does this game have some kind of problem with on death mechanics? I died 2x times now to the exact same red explosion on death mechanic. that stupid helltide worm popped out and shat out some monster, they died and with them they exploded killing my character. I dont quite understand how defense/ehp works in this game. my hp doesnt move a single pixel at t12 not even when I intentional try to get hit but then they add these explosions and some weird exponential boss scaling mechanics, for what purpose?

-its good to have a source of fortified and/or barrier
-stacking resists is always good
-endurant faith gloves or charm so you survive the one shot and can see what was killing you so you can avoid it in future.
-moving is always good, plenty of shit should be trying to kill you in higher torments, so moving out of the aoes should be necessary.

Infernal Horde used to be the way to get XP relatively quick, but now it's become a waste of time where you get better XP elsewhere like Undercity orbs. The warplan tree for Infernal Horde was poorly planned.

I need to touch on the topic of inventory and its overall management.
Having recently gone back to D3, to play around out of curiosity I got a harsh reminder how better organization for it was in that game. You had small squares that each type of item could take up from 1 (amulets, rings etc.) to 2 (other gear) slots.
That alone helps with keeping stuff organized. As opposed to D4 where for some reason they decided everything is the same giant ass tile size. How the fuck does that make logical sense?
>inb4 muh consoles
D3 was released on consoles and the tiling works well with a controller. Hell, it's probably the main reason why they went from multi slot D1 and D2 to what we had in D3. And if consoles had to be included that made sense. D4 going full retard on the system doesn't however. Even stash is dumbed down to the point where we have limited icons to differentiate the tabs with. Tabs themselves are in smaller number than the amount of loot you might want to keep (code limitations I know, but it shouldn't have been the case to begin with here)
And a sidenote how terrible the runes problem was solved
>Guys! There were runes you didn't really use so we reduced the 'clutter' and now all of them can fit in your tab
Yeah, if only there was yet another tab for the gems since the tiles/slots are still to big for those....
Anyway, thank you for tuning in for my blog, I needed to vent.

Call me Mephistob Lord of Hatred because boy do I fucking hate this season.
Blizzard definitely just glances at the playerbase and sees the same cucks that infest WoW due to all the skins and absolutely not giving a fuck about releasing broken products because cucks will be cucks and just take it up the ass

Of all the endgame minigame content modes it is the most lackluster. Fun keys for other content modifies them so that something cool happens, good or bad. Keys for IH makes it take even fucking longer.
Honestly it should play like ARPG Killing Floor than whatever the fuck it is now.

Does anyone else have performance issues with this game despite having solid specs?
I get these framedrops and random hiccups sometimes and if I take too many screenshots then the game becomes unplayable and I have to restart it.

the pit: the first floor when you say "something is following me", look around for a scrap of paper and click on it. do this for lvls 1, 6, 11, 16, etc until 101. then spam pit 101 until choron spawns in as the pit boss and you kill him. not sure if this would work if you have "killing the butcher ends the pit level" tho
murlok pet: get lucky fishing. i 100%ed the fishing collection, including all purple fish, and i have not caught the murlock pet.
cow level: yeah it's a grind, but it's fun to moo at your friends and toss them a stamina potionand it's fun to deny randos a moo when they rudely demand it at world boss

Why did the tree just let it happen didn't even put up a fight? I thought it was supposed to be some magical super being? If it could have been destroyed all along by anyone walking by with a lantern how did it survive all this time?

Tyrael specifically mentions no normal fire can burn the tree, and he gives you the (buffed) torch to do it.

I think with d4 they want to give you one extra tab for each expansion you buy. I'm not sure they have thought about it much beyond that.
In d2 the stash was intentionally limited, you were not mean to hoard, it was one of the resources to manage. In the xpac it got expanded, people liked to hoard items. In current form in d2r and mods they have lot of tabs and special tabs for runes.
I don't really have a point other than what has happened with these type of games is that there tends to be more stash over time but never enough people always complain.

I figured I'd go through this season on normal before trying hardcore since I normally play hardcore in arpgs but I am not going to do it for D4 because this game is way, way more unfair bullshit than any other arpg I've played, and that's saying something since I've taken every class in D2 through hardcore Hell and there's some real bullshit in D2R that doesn't scratch what D4 pulls.

Do you care about the story you've seen so far? If so, maybe.
I'd wait until next season regardless unless you really want to push the endgame ASAP. My first character did base game + VoH seasonally and the seasonal gimmicks were a fun distraction while going through the campaigns.

