So, I'd like to try this series but I've seen the first game has like 4 different ports. Are there any anons who can give me a tip of which version would be the best (I really hope it's not the PC port as it looks like putrid visual garbage, pic rel).

Either PC or PSP emu.
Wonderswan is a fun relic and GB has almost nothing the later ports do not to compel you to play it
