I was only 15 when this came out. Was super excited for it. A whole new expansion pack for my favorite RPG. Fuck yes, rushed to the store to get it ASAP.
And what do you know? It's a glorified sewer level. That's it. You can't leave the city. There is no open world. No rolling hills, no Morrowind mainland.
Yep, the thing that made the main game popular is not in the expansion pack. All you get is a sewer with goblins, and another sewer with automatons.
What the fuck happened? At least Bloodmoon was decent.

I would ask you to replay it and report back but I am not that sadistic
to summarize:
>every 5 meters enemies, without levitation you will blow your brains out
>Dryads everywhere, enjoy clubbing same cunt 2-3 times (unless you soultrap them or glitch and loot her barkussy)
>time gated town build up and mandatory where is Waldo Quest if you decide to help Raven Rock
>final main quest has Werewolves that hit like truck dropped from orbit, NPC you can protect gets evaporated unless you spam magic on him
on and who can forget Emil's biggest contribution, the Candy Man

Few years ago I replayed Tes 3/4/5 to compare and contrast
I love Morrowind but the expansions are definitely weaker than the main game. I think peak Tes expansions are KotN and Dawnguard.inb4 SI and Dragonborn, no they suck.

SI > Dragonborn > Dawnguard > Bloodmoon > KotN > Tribunal

I haven't played vanilla BM for a long time but yes the absolute grind you need to do just to walk a little bit in the wild was hilarious, I still like the werewolves because they are pretty much the only enemy in the game that can damage a late game PC.

The only thing that makes dawnguard tolerable is the new vampire and werewolf mechanics that gave modders a good base to work on. The quest sucks ass and the writing is abysmal.
SI and Dragonborn arr the best DLCs by far for their content size and quality. KotN(as any fighter/warrior based quest) is boring. Won't even bother with tribunal it's really weird how in BM they decide to build an entire landmass while for this you essentially get a 3 cells "city" and lots of sewers.

Let's not forget that the entire story of this DLC is you doing quests for two incompetent factions that both very clearly want to kill you but are to incompetent at doing anything.
Also having you get chased by the strongest character in the game whenever you walk around the main plaza as a joke was also fucking retarded.
The only cool thing was the Oblivion tease

Dragonborn is good. Decent satisfying finale to the protag of Skyrim, ups your power level which is always nice, extremely varied locations which should be the main goal of additional content, giving the player more places to use endgame characters. I never liked how most of dawngaurd could have been in base game falmer caves.
What is their even to complain about?

I'm trying to think of the parts of Tribunal I actually liked. Even the city had a lot of empty space if you ignore the sewer combat.
I guess with all the loaded merchants it was a convenient place to unload gear that didn't feel like cheating, unlike that house with the scamp
There was some medium armor that looked good.
uhhh

I know this is just a whine thread about a decades old expansion pack, but
>What the fuck happened?
Douglas Goodall was supposed to work on Tribunal, but he quit between the releases of Morrowind and Tribunal.
