Probably, might take a while though
>What PMD song do you love or hate the most?
RT's Kecleon shop theme is iconic, the Explorers version doesn't even come close
>If every Pokémon species was an option, what would be the worst PMD player-partner pairing to have?
Slakoth hero and Ditto partner would be hellmode

forest of shadows for love dunno about hate.

aside from the obvious, anything that doesn't learn direct attacks would be tricky, not impossible, but certainly tricky, like wynaut or pyukumuku

i needed somewhere to faff about these games. no other place went into as much detail

>Do you think mammalian water types can drown?
Of course, you idiot! Do you see any gills on any of them?
>What PMD song do you love or hate the most?
I absolutely hate Desolate Canyon. It's super short and anoying. Does not match the dungeon it plays in or the stakes of the stoty. And in Super, that song plays in Cape of Wonders, a high level dungeon for the point you can unlock it with anoying generation that you'll have to come back to constantly cos the devs placed the request of pretty much every aquatic pokemon in there.
>If every Pokémon species was an option, what would be the worst PMD player-partner pairing to have?
Bueary would be pretty fucking misserable as a partner. Mainly cos of Kluts and Run away. The movepool is more of a mixed bag. Frustration at lv 13 is a crazy power spike, but it'd get weaker if you start feeding the partner gummies. Agility is crazy busted, it comes a 33 though, and you've got better optionss like Pikachu or Treecko. Worst is that Buneary fot considered for Sky. As for hero, you could probably do much worse, but my pick is Charcadet, since it feels like a mon they would pick to spice up the roster (were fire not a starter typer), this thing gets nothing but low power moves trough lv up. 60 BP incinerate by lv 28 is its strongest move by lv up up to that point.
>What drove you to engage with /pmdg/ for the first time?
I was brough here by someone, and stayed cos I could go on deranged rants about PMD while staying anonymus (and cos the Clover Guild is kino).

Rampardos Box Buster > Rockin' Lock > Xatu Appraisal
I never got Xatu Appraisal because I don't get how seeing what is in the box using psychic powers gets that item out of the box.
Klefkis Rockin' Lock is a simple but effective way to open treasure boxes.
Rampardos Box Buster is easily the most epic and fun way to open treasure boxes bar none!!! Truly the most refined premium treasure box opening service in the world of Pokémon!
I admit that I am still guilty of not playing the Wiiware titles, but they are on my backlog I promise.

Klefki is a fucking bitch ass who can open chest in bulk, but only does that for friends and aquantances. Like, get a fucking move on, Why do I have to spend time with a filthy key steeler just for my time to be respected.

Howdy. Do excuse me for ignoring the questions at the start of this thread, I'm not very familiar with /pmdg/ or 4chan. (I very briefly spent some time lurking /sthg/ but that's about it.) Do excuse me if there's any etiquette I'm missing.
I played Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky for the first time somewhat recently in July of 2025, and I really really liked it. Before that my main exposure to the series was through degenerates online wanting an excuse to have Pokómon as their avatars but not actually engage with the setting or anything storytelling. I fell into a pit with them for a while and then lost it, but I eventually thought to actually play the video game and see what I was missing out on. And damn. DAMN. Explorers was the type of game to alter a child's brain chemistry for the better, I'm very glad I played it.
>What drove you to engage with /pmdg/ for the first time?
By pure chance, after finishing Explorers of Sky for the first time I happened to find out there's a whole scene modding the game to use it as a canvas for their own art. I took a look at some romhacks, gave them a try, and I happened upon Clover Guild's "The Weather Up There" which I really really liked. That led me to looking into more of the Clover Guild, I played Togetic's Very Special Episode recently and now I thought I'd try to reach out to chat with you all.
>>