It's just weird the tonal shift when you find the memory of Inarius, immediately my normally pretty reasonable and stoic character called him a "dunce" and over the course of the scene he was called a retard three more times, called weak over and over, etc. This is a guy who has been chained up in Hell for basically eternity being tortured by the literal villain of the game, IDK it just felt like there was aggressive contempt for this character who is at least a little tragic when you think dispassionately about it.
>>
>>
>>2484094
I wouldn't call Lilith "good" desu
Mephisto is also portrayed as shitting and crying when he's defeated so who cares if one angel is depicted as pathetic

Mephisto wasn't fucking his wife in front of him, therefore it is not a cuck chair.
If anything he cucked Mephisto, by fucking his daughter, the Ultimate, Final Cuck, according to the hobbit with the pipe. Not only that, but Lilith is made from Mephisto's essence, so in a way he impregnated Mephisto. If anything Mephisto is the cuck.

you probably can. what class are you playing?
some skills just kind of outright suck though, so if you don't pick at least one of the top ~3 you're gonna be stuck doing jack shit probably. But theres a lot of leeway even if you're not 100% meta to get to at least the 100billions which should let you do t12 content depending on your survivability
to hit 10s of trillions though definitely needs a lot of thought-out synergy which is why its reserved for the more meta builds

inarius is a retard and got what was coming to him for consorting with demons, but my issue w/ the story is like what >>2484085 said; Lilith being turned into a dindu despite letting people get killed and maimed and tortured is just wrong
i know the game lets you pick dialogue choices here n there, and i think it would've been nice if you could at least ultimately pick how your character feels about lilith, instead of fucking spreading her not-ashes into the ocean while sentimental music plays
>>
>>2487702
>instead of fucking spreading her not-ashes into the ocean while sentimental music plays
Biggest issue imo. Even if you're a simp for her there's no denying that Sanctuary is suffering its particular wave of shit right now because of her failed conquest. It's also annoying because she's a fucking Demon and wasn't exiled again, she's just in Hell somewhere reforming and who knows how she'll feel the next time around.
Also, I think Inarius should come back via his "reincarnation" or however you would describe the reformed-but-mindwiped Angel respawn system. As far as I know we've never seen who was confirmed to be reformed from another dead one, even though logically there should be a lot of them, and Blizzard does love redemption stories. Would be nice to see him reborn and re-take control of the Knights Penitent and turn at least some of it into proper paladins and not discount Scarlet Crusaders.
>but the mind wipe...
Just say he was tortured too much for the mindwipe to take full effect or something.

Paragon leveling starts out super quick and will come with anything you do, when it seriously starts to slow down around 125-150 then you focus on grinding it.
Gear matters more imo at that point. If you aren't following a guide this is where you need to be pushing your build to see what works and what doesn't, and if you are then you need to keep an eye out for the gear you need, hunting for aspects, stuff like that. At T1 uniques are few and far between, at around T5 you'll be swimming in them. Read up on the cube but don't worry about it too much for now, just now to save anything ancestral with GAs as it may be useful later. I would also say hold off on transfiguring anything unless you're absolutely sure it's a stopgap piece of gear.
So tl;dr focus on gear, refine your build, fuck around with the cube except transfiguring for now, keep anything with a star for later.
The only other piece of advice is don't sleep on leveling runes. You'll eventually get them all so figure out 3-4 to focus on.

Thanks, the game’s systems seem to open up quite a bit from the 60-70 range, Lair Boss, Pit, Nightmare Dungeons, Undercity all of it wtaf. I’ve just been salvaging everything I don’t use up to this point. But I’ll keep it in mind. I’m running a sorcerer and so far the game has been pretty breezy, just playing around with stacking ferocity and shooting blue balls at everything. Although my build does feel to be slowing down unless Unstable Currents, I think it’s called, the ultimate power, is online. I’ll have a look tomorrow if there’s better builds out there for the spec.
>>
>>2487803
just spam warplans. theres alot of power in the paragon nodes. some builds need a certain paragon setup to actually work. gearwise I would target required uniques from lairbosses. also dont be afraid to use the cube. mid items can easily be crafted into decent ones

d4 has always had the multiplicative damage --but it's nice now that the elements etc can also partake of that. idk why you're mad about it--it used to be only crit and vuln. it's a lot broader now! heck even "damage on time" is valid, never thought i'd see the day

It's fun, but I'd get it on sale. Game could use a big balance patch too to rough out the more fucked up bits from launch. Also, the next season should start in early July right around the steam summer sale where it should go on a decent discount.

