Have you ever tried driving in Body Harvest? Have you seen the world design? Dreadful stuff.

Yeah, I beat it back in the day. It's a foggy slog, but I enjoyed it for what it was. You can definitely see the GTA (3D) DNA in it, and it preceeded the very first Driver.
That said, it's neat to see a dev acknowledge Driver had some influence on them. I only rented the first oje a handful of times, but owned the second one, and put a lot of time into it just fucking around and exploring.

they took driver physics and altered the camera a bit and made the car slightly less of a mess. they should have improved it more so you could drive without crashing. driver’s point was to make your videos crazier, and who knows maybe they were copying gta 1 in that sense to make the car feel destined to crash constantly. you never get good at driving, you just get through it. gta3 and the rest would be so much better if driving wasn’t so wobbly