I really like the Clover Guild! I like the stories I've gotten to experience here, you all have something very lively going on! Actually, it's this use of PMD as a creative canvas that I've been looking for for a long time. I thought I had it through an old RP group, but I never made anything substantial out of it because I was too busy being a degenerate. But here, you all seem to have better priorities in making something fun for everyone. I'd love to join in writing with you all, but I have essentially no practice as an author and I'd like to get a feel for you all. I could just like watch the Magma drawboard you all have, but I'd like to share and be a little more involved.
The Clover Guild intro page mentions sharing PMD playthroughs in the thread being welcome, so I thought it'd be fun to play through Rescue Team DX and share it here after I'm done with Gates to Infinity! Though, would that have to all be kept in /pmdg/ or am I supposed to make a new thread for that? Again, very unfamiliar with this site, so do let me know if I say anything stupid and I'm missing something obvious.
I like big bitches.
Also, I know gents in the Clover Guild (the artists, not the characters) have like "titles" I guess, like Phanphy-anon. A part of me wants to do the same but I assume "Buizanon" and "Shinx-anon" or "Luxanon" are taken, and if I ever joined the Magmas then that cover would be totally blown. Does anyone care about that sort of thing to any degree? Should I care to any degree?
(Excuse the long post, I just got excited.)
>>
>>59290764
>>59290769
You came to degenerate central
People just don't post porn and stuff because this is the sfw board. But I think there is a trash thread with porn and lewd stuff.
>>
>>59290769
playthroughs don't have to be in a separate thread, they're appreciated when they come up, just don't spam
info for the clover guild is in the op, check that out if you want to join it all up. inactive or not, new anons are always welcome
>>
>>
File: LuxioRebelClash61.png (1.2 MB)
>>59290777
I guess, but I'm thinking of like Furaffinity type fetish stuff. The sort of thing that outright doesn't work. I didn't know this board was separated into SFW and NSFW, that's nice to know. I assume this distinction is just to images, but please let me know if that's also limiting stuff to talk about in this particular board. (If the rule was outright there and I didn't notice, I applogize.)
Anyway, I find myself significantly more curious about the sorts of degenerates here because they're a lot more human - self-inserting into this little realm but still abiding by its rules, if that makes sense. It's much more engaging than the types of fantasies I'm used to, requiring the world center around whoever and whatever specific thing. I expect things to be a lot more tasteful (or at least more interesting) than what I'm used to.
i say this but then i saw the /pous/ thread and the thread starting with "defense" may on the way here, maybe i'll just end up with a bit of both worlds
Still, I'd like to chat with fellas interested in this Pokómon Mystery Dungeon thing and using it as a creative canvas. I don't really have any other options, but I'd like to imagine this is a good one.
>>59290789
Right, basically keep the posts to like a single screenshot with a solid chunk to read instead of posting every corner I find.
I did read up on the Clover Guild before coming here! Maybe I skimmed it a little without realizing it since I feel like I'm missing something, but thank you still!
>>59290791
Thank you! I'd love to share whatever creative messes I do manage to churn out before really committing to trying to add to the Clover Guild itself.
...Honestly I'm not sure how I'd go about sharing a playthrough in this board, but it'll be fun to figure out with gents like you to share the experience with!
I can tell I'll be in good company here. :D

>>59290962
Nah don't worry, that's what I assumed.
Well, I assumed any fantasies that did arise would usually be an extension of the world. I can easily picture 'mons fantasizing about being the reason a Buneary evolves into a beautiful Lopunny much more than them fantasizing big lopunny hips mmm
Basically, character comes first is what I assume the rule is. Characters having whatever thoughts or desires end up being an extension of their situation and their environment - I vaguely remember a Sneasel character being fascinated with Toge's unique human power of being autistic. I like that sort of thing, I think it's cool and I assume it's the sort of freedom that Clover Guild offers.
>>59291049
A most fascinating technique. I hope it's effective and I hope you very rarely need to use it.
>>
>>
>>59291550
Honestly I think the only one I've ran into is the Powder Snow bug and it's a nothingburger (enemy dots on the map sometimes linger if you kill them with powder snow). Pretty impressive how few glitches the series has considering how the mainline games are.
>>
>>59291550
Can't say I've run into that many. I know of the glitch in PMD1 and 2 were enemoe take on the wrong sprites with wrong pallets, leading to some funky images. That's about the only glitch you may find randomly, but it never happened to me.
Something that I did find that is semi glitchy in nature is that, in PSMD, when you talk to most NPCs in the hubs, they can then be pushed around for a bit before they snap back to their original position. Talking to them again restarts the timer. The interesting thing is that , if you bring up a menu that takes up both screens (conection orb, team roster page) then the NPC you are pushing will adopt their curent possition as their original one. This even applies if they are in the procces of sliding back to the original position. You can get NPCs out of bounds this way.