The benefit is that you'll get to natively use all the aspects of Steam with it.
The downside is cosmetics are buggy on Steam (you have to do a lot of Hold M1, click M2, then release M1 to equip things) whereas the wardrobe just works on Bnet.

for what it's worth: i played d3 with a fren, and when d4 launched, he didn't want to learn new systems (old retired guy), so he stayed with d3. maybe 4 seasons ago, i talked him into trying out d4, and he hasn't gone back to d3 at all since.
i think it's hit a sweet spot with the recent expansion update: casuals can just get on and quickly do the season journey and leave, and other people who want to grind for the flawless horadric gems and crazy transmutes and achievement thingies (and i guess leaderboard, but without ssf it's stupid, anyway i digress) can play longer.

what should a fresh 70, just finished campaign character do
i took a minibreak after the campaign and i have the warplan "quest" next.

>what should a fresh 70, just finished campaign character do
Helltides, nightmare dungeon keys (save any that have the Horadric storageroom or whatever affix until around torment 5), and lair bosses. You'll also end up completing a lot of whispers between all of these. Around t3/t4 start doing pit runs regularly and level your shit.

Okay I played a little and got to Torment 2
My gear are still all 850 except for the one piece of 900 Ancestral from turning in at the tree. Is this just how you upgrade basically? Just more turn ins at the tree? When can I expect 900+ gear to drop normally

Echo of Lilith exists solely for challenges. Her fight is full of bullshit 1-shots, and to reinforce this she has both a dropshit AND incredibly small loot table for drops. If you need to gear up do literally any other lair or greater lair boss.

I've got arthritis and the go to for me when I don't want to click a lot is rogue dance of knives or barbarian whirlwind. Both builds are pretty strong this season as well so you won't even feel gimped.

You don't have to click it almost ever with dance of knives. You can increase the time it lasts on the shadow one to make it infinite and the poison one almost double the time. Trust me it's absurdly comfy you won't find another build that pushes less buttons.

Yeah, I have been on the look out for them.
I'm a little perplexed where I can squeeze out more stats to get into T10. I have done as much tempering, masterworking and socketing as I (reasonably) can on the few decent ancestral pieces I have. I know there's technically a few more thing I can do but I figured that would be the kind of min/maxxing autism that's needed for T12, not to just get your toes into T10...

i tempered and masterworked and socketed and cubed my gear and i was able to unlock and consistently clear t10 purely off intuition

using prisms means i could target shit directly
i didnt even use any uniques because i didnt know where to get the ones for my specific build
i think my paragon board is severely unoptimized as well

>>
>>
>>

Bro you should have masterworked your weapon beforehand. Now you cant masterwork it anymore because of terrible fucking game design. Transfiguring is the final step to your item. Your gem strength could have been 250-300 since it scales with masterworking. Goodluck bro

>just chase absurdly rare GA? and grind gem fragment
For gearing, yes.
For goals, you either try to finish the end season milestones or clear pit 150. Both are rather nebulous and don't mean anything.
>end game falls flat for me
Same. Sometimes I think Torment 10 or so should open up the option to replay the campaign and try to finish it on a much harder difficulty just to have a bigger sense of finality. But then there's the argument of "well Echo of Mephisto is right there if you want to fight him again." I hate to just compare it to WoW but I feel at least with WoW your "endgame" is way more clearly defined and goes to much greater lengths to give you something to gawk at for whatever your achievements that phase were.

warplans need some work. if my glyphs are all lvl 130, why are pits still in my warplans, i don't want to do them. putting things in the pits to give you 50k gold or a merchant that sells 0GA items for artificers stones isn't making it enticing enough to do. it's 1 minute that i would rather be spending elsewhere. maybe they should add an activity tree node letting you pay in artificers stones or choron's tears to skip a pit but say you did it. butcher never spawned in.
mythic seal is garbage. for the specific affixes on it that you need for your build, you'd need more than just 1 to drop to have the chances to get something useable. legendary seals only giving you starter-set affixes and not class-set affixes needs to be fixed.
loot filter is a blessing. the amount of nonancestral crap that i filter out constantly on t12 is mindboggling. i couldn't imagine playing without a loot filter.
flawless horadric gems are STRONG. it's a nice retard casuals filter concept, but i guess they could RMT buy them if they really felt like it. duping is apparently still going strong, and let's be real: the RMT probably kicksback to blizzard anyway.
endgame loop that's left after 100%ing season journey: mindlessly run seer's reach for gems. run obols escalations to gamble for weapons to gamble for gem strength. leaderboard is stupid pointless since only 3rd party software hackers with their 12GA items are going to be on it. GGs, the season lasted longer than usual!

noone has that achievement. it's bugged (probably) or attached to some kind of obscure non-sidequest (cause i already 100%ed those) sidequest that takes you up to 2 tiny areas by the skovos world boss in the mountain. if you cursor over the map, those are the only 2 areas that say "undiscovered" in skovos.

