I started Pokemon in Ruby, payed no attention to it, then when Gen 6 came around, I caught one on a whim for the playthrough, grew to love it immensely. It also just so happened to have Super Luck and Jolly nature. So it was basically perfect.

It detects changes in weather. There's a chance that it could potentially also sense ill intentions of people (nothing that can confirm this so do not take it as pure truth.) But it cannot sense how dangerous an inanimate object can be.

Wouldn't say stole my heart, but i was mildly impressed with Absol, from PMD Rescue Team giving me an Absol partner during the exile arc, to catching one in Emerald, levelling her up once and seeing a single swords dance be enough setup to sweep Winona was a good first impression to keep Absol in the party.
But it only came until much later that i learned Absol is a damn strong mon in RSE playthroughs like once you get one, it'll carry you for the rest of the game on an equal caliber as Swampert and Gardevoir. That and while it can't put its 130 base atk for stab, shadow ball being physical is very funny, this shit nukes Tate & Liza