Sometimes, I like to headcanon and imagine that after beating a long and difficult dungeon, as a great victory ritual, I put on some cute lingerie and a mini skirt and my partner ties me up with an escape rope so I cannot move, puts a wonder orb in my mouth and gags it with a scarf to make a makeshift ballgag and then beats me with a whip, maybe a Vine Whip that we looted from an enemy Pokémon.
Then, when I feel all nice and sore with lots of beautiful whipmarks all over my body, my partner unsheats his beautiful anatomically correct knotted penis, inserts it into my anus and starts pushing it in and out until he explodes all his deliscious creamy semen inside my butt. Next, he takes a bunch of wonder orbs we have treaded onto a string and inserts them up my butt so his deliscious creampie stays in and can't leak out. Next, he will fuck my armpits (Yes, quadrupeds have armpits under their front legs) with his knotted penis and cums all over them. Then he fucks my flat quadruped chest and my beautiful thigh tighs next until he is satisfied and I am fully soaked in his cum. And after we are done, we snuggle in our straw pile, share body warmth and fall asleep together with me still tied up in all the restraints and soaked and filled with all his creamy deliscious cum.
Next morning he undos all the binds and restraints again and I will need to wake up a little earlier and sneak out to the local river/lake/beach to get a nice rinse and clean myself off all the dried cum so I can look nice and presentable again for the next day of Explorer jobs, but that's worth the fun.
Since technically the game fades to black every time you enter your little hay piles and what happens afterwards is uncertain until the next day starts, you can't really refute that this actually happens after we beat a difficult dungeon or mission together.
>>
>>
>>59291740
That's what I was thinking! Again, it's extensions of characters, making something fun and unique to engage with.
...Though I should've known it's the result of talent, so I should be really careful trying to work with such a thing.
I just find these characters fascinating because they're such varied reflections of such varied people and they're awesome for it.

New person curious about 4chan and this board because of the Clover Guild.
Hello!
>>
>>
>>
>>59291871
I am very curious the extent which you're familiar with Clover Guild. How many stories have you read? Which are your favorites? Which of the characters are your favorites, since you seem interested in that aspect
>>
>>59292470
I'm not too familiar with the Clover Guild yet, for better or for worse. My main experience has been through the short story hacks made, specifically The Weather Up There and Togekiss' Very Special Episode.
>How many stories have you read?
I've started reading a few of the stories in publication order, I remember reading Chespin's introduction and realizing "oh shoot, that's team cozy!" The last one I read was Illuminating the Way (ft. Macom). I still have a long way to go before I'm caught up on everything, but it's exciting to go through these while I'm out on the bus. (Most here can't read English, so I don't worry about "being caught".) Maybe it's just from the novelty of the setting being pretty normal, though. I've skipped over the non-canon entries, so it'd be 5 written stories so far.
>Which are your favorites?
I think so far my favorites have been Map, Gathering and Phanphy-anon and /pmdg/ in Treasure Town. I like Illuminating the Way a lot too though. I like them all! I'd include the romhacks in there too, they're really fun and seeing all the miscellaneous shit on the side was really good, the whole thing felt alive.
>Which of the characters are your favorites, since you seem interested in that aspect
Hoo boy, that's a tough one... My first exposure to the Clover Guild was through The Weather Up There, and I remember Booker and his Sneasel companion catching my attention immediately. That's probably just because of the sprites being made to remind me that Ribombee is, indeed, a bug and sized like one. That and the whole story of TWUT being all about handling being in such different bodies really showcased the unique challenges and possibilities that come from having all these once-humans gathered together. That might just be imprinting though... Phanphy-anon's whole team is brilliant to me, the fujoshi Swadloon(?) and Pikachu made me laugh, shoutouts to the Dratini missing his limbs, Toge (Autism)... I have a feeling I'll like them all!

It's funny how often this happens. Usually ends poorly.
Just be respectful, I suppose... 4chan is overtly gooner, but the locals of this thread try to be tame, and for good reason. Many authors here are seriously creeped out by the idea of lewds for their characters, and thanks to a certain outlaw fox, there's been situations with that in the past.

>>59292834
Don't wanna come across as rude. But could you stop attaching images to your posts for no reason? 4chan threads have a limmit on many replies and images they can have before they're about to get arquived (no more replies can be made). The image limmit is lower than the reply limmit.
Only use images if they are somewhat relevant to what you're talking about.

