Zelda ocarina of time, in retrospect, was way ahead of its time more than you might think. the zombies were m-rated shit. lots of vidya gets T or M ratings for f-bombs, racist jokes, having a brewski, taking a puff, or having a bit of fun with a cutie. but ocarina had zombies jumping on your back to loudly drink your brains, after forcibly freezing you with a screech.

i'm amazed at how many 90s cartoons had racist or sexist jokes, or straight up drug jokes, and now everything is so squeaky sanitized. it's really jarring.

now whenever i see some 90s lookin goofy thing, and suddenly it gets racist and does crack right in public, i go "oh yeeeeaaaahhh, 90s toons really were like that".
