I really want to play this but I need to wait until it’s all done, I’m not finishing chapter 3 and then pausing til they finish the rest.

Also skeptical about translator integrity and skill, but that’s on me for not being good enough at Japanese. Studying Jap but I can barely read what they’re saying in a Pokemon game when I play in Japanese, and that’s for a game I’ve played before. But since it’s pokemon the story doesn’t really matter, and I’ve played it in English already, so it just makes for good practice at my very early level.

For a first time playthrough of a jrpg that’s known for having a dense and crazy story, where the story is a big part of the appeal, my Japanese will likely never be good enough for that. Or I’ll have to wait until I’m an oldass man. So the English translation is something I’ll have to settle for, and I’m grateful that people are volunteering to make it available.

Or I could play the PS2 games I guess.

The versions of Episode 2 diverge enough it is worth playing both

Xenosaga 2 is great. The juggle combos are fun, like a turn based tekken. The only thing Xenosaga 2 is missing is weapon progression

Apparently people say the DS version merges events of episode 1 and 2 like it was originally suppose to be. Saga on the PS2 was already a mess in development. Events that were suppose to happen on episode 1 ended up happening in episode 2. Characters who were playable in episode 2 were suppose to be playable in episode 1. Stuff like that and the list goes on. Plus the gameplay sucked in episode 2. Its pretty much a remake from the sound of it.

these are basically parallel/concurrent stories to the PS2 games, right?
