I think I fell for the meme
>be me, got NV and F3 full-free in Epic
>cool, never play this series but I can't stop hearing how good they're, specially NV
>try NV first
>did all the tests, check out is a point-based RPG, for anything you need hability points
>*oh no... anyway, let's keep playing it*
>skip the "Goodsprings tutorial", I just want to start the main quest
>*yellow filter* this kinda looks like shit, but anyway
>*hold on a second? why is it all filled with trash? why is it all in ruins? this places has been inhabited for decades!*
>go to Primm, check the NCR, damn that's a lot of "choose X text"
>*I get there was so conflict, but why the NCR outpost is so shitty?*
>*the BOOMERS, a "Kaboom!" faction? Nice.*
>*LOADING SCREEN*
>they try to kill me, I can't join them, *feels disappointed*
>I have a rifle (nice), shoot a dude in the face from a distance of 1 mm (instakill), he doesn't die (wtf?!) because *life bar*
>*C'MON the combat is this crap?!*
>rescue the new sheriff Beagle, *holy moly more text I don't care*
>*LOADING SCREEN*
>go to the casino
*LOADING SCREEN*
>some old dude: *MOREEE TEXT*
>I feel totally burnout and I can't imagine forcing myself to finish the game
This doesn't feel like a game, this feels like a job.
I can't undestand how people unironically do the meme: "Can't wait to finish my work to play NV."
Is there any mod to fix ALL this or should I wait for the possible remake I can't stop seeing in Fallout forums?
Honestly, I wish I could enjoy the game, I love the themes, factions (except the NCR) and the 50s retrofuturistic x post-apocalyptic aesthetics, but just thinking about continuing the campaign, a huge feeling of burnout invades me.

Good for you, anon.
I just feel burnout because of all the +100 free games I got from Epic, many feel like actual jobs (you can't even remove quests from your lists in NV, despite you are not interested or you killed the person... for being obnoxious af) instead of funny / pleasant experiences.
And seeing how people can have a different (better) experience that you in those games, gives me a little envy.
I mean, if NV (for example) was a war game (pure f/tps), I think it would be amazing (no boring quests nor exploring ugly empty shithole nor dirty "dungeons"), just the glory of eternal war (because war never changes. Praise Father Mars).

Don't worry op, I feel the same. This game is an rpg first and an fps second, keep that in mind. I just ignore the boring dialogue and story and just do their quests then kill them after for their loot.
Played this game since 2012 btw. Hate it, but I always come back to it, just to continue my evil playthroughs and leave the Mojave a worse place.

>Game is fun, but too easy.
Turn the difficulty up to Very Hard (and enable Hardcore to remove instant healing) and you'll piss and shit yourself the moment the Gaysar's Legion sends its first L10+ hit squad at you.

>What is the best in terms of gameplay?
Fallout and Fallout 2 obviously. Action RPG combat is always inferior to turn-based. Walking on "muh open world" map is a huge waste of time, the overworld map travel is much better and allows for huge swaths of the US to be covered, and you don't have to fill a 12km^2 area with heckin unique chungus caves full of goodies and special weapons.
New Vegas is better in roleplaying because it actually lets you have a positive different experience based on the skills you pick and all noncombat skills have massive benefits compared to their near-absence in the first two Fallouts.

But I don't want to install 30 bugfix mods to make a game not stutter and implode every 5 minutes.
And you need like a 100 mods to make it good and fun, and majority of those are going to be just compatibility patches for compatibility patches. It gets stupid fast. You are Exceptional, Tales of the Commonwealth, Atachment Pack, Mutant Menagerie and Munitions are like a bare minimum. Ignore Sim Settlements 2, it is not worth it

I just want to enjoy thriving in the Mojave without levels nor points, I want to get experience based in my own habilities and practice, not %.
Also, I hate how all is trashy and dirty despite being inhabited for decades. And it's just yellow filter and grey concrete, there is no color.

Mods, negro. Literally any criticisms can be fixed by just DLing the relevant mod.
The skills you already have not enough? Every one of them has some improvement and expansion mod.
No color? Scenery overhauls, flora overhauls, it's all stupid simple with MO2
