code is super easy to find, it's on a DLC stage.
>>2232525 Maaaybe. I'm giving the scrapper and cauldrons issue a big think. The Bigger Bazaar author made a setting that allows the uninstalling of Sharesuite, but unfortunately that maybe wasn't the issue. I'm closing in on a solution, and if I can get it before 9pm PST I'll probably host.
Code, might host before the end of tonight. Cauldron green to white not giving 3 whites was fixed courtesy of modman, adjusted some Bigger Bazaar values. 019c4b60-81c7-9dd0-6868-4f1e478940d9

I'm pleased to announce that the threat of the Heretic is over. Pictured: Enemies getting JadedElephant, Gesture Of the Drowned, but not the Heretic items. This is in complete thanks to Anreol wherever he may be finish the Turbo port mod you fuck. I might host just to be triple sure but maybe not.

Changes since last time: -Improved Survivor AI mod. Means gummy clones and Artificer and umbras will be tougher. -DamageSourceForEnemies. Enemies will properly use items if they have them. -SkinTuner. You can now paint your character in the lobby. Really cool. -AccelPlus. Artificer and Mul-T now have the same sprint speeds as everybody else -AugmentedVoidReaver. Void Reaver M1 is more powerful and versatile. -Serious Sam skin for commando
I spent the last seven hours trying to fix up an old version of EWI only to realize I fucked something up in hour 2. Fuck IL instruction coding, fuck hopoo, fuck randy, fuck worms, and FUCK Arraign. Here's to tomorrow.
Basically I want to make it so the Heretic items are never granted to enemies, and I want the item blacklist to accept string values (PortableReactor instead of 253) so as to avoid the problem of shifting item ids when item mods are added or mods that have hidden items for functionality purposes. The old EWI has better item distribution; I'm sorry Anreol if you ever read this, it just does. I spent a lot of time trying to match nu-EWI's distribution to Basil's old one using only the config, but it doesn't work the same on a foundational level (0 to the current stage * item gen cap * item multiplier). That formula is as good as gold, just needs to stop in the womb vis-a-vis Heretic items and the config needs to accept string names. Here's to tomorrow.
>>2285931 (You) me when you wipe (or close) got sucked into IRL shit right after i joined and now i decided to just have something to eat while i wait instead of rejoining i know dropin's on but still
>>2296521 I don't think they're gonna slow down anytime soon, now that the Gearbox team actually knows what they're doing. Randy wants to make his money back ASAP. Also keep in mind we went from Hopoo's relatively small team to a team of nearly fifty people, so the pace picking up was to be expected, for better or worse. We'll probably get one expansion per year until they inevitably decide to make Risky 3.
>>2301510 >literally the entire core design of the game is looking for loot increases the time which increases the difficulty >so you have to balance looking for chests while still keeping good time by design >bro what le fuck I have to LOOK for the chests? that's tedium, just give them all to me I'll just politely say I don't think this is the game for you. The only acceptable chest mod is the one that fades out chests you've already opened because at least you already found them.
>>2235585 I got access to the DLC using this method but now my mods are not working. Checked the log file and saw this [Warning: BepInEx] Tried to load duplicate assembly RoR2.dll from Managed folder! Skipping... was wondering if there's any way I can fix this without having to revert my RoR2 file back to the original
>Hopoo sells out and abandons his studio to work on Deadlock >Game feels pretty similar to Risky 2 in terms of controls >Now they're supposedly working on a PvE mode and insiders are saying it's literally just 1:1 the Risk of Rain gameplay loop >Kill waves of enemies, get money to open chests all over the map, then activate a shrine to fight a big boss What the fuck is Hopoo thinking? He's just making Risky 2 again
>>2316652 Not sure, the gamemode is still pretty early along so it'll be a few months before it actually comes out apparently. All we know is the go to Deadlock info guy is saying it's 1:1 Risk of Rain with new map(s) for the game and everything, and that since Hopoo is working on some big stuff, it's almost certainly this.
>>2296712 Yeah, they should just make a third one. Second Gearbox DLC was really good so I have faith the next one would be good but they should just move onto a sequel.
