Well it looks like I'm getting completely new dialogue from Phaesus now, after Talos is done with the dragons. He's having a nice indirect chat with the Pathfinder themselves, with the latter telling him he would have made for a fine arisen had he chosen a different path in life. I'm at a loss for words lol, I love this game but it was so rushed. Almost 1000 hours and countless playthroughs to witness this

Could be that he died offscreen to the monsters? If he did he should be in the morgue in Vermund and you can revive him with a wakestone and then maybe pass a few days to see if he respawns in that area. I vaguely remember it happening in one of my playthroughs but it was forever ago.

Finished the game.
Someone explain what the heck happened in the ending, especially why the final shot is a certain random ass character getting on a boat.
DD1 ending was bittersweet but it made me feel things. This ending was just weird.

Rivage elder from harve; his story is pretty easy to miss because of how the game is structured. TL;DR he's one of the failed arisen, gone schizo possibly due to having gone against the pathfinder's "story". If you get a game over during the Unmoored World section your arisen ends up in the exact same situation as he does.
I guess the implication is that the pathfinder is deliberately blocking people from exploring the world via the brine so that his cycle doesn't get derailed.

Unmoored World, fighting Bestiary's version of the drake on Volcanic Island, aggressive as fuck but fair, it takes very little damage unless its heart is exposed so timing and positioning are essential. The beast does not relent, it's fast, it uses its tail swipe a lot more often, it tricks you with a double slam. Gobbos and rock lizards join the fight and they don't give a shit about waiting for their turn, so they just jump at you while you're trying to strike the drake's heart, and you have to turn quickly to parry them with your shield, then switch to your mace to send them flying away with a charged attack so that your pawns can finish the job. The drake's heart is still exposed, it lifts into the air to roast you with its flames. There's no time to lose, you must jump and cling onto it or else the fight will take too long. You land a successful gutting skewer on its tail at the last moment, you climb it while it's spamming flames, and start mashing buttons right onto its heart. The winged fucker won't have any of it though, it crushes you into the ground while your sword is still stuck in its chest. You're dead, good thing you were carrying a single wakestone or it would have been game over in UW. The drake doesn't have much health left, but it goes into a rage and starts using its tail swipe while it spits fire at your entire party. Its ground smash attack now causes flames to erupt from the terrain, you must avoid them to get to its heart. One of the explosions throws you into the air, you're almost dead again, it's time to put those Allheal Elixirs to good use now because you can't heal from zero HP anymore and if you die you're fucked. Drake grabs you, one of your pawns casts silence on its hand and you're free, you swing your sword desperately while Gil spams meteoron all around you, a rock lizard's charge is interrupted by an explosion and you watch it fly while the slow-mo from the final blow to the drake kicks in.

I want an expanded pawn quest system in the dlc, just give me something to grind in my favorite game Capcom I beg you. If you're using a custom difficulty preset, I think you might have a better time in NG+ since you will have access to dragonforged equipment sooner. I'm not a fan of some of the changes in Dullahan but the best part about the mod is that you can toggle all of them off if you wish so, keep that in mind in case mystic spearhand doesn't feel as satisfying as before. I also disabled the faster tusk toss charging time for fighter

I remember getting his escort quest early and brought him to the ancient battleground while I was still underleveled, he helped me cheese the fire drake there early because of me spamming Hagol while he was was channeling Decanter (buffed by Dullahan mod to slow by 50%).
Poor bastard basically couldn't move while my pawns were wailing on it and knocking it down while Myrddin was just standing in the back giving it the succ. Was pretty fun.

If I get this correctly, RE9 was fiscal year 2025, and this year they must be counting mostly on Pragmata and Onimusha to achieve their fiscal goes, possibly the RE9 dlc too. Next year is probably the year of Wilds G, but the game had "soft sales" according to investors so it would probably make sense to ship something major alongside of it.
Why wait so long to tease a DLC? Maybe it was in limbo and they only started working on it recently, so it might take them a while. I hope there will be something at the state of play

methinks no dlc was ever planned, then Itsuno left and they felt like dropping everything cause MHwilds was about to come out anyway. If a dlc is coming, i think it's both wilds underperforming (if it really did) and people that kept asking for a dlc, hell i've seen steam reviews of crimson desert being like "good game, also i want a dlc for DD2".
Being planned is keyword here, cause dlcs are usually being planned while the main game is being worked on, and this was clearly not the case here. My guess is that they feel like they can just scrounge one up, after all Kinoshita, aka the guy that actually directed dark arisen, is still there, and it's not like a dlc can't be made out of reusing and slightly changing already made assets. Especially if, and i very much hope it's not, it's BBI again

