Yeah seems about right. I wonder what the floor will be, because I'm not one to really trust game updates to SAVE the population or make it 300k or something. The Finals seems to be chugging along just fine with only a meager 10k average here and there.

Wallhackers are an issue apparently. Not unique to Arc Raiders, but there's some evidence they don't care.
Streamers (I know) like Burnt Peanut said the Devs gave them phone numbers and to reach out to them about any issues. Burnt Peanut texted them to tell them about repeat offender wallhack/aimbotters and were left on read.
At that point a lot of them dropped the game for Rust and other games they can kind of control.

yeah thats insane. itd be one thing if they never did that, but to give the big streamers their phone number, only to not give a shit about the most egregious hackers and cheaters. no wonder tfue left.
with all those millions youd think theyd hire at least one janny to watch the big streamers and quickly ban all the repeat offenders on the streams but no.

All the tranny-coded shit they did never sat right with me. Not surprised to find out they are shitting the bed with this.
Seems similar to Arrowhead, they stumbled into a hit and have no idea what to do with it.
I wonder if these devs secretly hope for a Concord situation so they can collect unemployment and not have to do anything.

PvEers playing shopping mall slot machine simulator have finally grown bored
PvPers are sick of hackers. Even the hackers are sick of other hackers there are so many. You can read them complaining about it on hack dev forums
PvE is sick of nerf focused swede balancing
PvP balancing doesn't even happen. Took months to nerf trigger nades
New content is mostly a map made of reused assets and a couple useless trinkets
Devs have the core gameplay of something fun but clearly no cohesive vision/direction for it

>PvP balancing doesn't even happen. Took months to nerf trigger nades
Yeah it is so frustrating. The shitty pvp balance had been obvious since before launch and the swedes still needed half a year to nerf the biggest offenders. I don't have years in the game industry and as a game designer but even I knew that all that was needed to do was make torro 3 pump shields and slow the fire rate. Why they needed months to come to that realization is beyond me.
Doesn't help that the new weapons they introduce are worse than their lower counterparts. Dolobra, Canto, Rascal, all so awful. Worse than the options are tier below them.

look at tarkov, you can level up hideout, traders, factions, multiple high levels that require certain keys to unlock. there is a proper sense of progression as you go through the levels.
in arc, you spam stella for the highest loot map in the game, complete your 3 benches and you finished the game. there is no proper sense of progression as you move through levels, you can immediately go to stella and make out like a bandit. some grey weapons are better than blue weapons. gear is all fucked power level wise.
what resource sinks? the trader? oh yes that is very fun, spend 200k in arc parts, no you cant gradually turn it in, it has to be all at once for 12 more stash slots. or maybe 400k for a shitty skin that nobody wants or 3 rare ass ducks you need to spam bird city that pops up at 11 in the morning for a... power rod which you will be able to make anyways because you have level 3 benches by the time you unlock the trader. there hasnt been a legit resource sink added to the game unless you think needing to craft a wolfpack with a rocketeer driver counts. it does not.
>>
>>2549348
dont forget the stash goes away on expedition, idk about other people, but why would I waste 200k when I'm planning to do the expedition
I'm not even buying expedition vault slots, because knowing embark, they are just going to lock again once you take the item out, and you have ro repurchase it
if I'm wrong, then cool, its something to work for, but otherwise it all seems like a waste, I already have 316 slots from expedition, and I play the game enough that I bought it a second time for a mule alt

>Blue Gate extract near the warehouse, guy hiding in those small little huts
>Down him
>Had hullcracker, 2 anvils and defibs and a looting mk3 cautionary
Managed to defib the other guy, and some third guy came along wanting to play sheriff but we both left. What a weird loadout though, had a total PvE loadout and yet for whatever reason started shooting the other guy. Makes me wonder if maybe the guy I saved was the agressor but I wasn't going to ask politely if he started it or not but that PvE loadout he had made me have second thoughts. Why bring that into a raid if youre just going to randomly shoot some guy running down the hill to extract?

