Thread #12505570
Ok guys, I’ve been digging deep into the Madō Monogatari saga ever since Arle was announced for Sonic Racing Crossworlds. So far I’ve only been able to play the Game Gear ROMs with fan translations in English. Are there more fan‑translated games on other platforms? I recently got Madō Monogatari: Fia and the Wondrous Academy and I’ve been having an amazing time with it. Plus, I watched a huge lore video about the game and was totally fascinated (though after some research I found out that the lore written by Kenji Oda isn’t canon — still, the official lore intrigues me a lot). So: Madō Monogatari thread, my anonymous

PC-98 Madou Monogatari 123 got translated, not sure about ARS
Would reccomend, the tone is completely different from all the other versions and it gives off a much different vibe. It is a little rough though. If you don't want to put yourself through too much tedium I'd skip 1 maybe and just play the Mega Drive version

PC98, Game Gear, PC Engine, and Mega Drive versions have translations.
Madou Monogatari: Hanamaru Daiyouchi Enji (SFC) has a translation and it is basically a different game
The Saturn game (called Madou Monogatari but again basically a different game) is not translated I don't think, neither is ARS (PC98), Michikusa Ibun (PC98), Chaotic Final Exam (PC), or Tower of the Magician (PC)

NTA (I was also writing a post) but the ones missing translations also are:
* The Madou Monogatari 2 prototype included in one of the MSX2 DiscStation volumes.
* The MSX2 versions of Madou 1, 2 & 3.
* The Korean only title The Secret of Elision (PC), which borrows many assets from Chaotic Final Exam.

Thank you anons! btw I DID Have fun with the Game Gear games and as I mentioned, Im having fun with the last game (Fia WA) too, but Ive seen the Pc-98 OGs can get frustrating at times since in some dungeons you have to do do specific stuff, back tracking and shit.. nevertheless I would really like to try em soon :D

no I do not but Arle is very rapeable so it's understandable to get butterflies when she looks at you

I remember playing the PC-98 ports of Madou Monogatari 1-2-3 years ago (before they even got english translations) and I can confirm there's some of that stuff.
Worse one in my opinion is inMadou Monogatari 3, where you have to obtain seeds, plant them in specific rooms (the ones that have soil in the ground), and then wait a really long time for the seeds to turn into plants so you can collect them. And there's one specific seed you need to plant, let grow and collect so you can cross a room that leads to the end of the game.
I also remember playing the Game Gear port of Madou 1, but that was many years ago and now I only remember a few things about that version.
