They should have given Illuminate a unique effect instead of just cloning Keen Eye. If they wanted it to be accuracy based, then they should have turned it into evasion dropping Intimidate. Then it could have a more accurate hypnosis or something. Otherwise, it could drop the opponent’s accuracy as a debuff. Brightpowder Illuminate would be funny. Those are both stupid gimmicks, but it would take a lot of buffing or more likely an evolution to improve Watchog seriously

It might make aerial ace, aura sphere, etc or no guard more relevant. Right now I don’t think there are any reliable accuracy based strategies other than minimize. Currently, nothing runs Illuminate. Maybe my suggestion is a little bit annoying but I still think it should have become unique

I'm guessing for gen 5 they did just not give a fuck about them and quality control was more lax to save time and money. If old Pokemon models were done sequentially during XY's development, then gen 5 was last in the pipeline

I like base Emboar but I really don't like the mega at all. Biggest issue for me is the body shape, I'm not sure if they bulked up the chest or thinned the waist but it lost the nice rounded shape that smoothly carves its silhouette, highlighting its arms, and just turned into a pill