They really don't understand where the problems lie, like Arrowhead. I'm guessing they opportunistically PvP on mild-PvP lobbies with a lot of camping etc. The equivalent to the helldivers devs playing on difficulty 4
Also, what the hell was the second kettle nerf. Busted OP for like 4 months, they nerf it with the stitcher finally and make them appropriate for their tier. Then they have like some deranged urge to show the community they're listening so they nerf it again to bb gun tier

This BP system is so unfun and aids. Who the hell thought id'd be fun to have one of the most important items in the game be complete RNG? No strategy other than
>on the off chance there is a special modifier that increases your chance to find BPs by 2%, spam that and just open a million containers bro. isnt that fun? maybe you get lucky on the first one, maybe the millionth one. isnt gambling cool!?
I was in two night raids before this, nothing. First container on Bird City, immediate BP. That isnt fun. I did not have a fun journey on my way to the BP I just got lucky. They need a better system than this.

hd2 birthed a wave of entitled faggots bullying devs into submission to ruin games for their short-sighted dopamine injection so I do believe that they should be told to fuck off entirely in their attempts to infest other games.
almost every issue can be tracked down to separating pve and pvp both literally and balance-wise.
most importantly the cycle of loot is fucked because it is essentially free with nowhere to put it, pvp was supposed to slow the progression and create purpose for loot
and what do people do in a game about loot where loot is meaningless? they leave.
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>2552538
I freaking hate the hd2 faggots
they keep whinging about their terrible devs yet they keep playing their shit game
then they bring their shit attitudes into other game spaces projecting their insecurities
embark are lazy faggots, but they haven't actively "ruined" the game by making nonsensical changes
everything balancing update they've done has been for the better, it's just that they're so disgustingly slow at doing anything at all
and yeah, the existence of ABMM made loot entirely meaningless, only so that the retarded gaymerdads can play their grocery list shopping simulator and then wonder why the game is dying when the gameplay loop is completely solved by just NOT engaging with the game
and these fucking entitled dadfaggots are so delusional that they believe that LEANING INTO the pve side of the game would somehow save it, when the core game isn't even built for that kind of gameplay
GOD I hate these faggots that can't think objectively about game design because they are so blinded by their own personal experience to such a point that they don't even care about how mechanics work in tandem
>>

>>2553076
I quit after the Cyberstan reveal/debacle. I also found the PSN review bombing cringe as hell tho.
I also quit Arc Raiders after 2 games. Dadgamers have aged out of our time being wasted by rats hiding by extracts. I get the PvE depriving you of prey, but they probably wouldn't be playing anyways.
Enjoy your tranny game.

Yeah the abmm will be the death of the game. It was someone's kneejerk short term solution to keep around 10 million gamer dads who bought something they didn't understand, but in the end I do think it'll seal the games untimely death. It just undermines too much of the game's design. It's good that Embark is sort of ignoring them beyond adding abmm, and their balancing is generally good though slow as fuck, but the damage is done.
That said the helldiver devs are morons who can barely play their own game and the super helldive players balance complaints are legitimate. Arrowhead seems almost belligerent in their ensuring 3/4 of gear is useless at high tiers and balancing exclusively for difficulty 5 instead. The players still playing are probably retarded though, yeah.

Uhh, the game has a polar opposite problem, shit is so easy you literally can't cripple yourself enough by any means available for D10 to become even close to "hard".
The gameplay was dumbed down to a point where if you're not a drooling retard you're probably already asleep 1/3rd into the mission.