If the very concept of a seasonal realm offends you then there's always Grim Dawn. Otherwise I don't know what to tell you, because the entire point of this specific diablo-like genre is about rerunning the content but with what's supposed to be a fun new build.
>>
>>2508785
That's it. That's the endgame. 99% of Uniques are completely worthless even if theyre for your build. Your only option is to find a blue or yellow drop with 2+ greater affixes (* attributes) and pray the RNG helps when transfiguring in the cube.

Seasonal games are complete jewish cancer. It's a lazy and boring design that gets low IQ gamers to keep repeating the same slop over and over instead of inventing longterm rewards for time invested. I'm old enough to remember enjoying MMOs and AARPGs before "seasonal" was ever a thing.

ARPGs? Like what, D1 and D2? I guess if you liked running the same boss for 25 years you could go play D2 again?

>to keep repeating the same slop over and over
Again, that's the point of the genre, with the added emphasis that randomized loot, enemies, and environments altogether are supposed to give you a different experience every time. If you are truly a fellow unc I'm sure you can then remember David Brevik's thoughts on the matter when he pitched the game in the first place.
I'm not saying that "seasons=good", but that seasons aren't at all antithetical to the genre. By design you are supposed to beat final boss, think it was fun, and try it again while experiencing it differently. The random elements provide that different experience via subtle means while (modern) seasons are a jackhammer that forces the issue through whatever mechanic they introduce. And if that style offends you, and you DON'T want to play the optional version which avoids them (eternal realms), then the only thing I can suggest is something else. It's up to you to take it or leave it because I guarantee seasons aren't leaving PoE or Diablo, and they are easily the big two series of the genre.
>>2508963
I didn't want to just say "then gb2diablo2 faggot" because he's probably already played it (same with D1) and new versions do have seasons. I'm also suggesting Grim Dawn because it's a fantastic game, it's getting another expansion this year, has a sequel planned, and has no seasonal wipes or mechanics. It even has metaprogression he's asking for with "...longterm rewards for time invested."
But besides GD it's hard to think of anything else. Tower of Kalemonvo I guess? That's fun if you really like D1 but don't want to replay D1.

To be honest, the big reveal that Lilith's plan was to use a magical macguffin knife to end the Eternal Conflict is rather frustrating.
It just feels strange that a demon, even if she is the daughter of one of the primes, can just sort of whip up an artifact that can more or less permanently destroy prime evils and presumably archangels as well. It feels cheap, like it disobeys the rules of the setting.
It also feels lazy that it's just a knife made from a bone.
>>
What I'd do is let plays revisit seasons whenever and completing a season gives a bonus to your characters accountwide in other seasons, and clicking any button meant to take you to a leaderboard kills you irl instantly.
>>
>>2510522
But she didnt end the eternal conflict, Baal and Diablo are still around
And if she can be summoned back frmo the Void, so can Meph one day
It just puts a very long pause, at least from the perspective of humans, on Meph coming back
>>
>>
>>
>>2510636
I didnt criticize her plan
I think she and (You) made the best out of what they had at the start of LoH.
In fact, unlike most of you third worlders who get extremely butthurt at female characters being redeemed, I'm fine with her making the sacrifice to give you a shot to banish Meph since she's the Mother of Sanctuary after all.

>To be honest, the big reveal that Lilith's plan was to use a magical macguffin knife to end the Eternal Conflict is rather frustrating.
Her plan was to eat her dad then 2v1 Diablo and Baal somehow. All while hoping the angels do nothing, but at least that part seems solid as the high heavens do jack shit in the lore post Diablo fucking 1.

