You can do it anon, I believe in you. I recently 1cc'd it on Normal and its still fresh in my mind so here's some tips.
General Tips: >Almost always stick to free-shot since it does way more damage than auto. >The timing window on countering/reflecting projectiles is enormous. You can just spam trigger as soon as you think a projectile is close enough and you'll typically get it. Same goes for using the sword in ground combat. >Play at 2x res. I'm normally an original res purist but there is just too much shit happening on screen to effectively play at 240p. >Always dodge the round, 2D sprite at the tip of a laser beam and ignore the beam itself, only the sprite can hurt you.
More Specific Tips: >2-2 is a fucking monster but there are health refills hidden in turrets, boats, helicopters and on the body of the ship at the end. >When you're fighting the rock monster in 2-3, counter a projectile into the base of the laser rock to stop it from attacking. >When it transforms into the hanging laser clock thing, you can just keep detaching it from the roof and shooting it on the floor. >In 3-1, deal with the octopus arms first and then keep slashing its face. The arm projectles do massive damage. >3-2 is a clusterfuck but you're meant to slash the flying/hanging creatures or use the goo-balls to burn them. >The final run and gun portions of 3-2 can quickly turn chaotic but its all about dealing with the big enemies first and not getting too far ahead of yourself so more grunts don't spawn in. >Maintain a consistent sweep of fire in 3-3 and don't stress about destroying every single bullet, just keep the pattern up. Reflect the fireballs.
>>12613193 Not that long, maybe a week or two. 2-2 and 3-2 are the major roadblocks. I can do Hard on about two credits pretty consistently but there are sadistic, borderline troll moments like the laser grid at the end of 2-2 that put me off spending more time with it.
I don't have that many 1cc's under my belt but Sin & Punishment on Normal was wayyy easier than Alien Soldier on SuperHard (basically its default difficulty), which took over a month to to get. There are some truly evil sections of that game but I think it's probably Treasure's best once it clicks. Can't really speak on the difficulty of Radiant SIlvergun and Ikaruga because I'm shit at shmups and the only STG I've 1cc'd is Mushi 1.5.
>>12613240 >Can't really speak on the difficulty of Radiant SIlvergun and Ikaruga because I'm shit at shmups and the only STG I've 1cc'd is Mushi 1.5. The relative difficulty of shmups is well-documented. That's one of the things I like most about them right now
Mushi original is on the lower end of arcade clears, but if you have that you have the skill to get 50+ different arcade clears alone, let alone console shmups
>>12613386 The alien soldier spammer is a genuinely mentally ill retard from 3x3 threads on /v/ that's been d&c'ing the board for months and shitting up shmup threads.
>oh? A thread with people discussing a Treasure game? What's that, not any Treasure game but one for N64!? That's it! I'm shitposting it with my jrpg vs shmup routine! Don't care if it doesn't make sense!
>>12613434 No it's not. Any game with score can be 1cc'd. Also be sincere, you don't even care about any of that, what angers you is that people enjoy and discuss a Treasure game on a Nintendo console
>>12613435 >what angers you is that people enjoy and discuss a Treasure game on a Nintendo console Piggers are angry at existence because they are eternally shitty at games
>>12613409 rail shooters are a type of shmup, as are scrolling shooters, run amd guns, fixed shooters. Not my fault retards like to conflate scrolling shooter and shmup
>>12613567 I don’t think anyone disagrees that fixed shooters like Space Invaders and Galaga are shmups, and I get the argument for rail shooters, but run n guns are entirely different.
>>12613179 >she Isa is a boy. Pretty sure they refer to him as a boy in the first game, and he's the protagonist of the second game. Is this AI translated?
>>12613740 >Is this AI translated? Someone pointed their phone camera at the page and hit google translate. That's why the text is all different fucked up sizes. Useful tip for whenever you see images like this in future
>>12615007 rail shooters aren't shmups, that's why they're actually good, starfox is also a rail shooter, but only the first one is a pure rail shooter
>>12613382 shmups are terrible, but mechanically speaking, sin and punishment and it's sequels is the best this genre has to offer, the second best is panzer dragoon 2, this genre is often ruined by difficulty, and even the best games are no exception