>Just be respectful, I suppose... 4chan is overtly gooner, but the locals of this thread try to be tame, and for good reason.
I may have come in with the wrong mindset. Or dilluting myself into thinking I didn't.
My apologies.
Don't worry though, I had a feeling this place would be much more lovely than just about any space I've been in to share my interests. its all i know... But I wouldn't try to use other people's characters for that sort of thing. Even if I did try to write that sort of thing, I'd want to have a good point. Character and story first. ...I can't imagine making anything good out of that anytime soon, though.
>Many authors here are seriously creeped out by the idea of lewds for their characters, and thanks to a certain outlaw fox, there's been situations with that in the past.

I'd love to! :D
I remember that being mentioned in the Clover Guild intro page, something about them being here and in the Magma board... "Drawfagging"? Is that what the cool kids call it?
Seeing all the introductions written out makes me think I'd best start off trying to make something very self-contained though. I have ideas of a shopkeeper interested in trinkets travelling around, and hearing of a guild full of once-humans would pique his interest, but I haven't thought much further ahead. I also thought of making him a bastard of an escort client, abandoning some rookie team in a Monster House, but I started that just to write something and whatever train of thought I had is losing steam...
...Oh well. I'll come up with something for you all. At worst, I'll have my five minutes of fun!

>I'd love to join in writing with you all, but I have essentially no practice as an author and I'd like to get a feel for you all. I could just like watch the Magma drawboard you all have, but I'd like to share and be a little more involved.
Magma is probably the best spot for you to hop in and have a casual chat. You don't need to draw, you can just take a look around. Especially if you'd like to give writing a try, you'd probably be able to bounce ideas off some people there faster than in the thread. You'll need an account, unfortunately. But I'd highly recommend doing that if you want to get involved.
>Also, I know gents in the Clover Guild (the artists, not the characters) have like "titles" I guess, like Phanphy-anon.
It's nothing as serious. Just names people go by to refer to the regulars. Not everyone uses "anon" and not everyone uses a Pokemon name, though most people do. You're free to call yourself what you'd like. AFAIK there's a Buizel but nothing from the Shinx line.
>>59290812
Most active participants in the guild hate any crossover between Pokemon and NSFW content. In fact I don't think there's any sexual content that isn't played as a joke in the stories. People just shitpost in this thread sometimes. Comes in waves, I suppose. There's /trash/ which has its own PMD thread, but it's an entirely different group, this thread has nothing to do with it. I don't think there's anything in the guild I'd describe as fetish material (unless you count the basic premise).
>>59292911

It's not too shocking when you consider Chunsoft's been making these types of games for years before PMD, and (actual) roguelikes were already a pretty well-explored genre even by the time the first MD game released.
I also only just now realize PMD having guilds might be a reference to how the original Rogue's plot was all about you trying to complete a Fighter's Guild entrance exam. I'm really curious which classic roguelikes (other than rogue, obviously) inspired MD the most.

>die every turn
Would this be the fastest way to eat through a bag full of reviver seeds? Can weather effects actually kill you in PMD? It's been a long while since I did Bidoof's special episode.
>>
>>59297746
Weather effects can kill you, yes.
>IRL time
Most likely, given that you can press A+B to let turns pass. Though only if you have close to 1 HP. Evolving a nincada gives the Shedinja the same stats the nincada had, with no stat gains from evo (at least in PMD2), so their HP will be too high. Similarly, enemy shedinja you may want to recruit appear to be too high lv to die to one tick of hail.
You'd have to do this on a lv reset dungeon that lets you bring teammates and a full bag.
>Turn whise
No, there's a good amount of turns between sandstorm chip and sandstorm chip. The fasters way would be to either find a damage dealing trap (spikes, chestnut trap...) or bring a pokemon with spikes/stealth rock/toxic spikes that can create them once they find an enemy.
From there, you can stand on the trap, die, and for any following turn, you trip the trap from the "ground" option in the menu, without having to move. Since spikes deal 20 damage, any wild shedinja will be OHKO by them.

Finally added answers for Blossom, Shelby and Heidi. I'll add their team questions another time soon. Thank you for the motivation to finally get off my ass and do it.
Some of you in this thread need to commune with the lord and think about your life before posting again.
To encourage you to be more normal, I propose a game of "Who would play her?" What actor/actress would play which Clover Guild characters? Keep in mind we can't all be Ryan Gosling in Drive.
I've just finished watching all of Derry Girls (highly recommend), and was inspired by the episode where they flashback to all the mothers as teenagers. The actors look alarmingly like team Petal-Purr would probably look if they were humans. They even had the nerve to colour code them for me perfectly and match their dress styles.
Also this specific interaction is basically word for word a conversation Blossom and Shelby would have with their father. It's uncanny.

