>>2257751 There's plenty of good games happening without social media cancer but yeah about every third post the game description is just a discord invite
>>2257780 he's apparently planning to make some additions so that fags won't have needing to get the server address and guides as an excuse to lure you into their groomer discords
>>2258502 There's no council to determine that. They probably pull from some database of game names and you can select whatever game you want. Schedules can be private (viewable only if you have the links). It's basically just a neat utility cause it's usable while anon. >how do we un-anon each other Never ask me that question again. I'm sensitive about it.
>>2261434 It was advertised to /v/ "first," although seemingly just in conjunction with wherever else the dev wanted to reach out. Overall there's a pretty wide mix as a result, but definitely a sizeable number of anons. Doesn't really matter anyways. If you host a session you can have it be as 4chan-oriented as you want
when you make a gamedate please for the love of god SELL ME YOUR FUCKING GAME!!!
sixteen-trillion lines of text detailing how to install some specific shitty fork of whatever GAY game you want to play and you can't even tell me why it's worth my time.
>censors faggot and nigger because hecking bad words Kill yourself faggot. Your shitty site sucks. As if i wanted to play with non-imageboard users in the first place. Newfags like you will never understand the sense of belonging to a community. If you did you would have never made this site in the first place. >>2261750 It was advertised to Reddit first.
>>2262770 >the sense of belonging to a community Everyone else understands it perfectly fine. It's why everyone keeps using it and having fun together, while outsiders like you cope and seethe to try to bring it all down.
>>2262792 It is pretty funny how someone on an anonymous board is mad about an anonymous lobby hosting scheduler. You just know he avatarfags in his threads cause that's probably the only value he sees in an imageboard.
>>2262894 Why did you give ME a YOU? Was I right about you being an avatarfag? I've been practicing looking into a person's soul through their 4chan posts, so this is a big breakthrough.
>>2262149 I think gamedate could benefit from having a wiki section dedicated for explaining how to install and host games, especially for ones without server browsers
>>2263608 IMO that's up to the individual game communities, and outside of the scope of the site storing pertinent information doesn't really fit the design of the site either the sessions are deleted shortly after expiring, not unlike 4chan threads this is presumably to limit necessary resources and make the service economical to operate running a wiki would be contrary to that, in addition to requiring much more moderation
in general I get the sense that the site is tightly focused on what it wants to do, without burdening itself with unnecessary cruft I find that admirable
>discuss button >goes straight to Reddit >sign in with steam or trooncord >report button >missing posts in threads with people replying to removed posts >no one is hosting anything and just linking random game servers or discords this is literally discord 2.0
>>2264729 At discord you cannot see anything from outside, at gamedate you can, and it is searchable with search engines. Thats already miles beyond discord.
>>2266543 Some of the shitpost session listings had some of them in there, still trying to get anything out of their weird one-sided rivalry. At this point they should just take the hint: if all of 4chan going down didn't get any anons to obsess over them, nothing will.
If anything, the only thing learned from having them constantly try to bother people is that, if every computer blew up tomorrow at the hands of a single individual, the average anon wouldn't even be bothered to learn that person's name. They'd be more concerned with just getting the right mailing list so they can return to writing racial slurs while slackjawed at their desk as soon as possible, like an unflappable pile of mush.
>posts on a website to anonymously organize lobbies for dead games >advertises the gayest TTT server imaginable >radical about free access and removing barriers to gameplay >still want to vet their players with a whitelist troons just can't integrate for shit can they
>>2266775 "^you were being weird under the last post but now you suddenly want to join after learning that we're mostly girls" I checked the listing's comments. Of course they actually believe it so hearing biological men say this is even funnier than reading it from animeposters on 4chan.
>>2267441 Sure anon, everyone and everything is trannies. You sure are fighting the good fight by doing literally anything but actually playing video games.
>>2266775 >a server with a specific vision and willing to gatekeep This seems good though. As long as they're not raiding and vandalizing other self-segregating groups, isn't this the system working as intended? If you love anarchist-trannoids, you have a place to go. If you don't, then you have a place to send them.
