The Simpsons Tapped Out game got shut down a while ago, but reddit has some private server versions, was wondering if playing that is safe or there could be some virus/data theft going on?

Game remains playable without official support, but even the one person who still cares about it won't touch it because private servers too scary. We're so cooked.

I would have played it if my town got backed up on their servers, I literally exported it but lost it thanks to my external hdd power supply breaking up and corrupting the filesystem.