>What PMD song do you love or hate the most?
Fire Island Volcano is probably still my favorite. Mt. Steel might be my least favorite, both in its original and DX versions. It's just annoying.
>If every Pokémon species was an option, what would be the worst PMD player-partner pairing to have?
Probably Ferroseed and Cascoon, or something like that--weak and immobile Pokemon.
>What drove you to engage with /pmdg/ for the first time?
I don't remember exactly, but I know I've been participating in the thread (anonymously, of course) for probably a decade, ever since I started playing PMD. I guess I was just looking for a place to discuss this new series I found, and I'd already begun browsing /vp/ at the time, so I just started hanging out here.

"Aw sweet, a free teammate."
Honestly, if a human became a Nincada and evolved, it'd probably be a weird experience to have a Shedinja spawn in. I imagine it'd be less creepy if it was basically a non-sentient robot that follows you and fights for you, and more creepy if it's animated by a piece of your soul and can think and talk, and acts like an uncanny version of yourself.
Also, the artist has it backwards. Shedinja is the cast-off shell, and Ninjask is what comes out of the shell.

Thanks for contributing.
And I guess I'm a coward, because I have no answer to the question. I don't really watch movies or TV, so I'm not familiar with a lot of actors, and I dunno who would best fit each guildmon. All I've got is vague ideas about how the characters' voices would sound.

Realistically, if they had made a full PMD anime series back in the day instead of just some specials, how commercially successful would it have been? Did TPC sleep on a potential gold mine by not making one?
>>
>>59303129
I guess they didn't want it to conflict with the already long running Pokémon anime. TPC probably doesn't want 4 year olds to be confused as to why Pikachu says "Pika pi" in this episode and why he talks in this other (they may not process the shows as independent from one another)
In terms of success, probably a good deal of it. PMD2 in particular did pretty well for a spin off, and by gen 4, the crucks of how repetitive the mainline anime gets were starting to form, so something novel would have been welcomed.
In terms of structure, they'd start pretty episodically, focusing on the supporting characters, before transitioning into following a narrative throughline as the stakes ramp up.
I'd be nice to see more attention given to the members of the guild, the children of Serene Village and the members of the Expedition Society. On top of getting more of the paradise members from Gates. (Assuming it makes it to gen 5 and 6)
Another reason why there hasn't been a PMD anime is because, with Gates and Super, they released late into their given generation, and since Spike Chunsoft works on other games besides Mystery Dungeon, they can't really push them to release the games early in the generation, as to not have a gen 5 anime run well into gen 6.

I'm not sure what you mean by "commercially successful". The anime doesn't make any money. Most of their money comes from selling merch. What would they sell specifically from PMD? Explorer badges?

I read “Induced Demand” by Cachopo-anon (https://rentry.org/CloverCachopo2). Like the previous chapter, there’s a lot of typos and grammatical errors, but I won’t harp on about that too much. I also found quite a few choices in the story to be perplexing, such as Cachopo forgetting he has a kid on his back, the kid making no noise or getting his attention while being carried off, and the kid generally being unfazed about being kidnapped—he’s mainly worried about being in a dungeon, rather than being carried away from his mom by a random stranger. The way Cachopo has difficulty moving in corridors is an interesting idea for a unique limitation caused by his body, although I don’t get why he chose to keep going forward and hope the path loops around instead of simply walking backward into the room. And personally, I think Cyndaquil’s portrayal kinda crossed the line, but I’m sure other people have different degrees of tolerance regarding the subject matter.
On the bright side, I like the scene where he discovers he can’t digest pancakes, and he has to cope with this (although I imagine cows realistically can eat pancakes... I didn’t feed a cow a pancake to verify, though). I wish he had a stronger reaction to this realization, and his disappointment was conveyed with more detail and emotional weight. That said, the part where he licks his lips in an attempt to taste the syrup again is a good way of showing his desperation and sadness. I also enjoyed the scene where he swims and finally feels calm and peaceful. I think that’s the best part of the story, and a well-written scene overall. Perhaps regular swimming sessions will help him gradually become calmer overall so he won’t have to rely on the doll.

