First my credentials so you know I'm not some random emu faggot who played it for 2 minutes before trying something else in the ROM set. I played it and beat it 100% legit without cheats on a physical N64.
Do not waste your time on this game. The difficulty is absolute fucking bullshit. There are sections where you can go for hours between save points, assuming you find the next one at all. Literally the only way anyone could enjoy this game is if it was the only FPS they had on N64 and had no way of playing any others.
That said, it's actually a pretty good game if you can look past all of that. I'm not just trying to be funny. There's a really good game in there. It's just buried under so much bullshit.

I have the pc port from gog, maybe it has a save feature?

Turok 2 is kino, but the N64 version is one of the worst performing games on the console. It looks great, but the FPS is impressively low, as in lower than Goldeneye and with way more input lag. The 90's PC port had some QA issues, like clearly incorrect texturing and crashes, but it played so much better on mouse and keyboard with a framerate above 20.

The modern Nightdive port lets you save anywhere and runs fine.

Turok is a cool dude. He gets all the babes and he kills the dinos on his way there. However im not exactly sure if the dinos are from space or not. Are the dinos aliens? Or are they from turokia?

I quit at the Lair of the Blind Ones because everything looks the same and I couldn't find the final vent. Probably spent 3 hours in that shithole before giving up.

Turok 2 was really technically impressive at the time, but as the others say, it runs like ass at times. And yeah, the save points are few and far between. As a kid, I remember giving up somewhere around the caves, and just putting in BEWAREOBLIVIONISATHAND to fuck around and beat all the bosses. It still has one of the coolest weapon sets of any FPS, and one of my favorite flamethrowers (it was rare to see them with liquid napalm physics instead of orange fart clouds at the time).
The third game probably had the best SP mode, but felt a little more drab on comparison. And the ending sucked.
Rage Wars is the black sheep of the series, which is surprising to me, as it was designed to basically be an arena shooter from the ground up. I enedes up playing it way more than any other Turok game, both SP and MP. It might not be as impressive nowadays, though.