>Yeah the abmm will be the death of the game.
ABMM is fine. A lot of people are not in pure PvE lobbies so they won't have the loot and shit be ruined. The real problems as been explained in the thread are numerous
>Slow as fuck to update balancing issues, especially the pvp side of things
>Content that just wasnt hitting (new arc being glorified redesigns instead of something unique, new weapons and tools sucking ass, canto, golden shotgun, the zap placement)
>progression is out of whack, no clear progression path
>not too much content
>no deep resource timesinks that feel worth it, durability stuff doesnt count because you basically are punished for trying to use your weapons and playing the game not fun, benches are a good sink because you pour time and resources into them and you get better access to equipment. but that is it, past the benches what else is there to do? not much.
>cheaters out the ass no explanation needed here
so as fun and fluid as the base gameplay is, a game about looting has the loot economy out of whack, with weak content additions and cheaters is going to lose players. lets hope the october adds some good weapons, some unique arc enemies, they do something about cheaters, the skill tree rework isnt a meme and the new map is good. the game needs it.
>>
>>2553931
>ABMM is fine. A lot of people are not in pure PvE lobbies so they won't have the loot and shit be ruined.
there are people literally begging me to shoot them in a third of my mixed lobbies, shit is not alright at all.
the system itself isn't evil per se, but it's the fact that it's being used for segregation instead of moderation.
>>
>>
>>
>>2553992
>there are people literally begging me to shoot them in a third of my mixed lobbies, shit is not alright at all.
thats how people are, even people who camp you and lose the fight will beg for their lives instead of saying GG. if ABMM is removed tomorrow the far bigger and more pressing issues would still be there. augs feeling like poo is a more important issue than ABMM. no endgame would still be there without ABMM. cheaters would still be there.
>>
>>2554262
sure, but you can't fix endgame when abmm makes loot irrelevant, no matter how much content there will be it's gonna dry out in days (or even hours) due to abmm
the only thing you can do is throw obscene requirements at players like the new trader which will just become boring because it's grind for the sake of grind, a bandaid to a core issue.
every other complaint still stands, but those are minor to how severely this one thing undermines the entire gameplay loop
>>
>>2554291
>when abmm makes loot irrelevant
thats not abmm, loot is irrelevant because the loot is irrelevant. every other aug would still be shit because of survivor is just superior on all fronts. heavies would still be a bad option. canto would still suck ass. every legendary gun would still suck except for the jupiter. there would still be nothing to do after you complete your benches. i could load into stella even though its a pvp hellscape and shove important things up my ass 30 seconds into the match and suicide. trials would still be retarded and gay. abmm is not the root issue. its not like a majority of the player base are in friendly pve lobbies either, its a small minority. the majority are in some type of mixed or straight pvp lobbies and people still left because there is an issue with the gear and progression in the game.
>>
>>2554344
i'm not saying that augs don't need a rework or shields don't need buffs.
i'm saying that the only people who are still progressing in the system are people who frequently pvp, because that's the only loot sink and friction mechanism designed to play the "loss" part of the loot loop.
getting rid of the only loss mechanism in what's supposed to be a loot carousel is as close as it gets to a fundamental problem.
you can clearly see that everyone who was even as much as friendly-adjacent is just flat out gone because they received no pushback to their progress.
can you supplement the loot loop with other "loss" mechanisms? yes you can, but it's pretty much undeniable that death by players is the only one currently available.
and even if other issues are to be fixed, abmm will still serve to polarize wealth groups practically killing the mid-tier equipment layer; fuck it's happening even now when people regularly "go to farm" before pvping, hell I did it too, and so did everyone I know.
"most people don't do that" is a crazy statement when we have people begging for death.
>>
>>
>>
>>2554472
but it really isnt the biggest issue. tarkov has two distinct modes, actually separate and the pve mode still allows hundreds of hours and many people enjoy it, so much that nikita kneeled to their demands and released an official version of pve. at least in arc a person can still kill you in the most carebear of lobbies.
abmm is removed, people adjust and it takes them a couple days or a week later to finish the benches. ok then what? nothing, which is the bigger problem. no factions to level up, no traders, the skill tree sucks and doesnt allow distinct characters, trials suck, BP hunting suck. cheaters. why would i ever use the hullcracker or kill the queen? abmm removed tomorrow doesnt solve that. people dying a little more to advance the nothing progression of workbenches and the timeline of finishing benches is pushed out some days but the game is fundamentally the same.
you can watch any number of streamers who pvp on the wipe and they get endgame loot and finish their benches in a day. theyre playing in the most cheater infested lobbies and they still manage to get pink gear in record time. no abmm doesnt change that for them. its a more basic problem with how loot is distributed, how the progression of going from grey to yellow works, the BP hunting, the gear itself being out of balance, not abmm.
>>
>>2554731
it's not the biggest issue but it's one of the biggest issues out there.
tarkov's pve is completely segregated from the pvp side, so it's not even comparable.
if the devs are (at least trying to) go for true mixed lobbies then even a completely segregated mode would be a detriment because you need a wide variety of people for it to function from the most pacifist dudes to the most seasoned killers; it becomes more about adapting your playerbase than outright filtering them by tags.
every other issue i agree with already, there's not much to say.

it makes it very very easy for bastions and bombas. sometimes you get unlucky and the bastion snipes it but as long as you throw the lure in a good spot and throw it getting as close as possible to the big arc, you should have more than enough time to plant the deadline without it turning on you and killing you.

either their on old shit, where you needed to grind 3mil

my guess is the first one, that like a catch up mechanic if you were too poor to buy skillpoints your first expedition