>>2328373 Fun but just doesn't have any alt skills. The comet special is pretty crap since it doesn't scale and just refreshes her utility on kill which also doesn't scale at all. It needs some other effect cause without the bullet special you lose so many procs
looking at other people's footage of the fight I guess one of my mods (probably Multitudes?) fucked it up because it looks like there's only supposed to be one giant eye but in my fight there were two, I tried to look back for my footage of it but steam recording committed suicide that run
The Triple-i Initiative Showcase is happening in a few minutes, Risky 2 is gonna be shown there with presumably the reveal for the next DLC. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8yIAOdBcYYQ

>>2338771 I would be way more excited for N'Kuhana DLC if this was the 3rd Gearbox DLC in 2 years. Slow down the DLC machine Randy, or you'll end up with another Seekers
>>2344935 >both trick question, you're fucked either way because it's all jank or just abysmal dogshit, use the unlocker method >>2235585 >modding we don't do vanilla-esque anymore, you need to get the mods in multi when hosts are had here speaking of >>2286093 please come back with the milk-imeanvanillaruns whiteman
>>2344924 I'd say just get them for free with the DLL method shown here >>2235585 But if you don't want to do that, get either Survivors of the Void or Alloyed Collective. Seekers of the Storm isn't bad in its current state but it does by far the least to actually leave an impact on how you play the game besides adding a few broken items to the item pool. Compared to the other two, it's very underwhelming.
>>2345025 I'd say Seekers is a straight up detriment to have with how it fucks up the stage 1 experience with the guaranteed Halc shrine adding +3 minutes to farm. It's too OP to skip but it feels like ass. SotV is scuffed in some ways but it affects the main game loop the most and is pretty much considered basegame at this point. >>2344924 But really you should just use the DLC unlocker because the game is fully run by Gearbox/2k at this point and is being treated as a cynical corporate product.
>>2345230 >I'd say Seekers is a straight up detriment to have with how it fucks up the stage 1 experience with the guaranteed Halc shrine adding +3 minutes to farm. >It's too OP to skip but it feels like ass. On stage 1 specifically it takes 0 director credits to be generated. You can skip it and the flow of stage 1 would be identical to pre-SotS, with the only difference being the shrine serving as a small piece of cover.
>wiki page for drifter and operator dont work >steam page doesnt have dedicated trailers for specific survivors like the other dlcs are they fun? also i just unlocked void fiend but cant make him work
>>2355319 Operator is a fun ranged combo character. Drifter has some neat gimmicks with being able to throw things but is kind of painful because of her lack of consistent ranged options.
Void Fiend is notoriously the most ass survivor to play in the game, and straight up needs mods to be remotely playable.
>>2355536 Void Fiend is not the most ass survivor lol. Absolutely destroys early game and main form's basic attack is incredibly accurate and smokes annoying pests and wisps.
>>2366389 His base form has zero DPS and struggles to kill anything remotely tanky. Killing wisps as a ranged character is not a notable character trait. His transformation takes a retardedly long time, and has the dumb healing antisynergy that forces you to scrap healing items or else you're never allowed to use his fun void form, not to mention that both sides of the transformation just happen automatically, while also being affected by items involuntarily proccing and affecting the meter. He just feels like utter ass to play. Obviously it's possible to beat the game with him since this is a PVE game, but I would never pick him over any other character that has an actually fun kit to use. It's also telling that the main way to play him among Eclipse freaks is to completely ignore the void form and just take 10 hours to clear things in his shitty base form while crutching on his self-heal.
>>2368068 Void Fiend is definitely dogshit and not far from the very bottom but I'd still play him over Artificer any day. For Void Fiend you just have to play around his shitty mechanics, but you'll at least get by with relative ease even if it feels awful. With Artificer you have you rely on a few very specific items and put in three times more effort to still perform worse than most of the other Survivors do right out of the pod.
>>2370649 It's not 'cheating' since it's just another artifact the game gives you, but it might as well be. It trivializes the game and removes what very little difficulty it does have, namely having to deal with the RNG and (in 2's case, the increasingly larger) underwhelming pool of items.