Even if the Prime Evils are defeated they will return... unless banished to "the Void" which exists, apparently, but be careful, if someone performs a very specific ritual involving three people dying in a location that has nothing to do with the imprisoned person, which must be performed at a location that has nothing to do with them and isn't even remotely near where the imprisoning happened, anyway here are instructions Elias for how to do it, I guess Inarius wrote them down or something. You have quite a treasure there in that bone knife, it can banish anything to the Void if stabbed into them, you see when a demon removes a part of themself to make a knife, that knife has the power to banish anything to the Void, or at least that's what happens when Lilith makes a bone knife, but it makes her permanently weaker though still strong enough to rip off Inarius's wings so by permanently weaker I mean like 5% weaker or something. Anyway the knife should work on a Prime Evil if you ever need it since despite Lilith knowing how and why to make this, her own father Mephisto has no idea whatsoever what it does and harbors zero suspicion that it does anything despite knowing intimately who created it and what she's capable of. And she was a good friend.

Who here has killed Mephisto echoing Torment 10?
What did you use? Was it a close, “proper” fight or were you already overpowered by then walked all over him? How much investment was on that character? Did you min/max with every upgrade path available or were you kind half geared with just the essentials to make your build work?
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>2511713
i killed him t10 solo before min/maxing my build. was probably/maybe not even paragon 200. not using any infinite-damage bugs at all. it was a "proper" fight in that i had to dodge attacks and learn his phases while cutting down his health bar. it took a couple tries, but it was fun when i succeeded.
now my paragon is over 275, min/maxed build, flawless horadric, and yeah it's a fast and ez fight.

so I casually played this game over the past 2 weekends and noticed "resolve" and the damage/defense scaling that comes with it. my character has 58 resolve stacks and each stack give 4% raw damage reduction per resolve capped at 85%. so my guess is any build that cant utilize this mechanic is pretty much useless because how also are you supposed to get 6x more ehp from a single aspect? are the devs incompetent or whats the deal here? it also gives me 116% more damage on top of that lol

The resolve stack issue has come up before so no clue why they allowed it to get so out of hand
What's likely is that no one in QA played Resolve stack build or tested tempering it as that's what's bugged out
The non-bugged limit should be 4 GA Temper and 5 GA with the masterwork GA hit, not the current 12 which seems to be applying the old 1.5x GA stat instead of the current 1.25x
No other temper does this in my experience so it was likely completely untested
These builds and Glynns Anvil aspect will likely still be viable next season after the temper levels are fixed, but not as crazy as it currently is
By comparison, Ferocity has a hard cap of 15 and there's no bugs related to it, so those builds got dunked on
Druid is basically almost all Werebear forms due to Resolve stacking and a ring that gives 13%x damage per stack

I just got to torment 10, and i already have some incredible bases for my end game items, but i am way too scared to improve on them at all. i really dont want to brick certain items.
>>
>>2514248
the only way to brick an item is by doing transfiguring, but the meta that poopsockers came up with involves getting 9001 ancestral items and churning them through the cube until you get +gem strength% as an affix while keeping it modifiable
it's two different 5% rolls
otherwise just transfigure your mythic unique gear after you temper and masterwork and socket them and you'll be fine for most stuff since it's impossible to mess those up, the worst thing that can happen is getting a low roll

evade counterswarm or whatever is called is fun. movement speed is usually capped around 200% and in some cases 300% but since you are using evade to move around it feels more like 500+%. Idk about others but

I haven't been able to play all week due to packet loss, waiting for a new router to come in Friday. My Rogue is in T8 running Dance of Knives, I'm way behind on paragon and glyphs though, think my glyphs are all around 30ish and my paragon is 140ish.
Is Dance of Knives capable of clearing this season fairly easily if I just grind out some paragon+glyphs? Or am I going to really need to milk affixes and stuff to get it there?

