I also made a cold tank to where it could contain 1-2kpa of all the mols I needed, then mixed that with a plasma tank hotter than the sun. Result was a 2730kpa cold tank but I still had 300 extra kpa of improvement I'm not sure how to get. I could try to work with mix sizes under 1kpa but that sounds dangerous and annoying

ahh, there are more efficient ways of creating your cold tank, you don't have to go so extreme! it's probably a lot more math, so if that's not your thing what you are doing works okay.
but you are at the point of diminishing returns really. anything over 30dev and you're starting to really minmax how much energy you can shove into the system. becomes a balancing game of tweaking the hot tank to tweak the cold tank and vice versa.

i found my graph so i'll share this with you if you want to play around with it: https://www.desmos.com/calculator/yiygdlclvx
basically what this does is allow you to look at the place where viable bombs form.
the most difficult thing to understand is the 'ratio' part. the graph assumes you are making a Hot Tank of 100% plasma and your cold tank is a mix of plasma & oxygen. the 'ratio' is the % of the tank that is filled with plasma.
and c is the total number of mols of Plasma you are aiming for (in a 70L tank). on my end, at least, the graph is set for 76mol of Plasma. you'll see the Zone of Viability (as i call it) is in the region of 115K to 119K for the cold tank and in the region of 1630K to 1900K for the hot tank at the specified pressures.
if you play around enough you'll see how difficult it is to start pushing above 75mol and how extreme you have to get with your Hot & Cold tanks.
this of course implies that the game handles the physics perfectly, but it's useful, i think!

at dead pop, having someone with roundstart AA is nice since they can easily fill in for whatever missing jobs are needed, shit like setting up power/cryo or doing research and cargo when no one else has access.