That bottom figure looks pretty nice, I'm guessing it was jap-only. I do wonder if one of the reasons they didn't do more PMD merch was because they'd have to split royalties with chunsoft or something.

I guess I'll share my thoughts as well.I really didn't like the amount of creepy sexual stuff in the story, especially when a child character is riding on MC's back next to THE DOLL, and it just kept going from the first sentence to the last. When Cynda's stuff is left as implications and innuendo, it's funny, when it's this explicit, it becomes "what the fuck are you doing?" to me.
I experienced a weird whiplash when the kid went from taking like a kid to dropping "I guess I shouldn’t turn you down". It was pretty funny that he talks about his mother hiring high-end adventurers and then who else shows up to rescue him but fucking Misfits.
The bit with pancakes was pretty interesting, though it's absolutely not based on real biology, cows will happily eat meat if given a chance. (See: mad cow disease origins.) Pancakes aren't going to have any negative impact on a cow.
There were a lot fewer typos in this story compared to the previous one, but there were still some.
It was pretty decent overall, there were nice character moments, like the pancake bit and the water bit, but I think it could have been improved a lot if it removed half of the weird sexual stuff and gave that space to more character writing.

This pic just reminds me of how fucked fishmons are.

>can only flop around on land unless you're something that gets to float or walk like Frillish or Chinchou

Now that I think about it, what do fishmon even eat in the sea? Just plankton and algae with a side of Wishiwashi here and there?
>>
>>59308492
To me, Ffshmon are a compelling argument that Pokemon still eat Pokemon meat.
Maybe they dive into underwater mystery dungeons to eat the Magikarp apparitions. Perhaps some higher level dungeons with stronger Pokemon are considered rare cuisine, and stronger fishmon will act as escorts to protect newbie fishmon for an unforgettable dining experience.
>>
>>59308492
underwater pokemon towns are different to landies, but they are not necessarily far worse off. food can certainly be cooked, many towns are settled due to their nearness to underwater geysers and other geothermal activity, can easily grill your seaweed and kelp and whatever else on some hot rocks or in the calmer geysers. most fishmon can see well in the dark, at least the ones that can only be underwater and not the amphibious ones like vaporeons and the like. even with that, there's plenty of lazy lanturns happy to lounge about and provide plenty of light in the 'streets' and by the kelp and aqueous berries we have.
>can only flop around on land
we dont really want to come out of the sea anyway, some towns have amphibious mons that can act as messengers between them and landy towns, but there are also plenty of places far off the coast that have no real contact with the surface at all.
>>59309459
depends on the mon. kelp and seagrass as mentioned are a sure generic staple, but there are plenty who raise and eat plankton and algae. or in case of wailmers, graze for it on their own in the open water. contrary to popular belief some nifty seamons have been able to cultivate aqueous berries, they taste a bit like oran berries but are a tad more sweet, a welcome reprieve from kelp.
>wishiwashi
well, occasionally. there are a million fishies down here, and a million more that aren't quite 'all there' like you and me if you catch my drift. so, there's not much against catching them and having a tasty treat now and then. . .

If you want, I'll bring up the Giratina glitch in Japanese versions of Sky.
As a refresher, in Sky, Giratina takes on its Altered Forme in dungeons existing in TD, and its Origin Forme in dungeons new to Sky.
To make the forms diferent, each gets boost or drops to stats, equivalent to plus or minus 2 stage increase/drop. Giratina Altered gets a boost to defences, but a drop to offences, whereas Giratina Origin gets a boost to offences, but a drop to defences.
That's how is ment to be, but in the Japanese versions of sky, the defence boosts or drops are applied to the enemie, so Altered Giratina deals masively reduced damage without getting increased defences, and Origin Giratina deals a lot more damage without taking a hit to his defences.
So for most dungeons in the game, Altered Giratina gets shit on compared to TD, were there's no Origin Forme, and thus, no stat boosts or drops.
This sort of thing also happens with the boost from the Aura bows, but they were already useles due to the boosts being only +1 to each stat.
>>
>>
>>59311518
Yeah, this character that spends most of the game in jail and helps out his victim once he's left out can't in any way shape or form be redeemed, since the reason he kidnaped Azuril is because he's 100% a pedofile, and not just to force him to grab some treasure that's rumored to be kept behind a small crack he's too fat to gor trough.