i 100%ed season on DoK rogue. it's easy, fun, strong.
i followed m1py on mobalytics "spellbound IS" build (idk if he's changed it since weeks ago) but without the bugged spellbound talisman set --use the sightless set, it's a lot stronger. and then take out the points in the extra imbuements and put them elsewhere. screw combo points and i didn't do the nades either for his "main build" or whatever, distance is fine. don't wear tyrael's and use a legendary chest with glynn's anvil: then give yourself a point under concealment for resolve. for bosses: make a separate legendary dagger with crushing aspect on it and swap that for the purple sword; also for bosses, switch out cowl of the nameless charm for rustbitten dirk charm.
anyway should be easy enough to run pits until your glyphs are 100--don't sleep on glyph levels. GLHF
>>
>>2517391
it's also set up perfectly for mtx --how many people do you see in town and at WB with the doom or wow armor + weapons cosmetics on? as long as d4 is bringing in money, i think they'll keep it going.
>>2517432
but also this, i think someone at blizz has even said "yes there will be a d5 in the future" or something to that effect
>>
>>2517288
yeah i got the game off humble bundle and bought the expac and did dance of knives ice rogue and cleared everything just fine
i didnt even look up guides or anything i just stacked a bunch of stuff together and it worked
then after i felt hard walled i looked up some guides and tweaked things a bit to be more optimal but like the other anon said, i didnt bother w/ combo points, personally i did inner sight, that shit is dope
>>
>>2517607
I am running pretty much the exact DoK sightless build that maxroll recommends under midgame atm, the only thing is I have not yet found a crushing aspect some-fucking-how. It's very similar to the mobalytics one you mentioned though, using sightless, concealment, shrouded gift, glynn's anvil, etc. I steamroll t8 but Lilith is giving me trouble, I think glyphs and paragon levels would push me just over the edge to handle her, thanks for the advice.
Mostly was just anxious because I hear the jump from t8 to t10 is enormous and it's not clear to me how I can easily enhance my build other than glyphs+paragon, since optimizing the affixes on gear is confusing and overwhelming to me as a new player.
Just fucking annoying, feel like I could have gotten a lot done if my router didn't crap out on me.
>>
>>2517391
It is but Blizzard likes to make Diablo games because they make an absolute shit-ton of money on release. Even moreso on what >>2517612 was saying they also mentioned the wait for D5 won't be as long as the wait between D3 and D4. Also some Diablo dev went to a AAA gaming conference and said it takes anywhere from 5 to 7 years to make a AAA game unless they're having issues.
So if D5 went into production right after D4 it has about 2-4 years left. That said, I doubt that's the case because we know D4 only went into production sometime after D3's first expansion. Given that we're already on expansion #2 and it seems to have done well I think D4 has at least 2 more expansions in it, possibly 3. If we get an announcement at blizzcon this year then we are definitely closer to 3. Expansion sales aren't as great as new game release sales but it's a hell of a lot cheaper and quicker to make them.
>>
>>
>>
>>2517686
well if you're using a bunch of rings with max life and life on hit affixes, and your weapons have like physical damage multipliers on them, you're not going to get very far. as far as that goes, yeah you kinda DO need to get the right stats on your gear. you definitely don't need greater affixes of the stats at all --but you need to have the right affixes on.
it's do-able with the cube, but you have to do it right. if you get a GA stat on a blue or yellow that you want to keep, "enchant" it at the occultist but don't replace it to anything/cancel it out. then it locks it in, so you can remove all the other garbage stats in the cube and add the stats you want (and remove the crappy ones it gives you and try to add the stats you want in, repeat ad nauseum) and eventually get all the things you want on the item in the cube (n.b. it will NOT roll "+ all skills" in the cube)

>>
>>
>>2518516
i wouldn't let it bother you too much: they will probably do with d4 like they did with d3, and when the game is about to roll over to the next diablo iteration, they will give out the old season rewards extra in the season journey. i'm guessing anyway, it's low hanging fruit.

>weapon with GA on DoT or poison KEEP
>dagger/sword with GA on weapon damage KEEP
>roll weapon damage off your bow cause you don't use it, much better rolling that to dex or max life and then having the DoT and poison damage affixes
and then yeah you do need a fair amount of the offensive cube mats to keep rerolling after you remove the crappy stats that it tries to give you. it takes some getting used to, and it takes some quality cube time to get what you want. but then you just enchant the aspect on it, socket, and you're good to go! i think i used the "avoid best and worst transfigures" cube mat on my original gear, but now i don't use it and see what i get (indestructible a lot of times kek)

I feel it's similar to UI "designers". They need to change already existing designs to justify their position. It could be the same thing here. Removing set stats from mythics then making us fish for them in the cube is peak tedium for no reason. Adding RNG layers when chasing greater affixes is already enough RNG layers. Removing, then adding back in an endless loop has been the entire life Diablo 4 development.