Personally I believe they were bullied into freezing their plans because the backlash was insane at launch: the bad performance + microtransactions + disappointing side step direction of the sequel was a brutal combo. We tend to think corpos don't listen to customers but sometimes they do, Capcom was recently bullied into removing Enigma from Resident Evil 4. And it turns out that playing the waiting game was a smart decision because the perception around the game is different now, with people like redditoskr - who accepted Capcom money to review the game as positively as he could and then bashed it into oblivion afterwards, who are now looking forward to more content

also i don't believe the rest, even after the supposed "insane backlash" capcom still went and said they now, as in after the game sold 3 million copies, consider dragon's dogma a key franchise. Which plays into the dlc being never planned, cause they just didn't consider it worthy of that before. And then planning started, which means 2 years after is when we're getting hints about it being a possibility, cause planning is also about when's the best time to talk about it, when it will have the most eyes on it

I mean the game had a mostly negative score on steam and there was at least one video with a million views that was dunking on it right at launch, if that's not a huge backlash I don't know what qualifies for it. Among the various critiques, most seem to agree that the story goes to hell the moment you're supposed to attend the coronation, I hope that something can be done about it but I don't expect the devs to touch the main progression at all, including UW. That's what I meant that I'd rather they just focused on something that can stand on its own like BBI unless they have enough resources to add a whole new area without making the game feel even more disjointed. I'm a bit disappointed in DD2's modding scene, regarding lewd stuff, there's barely anything because apparently molding armors is very complicated, even just getting the equivalent of DD1's Silk Lingerie meant installing like 5 other mods.
About actualy gameplay mods and balance, it's all practically done by one guy though admittedly his mods are pretty good.

Seamless warfarer is broken imo, very fun but that's cheating 100%. As for Dullahan, having rearmament become a core skill feels just right. The mod comes with a lot of tweaks, many buffs and a few nerfs, so it's more balanced even though I still think it messes with the difficulty of the game mostly. But the question is, does it really matter if it's fun? Mystic Spearhand had some broken skill combos in the vanilla game anyway (which Dullahan nerfed btw)

I had been playing DD2 for about 150+ hours and finished the game 3 times, and I'm still discovering new stuff, not only new treasures and new ways to get out of the intended playable area, (this can happen so easily it's insane) but also I just noticed that you can buy a house in Bakbattahl but it sucks because it's so tucked away though it looks really nice and I attempted the riddle of futility again and I got frustrated trying to carry that damn vase all the way to the city that I looked it up online, and the easy solution is crazy, I had no idea it was possible to use ferrystones that way.

My schizo headtheory is that the DLC will be new kingdom set in a winter biome (snow plains, wooded taigas, steep mountains) and the endless dungeon will instead be an impossibly gargantuan tower that you must ascend.100 floors, and reaching the pinnacle sends you to the moon where you fight unmoored Grigori in a fight similar to the Ur-Dragon, except you get joined by other Arisens either NPC or player made.

Yeah the invisible walls are funny because there's still plenty of ground you can walk on and it's clear you weren't meant to be there anyway since it's empty as fuck, one good example is the area around and above the Sphinx's 2nd area, so much area you can freely walk around without being cockblocked by invisible walls.
I wonder if it would've been better to at least add a bunch of random herbs you could pick up in those areas, to at least have something for you if you get up those areas, I don't remember things like this happening in DDDA but then again Gransys is much smaller and the hills are much more steep.
Making a big ass open world seems hard as fuck and it shows here, the game being pushed to release early didn't help I bet.

That would be giga kino, whenever I look at any distant scenery in games that you can't explore my curiosity goes wild, I just begin to imagine what could possibly be there, what could've been, etc., seeing that area in DD2 would be amazing.

I just started playing again. I wonder if my pawn is in the old sheet still, I haven't been in these threads since dd2 came out. I remade her on a new character, not sure if I'll keep her archer again or not. Most mods seem to not interfere with pawns/online, any I should be careful of to not brick her for hiring?

Cute pawn, I believe those lists haven't been touched in a long while so probably. There have been reports of pawns with glitchy badges but no reports of people bricking their pawns so far, just be careful if you cap her level because she might be soft banned if you don't cap her discipline points. It's not irreversible but you might see zero hires

I saved my arisen/pawn as charactermanager presets, backed up my save, then started a new save and reloaded their appearances. I already did ng+ a ton, so I want to re-do everything from scratch with all the modded changes.