>nonbinary
>has no biological gender
>but has the female-exclusive tail design (a gendered biological trait) plus a feminine name, girly eyelashes, and a girly bow
I don’t care what you say, this character is female.
If the artist really wanted to make her nonbinary with a “unique biology”, they could’ve at least given her a tail that combines the male and female designs. That would at least sell the idea better.

It's one of the 7 Treasures Dungeons (Has the Terra Cymbal), so you'll only unlock it from missions that ocasionaly spawn at the cafe, or through wonder mail, and only once you obtain the secret rank.
Unlike Kyoger's and Rayquaza's 50 floor hellscapes, this one's only 10 floors. Laughably short for a dungeon containing a legendary. Just be careful not to get blasted by Earth Power from the Nidoking.

Reminds me, is there any use to moves that lay down traps? They've always felt useless to me and I can't really think of any situation where you would want spikes or toxic spikes over just using a better normal move. I guess if an enemy is chasing you you could use it to damage them as they follow you in a hallway? But wouldn't that make any of your teammates step on it too?
>>
>>59316686
It pretty much just exist to be used by enemies. And even then, the traps that are layed down aren't hidden in some games, so you can step around them with ease. This behaviour is taken from Shiren enemies that can set up any trap bellow them, even those with an upside. For instance, you can wait until they generate a ptfall trap (if you can tank them, they have 2x speed such that you can't outrun them) to backtrap to previous floors and areas (such as towns with shops that refresh every time you visit).
Kind of in that ball park is transform in PMD1 and 2. It exists to trick you into wasting PP and resources on ditto that have taken the apperiance of dangerous foes. Pretty much also taken from Shiren enemies, though there, wasting resources and getting no exp in return hurts more.
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>59316842
I'm kind of surprised there's never been any PMD dungeons revolving around trap gimmicks like how Shiren has, but I guess they probably don't want to bother coding specific mechanics for one dungeon.
>>
>>59319644
Right, PMD prioritizes having a large amount of simpler dungeons for the purpose of mission completion and Pokémon recruitment, rather than less dungeons with something unique in each.
Not to mention that, if you give the player the ability to fuck around with traps like in Shiren, it'd go on top of any other traits your leader has, be it pausing after every move with Slaking, Moving through walls with most ghost types, or having access to teleportation with mons like Alakazam. Reason why the few challenge dungeons there are in PMD limit themselves to exp and item resets, party limitations, and in some cases, lame shit like being unable to reveal traps like in PMD2's Destiny Tower.

What happens if you leave a dead body in a mystery dungeon? Does it move around like a lost item? Can it be found by explorers? What if you bury an body in a mystery dungeon, is it good as gone?
Would any cultures in PMD bury their dead in a mystery dungeon?
>>
>>59320613
I'd imagine it'd work like the lost loot in Explorers, in that it can rarely be found buried inside walls or just laying on the ground (when it's a mission item). Of course it wouldn't be found inside chest from golden chambers, that'd be really disturbing (whatever you do, don't take that box to Rampardos)
>Would any cultures in PMD bury their dead in a mystery dungeon?
Fuck no, there are ferals in there. It'd be like dumping a body by the side of a wolf's den. If anything, they'd rescue the bodies of Pokémon that die inside of a dungeon to put them to rest properly (Assuming the dungeon isn't super turbo ass blast difficult).

For a lot of the very shitty mons, it was definitely just bruteforcing with warp scarf and stuff. Admittedly I don't know THAT much specifically because I can't read/speak Japanese, all of my knowledge here is second-hand from a friend who is fluent. Talking about some of those low-tier level reset mons, a notable example is Cradily, because it has very low stats (Lileep is a very early dungeon mon), unimpressive levelup moves, and most importantly, it has Sticky Hold, which means it's actually incapable of teleporting via Warp Scarf, meaning Cradily doesn't have access to one of the best forms of level reset cheese.

Somewhere I'm pretty sure the JP players did a ranking of all Pokemon's viability for Zero Isle South and Destiny Tower: https://wiki.grovyle.net/pokedun3/?%E3%83%A9%E3%83%B3%E3%82%AF%E5%88%A 5%E3%83%9D%E3%82%B1%E3%83%A2%E3%83% B3%E3%83%AA%E3%82%B9%E3%83%88

It is definitely easier than the original Rescue, but part of that is because a lot of mons have better movesets. I went through it with this team and didn't really have any problems.