What Jaguar skill changes did we need bro? They feel fine to me except a few of the switched main hall upgrades being ass across the board and the Harmony of Ebewaka bug. imagine you took the Jaguar upgrade on Rock Splitter or Eagle on Thrash, and use Ebewaka, the original spirit of that skill, Gorilla and Jaguar respectively, will not add the 30%x damage for being a tag via Main OR Secondary hall bonus.
So that's a net buff. Rezokas set being hard to stack sucks balls as well as the buff dropping off so fast
Big buffs to Core and Basic skill builds via the Ebewaka fix and changes to Kepeleke and Sepazontec.

yeah you salvage gear that you find, and it all becomes transmogrifiable like d3. there is a wardrobe icon when you open your inventory, so you can change your look whereever you are, or you can find an interactable wardrobe in a bedroom in town and change your look there. it doesn't cost gold to change your look, and it doesn't cost gold to recolor your garb (unlike d3).

where are the last 2 areas of skovos??
i'm thinking: after the phix quest, you can talk to her 3 times, and she's always kind of pointing at a demon statue each time, with her right next to one at the wall of wishes area. if you jump down that one path, there is a demon statue there. is it like the original base game secret quest where you have to emote at 3 statues to unlock the hidden title? do you have to emote something at the statues to unlock a path near WB area that says "undiscovered"

Yeah it's worded poorly.
Go to Cerrigar, find a thing on the map called "The Pit" in town, start a run of it on the highest number you can. You unlock higher tiers of Torment by beating higher levels of The Pit and The Pit itself is used for leveling up Glyphs. If you're unfamiliar with Glyphs, they're things you stick in empty Paragon board spaces.

>gravitate to Rogue and DoK on my own cus it's fun
>dying stupidly easy to all of the gay mechanics so I try glynn's anvil on recommendation
>fixes all my problems (still dangerous but I have leeway to make mistakes)
>find out that the thing I just organically gravitated to that doesn't even feel that good is too much for blizz and needs to be ruined
Yeah, I'm not coming back for next season.

>I got an extra crux to drop
Nice.
(You) and every other Rogue here in /d4g/ has been playing your class wrong. I've been farming Pit 150 to max out all my glyphs in under 3 minutes. I did 2,310,000T damage about 10 minutes ago.
This is the most straight-forward explaination

>No mention of visual effects getting cleared up?
Blizz just needs to add an option for visual clarity. Dunno why they haven't by now. Yea theres the option to make your char more visible, but it only helps if you're behind a pillar or something. Just remove all the spell eye cancer on screen.

I am playing the easiest build of the xpac (WW selig) and do around 20-50T crits and dont die unless in pit or sometimes mephisto if I dont use endurant faith charm. i'd hit higher but I spent 500 dust and never got gem strength+modifiable on a 2hander
what are you playing

Well, I did it
Turns out the the difference between doing no damage and doing enough was just having heir of perdition.
First time doing Seasonal stuff, got a lot of hours out of it but having all that progress reset is gonna be weird.

the patch notes suck, and i don't expect next season to be super fun. but this is just what happens in d4, it'll be fun again at some point. and the streamers will put together something that works so you can get through next season, it's just not going to be WW barb or DoK or that strong sorc build
>>
>>2531200
I'm just tired of Blizzard's heavy-handedness. I quit WoW during Legion because I was playing a Windwalker monk and I was tired of them repeatedly changing Fists of Fury, it's a series of stuns, now it's one stun, now it's a slow, etc. I just got tired of picking to play something, then having the rug pulled under me.

Devs must hate being popular with the crowd for making good content and enjoyable builds players like to play. I've looked up all the patch notes, classes included, and forgetting recycled realmwalkers all of this just made me decide not to even touch D4 next season. There's no reason for me to play it, not even transmogs are worth the hassle if I'm subjecting myself to sifting through tons of RNG gear to get the perfect roll on a build that will be gimped because mr. dev thought I had too much time with my WW barb (for example).
This perennial reinventing the wheel has to stop.

but when the patch drops for next season, all of those mythics in eternal realm are going to be "legacy" unusable gear. and whatever build you did this season is going out the window next season on eternal as well. so yeah it's a restart the next season, but it's really the only way to play d4. eternal players just constantly bashing their heads against the wall

i just quickly slapped this together, but as an example:
>used to be max lvl at 60 with max paragon. now this char would have to re-level up to the new level 70 in order to slot all the paragon points that were already earned
>the old "not frequently used" runes that they took out of the game with expansion launch insta-changed to whatever random runes in your eternal stash box
>old boss mats, incense, potions, etc not usable any more
>a long time ago that lvl 540 item was max level and the best, but idk the stat squish happened or expanded again or whatever, so it is what it is now. i guess they took the "legacy" tag off of it --hadn't checked eternal for a long time until you asked about it
anyway, eternal is really a character graveyard and museum. i think the only time i ever went back to eternal realm was to use up the stockpiled baneful hearts when i was working on the "kill 666 blood maidens" achievement (tedious). it was a lonely dire weird place.
>>
>>2532642
oh yeah forgot to mention
>shroud of false death didn't retain its old stats, even though it was obviously acquired before they changed it this season.
so maybe they are moving away from "legacy"ing items and just changing them automatically for you now idk. just avoid eternal realm, anon.