>>2268961 lel There's a fair chance, knowing how those people tend to behave. Especially for political shit, it's always the most radicalized who self-select to be an organizer. It doesn't refute my point as I made it, though. Gatekept servers with specific goals and subcultures are good. Much better mixing everyone in together.
>>2268961 It probably is, but less in the sense that they're an actual troon schizo and more that it's from the same schizos that have been shitposting on the site, and in the absence of an actual lolcow, they'll just pretend to be one in order to react to it like it's real.
>>2269153 That's the weird bit: it's not even you people trying to offend or slander or build a sentiment/bulwark against troons, you're just doing pure social masturbation. It'd actually make sense if you were actually against trannies, but instead it's this strange and other obsessive ritual that has no basis at this point.
>>2269328 it's true: it's not enough having a hugbox here on 4chan to hide away from the trannies i need to seek out troons and obsess over them every living moment I can, rather than actually play video games
>>2268958 this it's them making a new space for themselves, away from normal folk this is exactly what everyone said they wanted what's happening in this thread is old school unprovoked 4chan bullying, except it comes off as just pathetic
>>2269750 lol like I said, I think them making their own space is the best scenario but I'm not on their team and I wouldn't touch that server in my life I just appreciate it operating out of sight
and this is a separate manner, but modern 4chan has this weird tendency of pretending like other anons are particular people it's like you don't understand the idea of an anonymous board and that basing your argument on an assumed identity is equivalent to an ad hominem and therefore reflects unfavourably on the speaker's intelligence but fear not, I have no stake in this and will not spend further energy correcting you go forth and be as foolish as you like
My style of hosting is more of an "in the moment" kind of deal and I feel this is for those things you need about a week to organize for getting even a couple people to join.
In my opinion the more time you give people to prepare, the more time they have to excuse themselves at the last minute.
>>2270661 >want to join game >session asks you to use Discord to get the info >proceed to host the game instead ez pz lemon squeezee
also, you don't even have to download discord, don't you like unless they changed it, you can just use it in web browser with a temp guest account that uses no login
>>2271671 >I don't use Discord at all Good for you. Doesn't really contribute to what you're replying to, but it seems like you're desperate for affirmation, so I'll give you a crumb of it.
With GameDate I've played so many games I never thought I'd get to play again! I've almost played too many video games recently! My dick has also grown in size after I started using GameDate!
>>2273087 Dev probably knows that going SEKRIT CLUB at the very start of the site's life is dumb on top of exclusively shilling it on /v/ could fill it instantly with shartards undesirables, through the textboard intro thread confirms me that the Dev knows whats wrong with most gaming communities lately
>>2276057 Hosting discussion there was also pretty much a non-factor, as being able to discuss on the site isn't really part of its purview, and it didn't really host the kinds of thing that the current discussion system is good for.
As it stands, the only concern is that it opened the door to non-anons, but I personally don't see that as much of an issue. With the admin focused on self-moderation and not banning anons, no amount of redditors or what have you will stop you from being able to host and play on the site. If you do host, then randos do well to round out the numbers and populate the session, and if they can't play along and act like whiny redditors, then give them the boot.
The only way it would be an "issue" is just if someone was too socially anxious to take control of the situation, whether to host or to give the boot while the host, and pussies get what they get
>>2279708 Isn't that for the best? At least you can join/dismiss based on preferences. Loud and proud is pretty much the MO of lgbtq+ on the internet anyway, so this site is another avenue for them to showcase themselves.
>>2279722 Some of the chuddiest people are transgender women but we are never gonna have that conversation because the powers that be profit from people fight over stupid shit no one care about instread of simply agreeing to boycott which ever shitty ultraflop comes out next and talk about vidya.
>>2279708 Threadly reminder that "Queer" is one of those motte-and-bailey words. The first meaning is just the inclusive "gay" - any non-straight sexual orientation. The second meaning is "Queer" in the philosophical sense, which is the ideological opposition to all norms and structures simply because they are norms or structures.