Stats at lv 1 are 15 HP, 5 in Atk and Sp.Atk, and 4 in Def and Sp.Def. With stat gains from early levels ranging from 0 to 1. (At lv 6 in particular you only get 1 HP lol)
Compare this to Driflom, who starts with 35 HP, 15 on both Attacks and 10 in both Defenses, alongside better stat gains. You always get +2 HP and more often than not you get +1 on each stat (aside from lv 2, there you only get +1HP and +1 Def for some reason).

>>59291550
I know this is an old post, and this was already brought up in a previous thread, but I'll mention it again anyway because it's probably the one glitch that 99% of players have experienced whether they realized or not.
The Aura Bow in Explorers (the held item you receive at the beginning of the game, Wigglytuff gives it to you when you make your team, it's based on the color Aura you got in the personality quiz) is bugged in that it's supposed to give +1 to all stats, but in reality, it properly gives +1 Atk, Def, and SpDef to the holder, but then mistakenly gives +1 SpAtk to the ENEMY. The SpAtk boost is more impactful than the SpDef boost, meaning that while holding the Aura Bow, you will actually take slightly more damage from special moves than if you weren't holding anything.
It's still not very impactful anyway though, +1 to all stats is honestly pitiful, and the increased special damage will still be barely noticeable. And you're better off ditching the Aura Bow immediately once you get something like a Power/Special Band anyway, so it's not a huge deal in the end.

Just finished the demo. Have a positive opinion on the artstyle and the music, kind of iffy on the changes to how attacking works (I hope it's not just mash auto and win in the tougher levels) and I don't really like how the map reveals everything. Overall pretty excited.
>>
>>
>>
>>59328647
Auto was likely really only added because it’s a feature other traditional roguelikes have had. With how combat focused MD is auto is just likely to put you into bad situations (Which is probably why they took so long to add it to the series)
>>
>>59329011
I meant auto selecting a move when pressing A, though auto movement is something interesting. It seems rather harmful when you factor in monster houses in dungeons you're not very overleveled in which is a good thing.
>>
>>59329156
I quite dislike that A auto selects a move in DX, using the regular attack to stall turns and let enemies come to you is a rather integral part of play, so much that the PSMD tutorial forces you to do it. Even though there and in Gates the damage of the regular attack caps at 5 HP, it's still usefull.
In DX, triying to stall will often have you wasting PP on your Line of sight or corner cutting moves. Sure, you can use the wait command, but pressing A+B everytime you would have jusst pressed A in the other games is anoying.
Only thing I like about the change in DX is that I like how you now reveal any traps adjacent to you, without having to face them.

Storywise it does feel like Super was intended to be the last game in the series.
Rescue Team DX didn't sell well enough to warrant an Explorers DX and given that SC is busy with another game it won't be until 2028 until news comes, if any.
>>
>>59330630
It didn't sell well enough? That's a darn shame. I don't even hate Scarlet and Violet (on the Switch 2) but how did that game on the Switch 1 sell more than PMD DX when the latter is good and the former is Sonic 06 levels of miserable.
>>
>>
>>59330630
Rescue Team DX reached life time sells of 2 million copies, nothing to scoff at. For comparison, Spike Chunsoft celebrated selling 300K copies of Shiren 6 during the release frame, so 2 million copies certainly meets SC's expectations.
But when you think it from the perspective of TPC. Outsourcing a game to another company that sells a total of 2 million sales in its entire lifetime makes them less money than working on the next mobile slop they can pump full of microtransactions.

I didnt mean it ironically, its the only thing that makes sense, like a mystery dungeon has random layouts on random floors so there are actually if you think about it either hundreds of routes through to each floor or its a type of magic, which if true would make sense why the pokemon in the dungeon would be pokes who fell asleep and the magic seeped into their minds, they only get let free from the grasp of the cursed magic by having the shit kicked out of you. pic related are my ideas for dungeons route, which i find much more fascinating because if these dungeons are magic and shifting, why has no pokemon looked into it and tried to research why? 5000iq alakazam should be on the case, if they are just a series of different shaped rooms that have different routes then they are mappable, even if almost impossible to map since the variability. Its something we as players cant figure out because of game mechanics but would add a very interesting pull to the lore.

This is the basis of many a PMD story. It's hard to answer.
Everyone changes a bit as time goes on, so it's silly to say I'd stay the same completely, but overall, I'd more or less want to stay the same.