I didn't play it at launch only a few weeks of last season and this one
it was pretty fun (completed everything I wanted to this season), like a casual poe. not as fun or deep but a good middle ground that didnt require me to sit on trade sites to get a good build

>like a casual poe. not as fun or deep
All true, but at the same time idk, I'm playing poe2 now (even bought it), I'm enjoying it, but man do I miss the "spend a talent point to make a change an abilities spell school." I've seen one support gem so far that kinda works like that but not really. For as much as Blizzard fucked up and continues to fuck up other areas of the game I still REALLY like that revision and wish we saw more of it. Grim Dawn handles it pretty well too. For a casual faggot like me the extra dash of build leeway to cobble together your own memeshit is so nice.

>get bored in 10 levels
>try warlock

I'm going to fucking brain myself I swear to god
What's a class/build YOU find satisfying to play? Either due to power or visceral animations/feeling of the class
>>
>>
>>2534923
I like autistic leveling and I'm not in a rush to reach the endgame, choosing a fun class to stick with is the problem for me most of all. I'm thinking about trying spiritborn again but it all felt like slapping people with wet noodles
>>
>finished VoH + LoH stories
>got to torment 12
>beat meph (t10)
>got most of the dark citadel cosmetics
>unlocked most legendary/unique cosmetics
>played three characters (spiritborn, paladin, barb)
Have two more crux I can use to maybe get the last mythic unique transmog i dont have but I honestly think I'm done?
Will the new seasons really differ that much in terms of the core gameplay?
>>
>>

thats not true
expert/penitent do not require proper builds. if you just skill properly and upgrade your shit you're gonna be slapping the shit out of enemies with whatever you're comfortable with even with random gear

Is there some sort of Heirloom-equivalent from WoW to help levelling characters? I'm pretty new but I've got a Druid and a Barbarian to 70, trying Paladin nowbut it's a bit of a slog just running dungeon after dungeon and replacing all my gear every few levels.
>>
When I look at builds online I see points thrown into a bunch of extra skills, is that just so they aren't sitting there with the notification? Like the build is telling me to take and keep reap on a minion/curse necro build and seems like a wasted point
>>
>>2539922
As far as I know you wont have anything that auto scales from lvl 1 to 70, like how a heirloom Arcanite Reaper or whatever works
The "heirloom" equivalent would just be saving up a bunch of Whisper cache on your main and let your alt open them so they're instantly lvl 70 from the exp orbs that drop to the ground
I forgot the number I think it might have been 7 whisper caches? Dont quote me on this though.

I'm having trouble doing enough damage to kill T10 Echo of Mephisto on my DoK Rogue. I am trying to find the easiest ways to eke out more damage. How high should I shoot for my glyphs and paragon level to be before I need to blame something else for my damage problems?

What do you guys do at the end of a season?
I've never done end game until now so I'm going to make a bunch of alts of other classes and burn the boss trophies on them for the uniques then dismantle for cosmetic unlock

Infernal Hordes
>half as many rounds that last twice as long
>higher likelihood of getting "spawns x event at wave start" modifiers at the very beginning
>soulspire radius expanded or move spawn points inside the radius
>aether fiends no longer do that dumb fucking birth animation, nor require you to be near it to start the animation
>don't despawn anything at wave end, let events finish out
I played WW barb (just came back for about a week since dropping it shortly after launch), which should be the most fun archetype to enjoy this mode. Played a bit with minion necro and it was way less fun, noticed with the barb ancients too that summons are allergic to going inside the soulspire radius and will park at the edge and prevent enemies from going in which is very annoying. If the mode's not going to get a complete rework, at least just a few of those things could help alot with the fun factor. I did start having a bit of fun with it around torment 3, with chaos waves, or for the last like 8 seconds of a round before everything despawns, once thing start feeling hectic, then it feels like the game is just arbitrarily blocking the fun. If it were to get a complete rework I do like the other anon's idea of something akin to killing floor, something where enemies come to you would be neat, especially with some skills being more like traps - rogue trap, the druid landslide morph, or necro's corpse explosion poison gas morph, and those just don't feel like they gel with the perpetual forward motion encouraged in most game modes. It's also just silly to go to the literal gates of hell, where the climax of the main campaign happens, just to turn it into a silly gameshow activity.