Normies don't know about the second meaning, so political radicals will dance between both and play dumb when you notice. Queerness(philosophical) is genuinely evil and committed to vandalizing and unmaking anything and everything without limit.
Only two people showed up for my session, which I had expected 13 people to attend. I think it's easy to exploit the attendance function to waste someone's time.
>>2282728 It's always been an issue with hostfagging. It's why you generally have to pick games that are highly scalable up and down, and have something to occupy your time with while waiting. Whenever I host something, I usually have some book I'm reading or a smaller game I wanna play on the side.
>>2283264 Most of the examples listed are people posting their 'cord links/social media anyways, which defeats the entire purpose of the site being its own entity. Take that shit elsewhere.
>>2283276 >Most of the examples listed are people posting their 'cord links/social media anyways Not even sure what you mean by that.
If you mean the examples posted here >>2283172 then actually not. The only one that even lists a discord is Atlyss and it explicitly has lobby deets if you don't want to use discord, so it's not really all that much of an issue anyways.
If you mean the lobbies already hosted on the site as a whole, honestly it's actually worse than that, lol. "MOST" aren't posting any deets at all, 'cord or lobby or otherwise. They'll just say "play game" or "we'll figure it out" or maybe a shallow inkling of how you'll connect. People really don't know how to host at all.
But all of this is also just secondary to the fact that you can host yourself, lol. Be the change you wanna see.
>>2294480 I don't see why thread being dead is an issue, there's not much to talk about a scheduling site it's nice to know it exists though >how many tranny sessions are there now? I really couldn't tell you, seeing as I don't give a fuck try being less obsessed maybe
>>2294480 >meant this thread thread got fully hijacked by twitteroids that only care about trannies, so it's understandable nobody wants to schedule sessions in here best case scenario, they join and they're still obnoxious as hell, worst case scenario, you end up with an annoying cyberstalker
Just watched the video from the dev and this guy is seriously giving out $250 for whoever can design a new logo for the site. Still no donations btw. Dev is john rockefeller https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LhN4SOVtelI
>>2303216 Not "hey here's a session for a game to play" Instead "hey here's a thread on another website where there's trannies" How lovely, and truly healthy behavior on your part
I can recommend the saturday killing floor session my main issues with the game were the retarded leveling grind and the fact that 99% of online servers were animu infested turret shit with homer simpson patriarch and garbage music blasting that cannot be turned off without muting the entire game. having to deal with neither of these is fucking great. their server is running some roguelike effects per wave, which is cool but I hope to play some normal 10 wave stuff.
>>2307641 as long as they keep to their own threads it's the best outcome they are happy and out of sight if virtue signalling starts spreading to the entire site then yeah, that's too far
>>2307641 >this is how it starts Yeah, it is how it starts: people obsess over troons instead of hosting games, inadvertently giving up more and more space as troons are the ones actively using the space instead, and then eventually you fully give up the space because "too many troons" and then they win. That's how they overrun shit.
>>2308592 >we move on to troon free platforms 1) Which is the most cucked shit to do, giving up your space to troons 2) And then troons just move to those platforms anyways so fags like are just constantly being pushed out because you can't properly deal with troons and box them out instead of just shouting the same old rhetoric while running away. Just unimaginable levels of being a pussy.
>Was meant to be for old internet games with no real way to connect >Already full of minecraft server shilling, new games that have lobbies and ways to connect, mainstream normie games etc. >The old games it was meant for are now left in the dark
>>2336950 anon for some reason thinks that just because it doesn't generate conversation here, the site is dead well, I say that, but the true purpose is to bump the thread, so he does seem to care in a roundabout way
>>2431365 Personally, I just stick to games that can use steam:// lobby links, which EDF 4.1 doesn't seem to be. The best bet is to just try to use the comments section as an active checkin, and open up slots for people as they turn up, unless yeah you just wanna post your ID ask them to add you