>>2370649 It is because half of the game's difficulty revolves around making do with whatever items you get. Command removes all of that and you can just stack whatever broken item you want and steam roll the game.
Do people play /v/ rules Returns? I never really fell in love with any of the mods for ror1 and I'm kind of craving some classic funballs glass action Alternatively I can host vanilla ror1 if people don't wanna play returns
>>2398949 Returns was settled on some other setting since glass on it is... jank. I forget specifics, though. If you have Stahstom already set up just host that.
>>2399210 >>2399323 I was never particularly a fan of Starstorm, but I'm willing to experiment a bit with a ruleset for Returns. Playing singleplayer, I get what you mean about glass, so something like 200% damage taken and 175% damage dealt seems like a reasonable compromise?
>>2402767 Call me a boomer but Starstorm always just felt like too much to me, I thought the new elites weren't very fun and I didn't enjoy any of the new characters, let alone learning 50 new items for a game I'd only ever play when people made lobbies for it It's been a while (like 7 years) so I'm willing to give it another chance but I do miss the simpler chaos of vanilla /v/ rules
>>2402791 >>Call me a boomer but Starstorm always just felt like too much to me, I thought the new elites weren't very fun and I didn't enjoy any of the new characters, let alone learning 50 new items for a game I'd only ever play when people made lobbies for it I totally get that, so much of Starstorm isn't explained to the player and the wiki for it sucks and is unfinished, it's a lot that gets thrown at you at once
>>2402791 >Call me a boomer but Starstorm always just felt like too much to me same learning process as vanilla >I thought the new elites weren't very fun They're just different flavors of vanilla- poison and corrosive are fire/overloading, kinetic, dazing, and void are frenzied/leeching, gilded is volatile. Empyreans never show up, Aeonian are confined to secret, and Ultra is Bligger 2. postloop (gilded/corrosive) need to be banned from Cataclysm though, cannot get a run started on /v/ rules with them involved without ruleset shenanigans. >itens Experiment after making sure you can avoid dying with a vanilla build. Except replace hooves and syringe with coffee for the first few. No wiki at this stage does fucking suck, though. >simpler chaos same chaos, just more. Up to you.

I'm still skeptical but the new DLC actually does seem to be doing a lot to shake the game up. You can't just get a bunch of overpowered freebies and actually have to put in work by getting through some difficult challenges it seems, including maybe a new Shrine of the Mountain thing? It also actually seems to incorporate into normal runs rather than funnelling you through a mostly self-contained path like the last two DLCs did. The Curio thing seems pretty fun too.
Late reply sorry, but >>2491670 I mean gameplay wise is also good, not like its not valuable input >>2491645 Fair, its been a little since I recall playing but I thought REX directly used HP rather than shields >>2491677 >boring and gay glass houses anon
>>2497660 >players when When the DLC drops and then they'll leave again after two days, as per usual. Then it's right back to the slow decline these threads have been on since Gearbox took over and started parading this franchise's cold corpse around. :^)
>>2548288 It is playable and enjoyable singleplayer, so yes. Risk of Rain Returns is also in a Humble Bundle right now https://www.humblebundle.com/games/humble-15th-anniversary-indie-icons-showcase
>>2548339 >lastly, are the expansions mandatory? No, if you join a multiplayer game, only one player needs expansions in order to enable the DLC for the match. Those that don't own the DLC won't get to use its characters or unlock its content, but they will get to play on the stages and use DLC items just fine. You won't attain a 100% achievement completion rate on Steam, but the game's own counter will show you 100% once you unlock everything on your save file.
>>2555465 Dual gunner drones and default loadout. Heal drone is throwing because Operator is already super mobile and doesn't need the survivability. Alt secondary is ok, lets you save your drones instantly and removes the thing where you lose out on DPS if you buy healing/utility drones, but it also means you lose out on the really strong scaling on offensive drone commands on the default secondary.
>>2555756 I've never bothered with Firewall, felt really awkward the few times I've used it, and you can straight up get splashed through the barrier at times. Transport drones are genuinely throwing, useless pieces of shit move enemies out of the way of attacks and don't even deal that much fall damage because they've got some hidden limitation to them or something.
