We haven't gotten a new mainline pokemon game since 2022 so not sure how much more it could be rushed when the manga isn't really advertised by TCPi. The next game isn't until at least next year and I didn't like SV at all. The player trainer designs didn't look like pokemon trainers at all. At least they seem to be dialing it back a bit with the wetsuits in winds/waves.

ORAS was a cool return to hoenn and LGPE could have just been explained as "the next generation" of Kanto. With Green being a little older than the new trio but experienced enough to be a mentor like Red was to Yellow. At least that's how she came across being introduced in the postgame around Mewtwo and in her Evolution's OVA: the Discovery.

Guess that is kind of like how she'd act in a manga using her victreebel as a grapplehook and blastoise as a jetski. Was kind of funny how she quickly soloed the entire golden bridge with her pokemon and left them all in a big pile with their pokemon.

PokeSpe is not that well known and Yellow is one of the characters known to normies. People don't really think of Platina or Y but Serena and Dawn. Yellow is a decently designed female character. Really doubt she's a magnet for tourists. She's way too niche. I didn't even know she existed until i visited the thread. At least most of the other characters have some kind of mainline game counterpart.

Green would beat up a yandere punk like Nemona no problem. They seem to have really toned her down in the manga. In game you could not progress past several parts of the game without humoring her. I don't mean just battling.

I stopped playing at the first lighthouse and refunded it because I couldn't just keep going to the next town. S/V was sun/moon's excessive cutscenes on steroids with none of the cool new pokemon to compensate and a hyper emphasis on fakemons that were even uglier than ultra beasts somehow via "area zero". Which sounds like a pokemon lab going back to mewtwo gen 1 era vibes at first but its really not.

The first hour has plenty of cutscenes but it opens up after that a lot more compared to SM, which is a game that has a consistent amount of linearity and cutscenes. The first lighthouse is like the first 20-30 minutes so not quite there yet.

Even some places that seem inaccessible because of a Team Star wall, you can actually jump over if you find the right spot, run and jump which is satisfying as hell to pull of. And even the rivers which you can't cross at first, you can actually find some shallow paths in the water to pass (even if it doesn't look like it in the map screen).

Read up through volume 7. Kind of funny how they keep changing yellow from a tiny adorable chibi to riding on the back of duduo. I get that the mission was to save Red from the elite four but it kind of falls apart from her coming into her own kind of trainer that literally heals pikachu but petting it and form complex plans to win battles with her team on the fly, to just being Red’s cheerleader when they hadn’t even spoken for two or so years and she went through her own pokemon journey on the way to find him. Using his pokedex to catalog anything he missed on the way. Like Lapras being hunted to near extinction in the pokedex entry. That’s definitely something TPCi retconned out of the canon along with any references of the great pokemon war in the first few anime episodes.

Also wierd seeing the original gen 1 pokeballs being transparent with the pokemon seeing through them. That was quickly changed to the anime version around gen 2-3.

It may have been unintentional but they also referenced the cut dr oak battle from Gen1.

Green’s manga counterpart is just as crafty as she is and also the one woman army that can solo Team Rocket with her Blastoise as she ought to be.

What’s up with Mew always roaming and running away? Why can’t it just stay for a bit and be pet on the head by a friendly trainer? Its wierd how Mew wasnt even mentioned in the LGPE games at all and they just tried to retcon melmetal as the 151st pokemon. Mew wasnt even mentioned in any of the mewtwo research like it explicitly was in this manga and every other appearance of mewtwo. Cinnabar island had mostly recovered from the volcano eruption and rebuilt itself by the time of LGPE. The mansion is still intact too and Mew is only seen via the postgame trainer master battles if you already have one via home or go.
