It's alright. I played it again like a year or 2 ago and the magic was better in my memory. I think maybe Tyranny beats it out for me. Although I haven't played that for years now.

I think Noita has the best magic.

computing power being dumped into grafix is the worst outcome of this entire timeline. instead of "what if generic thing but autistic in detail" its now "what if generic thing but shinier". I dont know how people say "games take time" and then the game comes out and theres nothing intricate or qualitative enough to justify the dev time.

we shouldve been at Noita 3D in 2018

Well considering no one can afford video cards any more, devs have stopped caring about graphics, so you might get your wish.

I remember getting filtered by this game hard because it was so damn janky and unintuitive. Shame because I knew something was good about the game I just didn't want to keep fighting it to figure it out. After coming off Oblivion I really tried.

It looks German, if anything.

I agree, but I don't know why the hell you'd play any multiplat game on PS3 instead of PC or X360.

I saw red faction guerrilla and hl2 and just cause 2 and fables morphing and fantasized where video games would be by now
Turns out everyone stopped caring about physics and desutructability and terramorphing and any of that shit. Games don't feel dynamic at all

The reason you can't afford graphics cards, is that you are not meant to; in ten years you will stream anything intensive from a datacenter, unless you have conducted yourself in a way the government or the company deem "bad", then you'll be banned from vidya forever, too bad

Honestly fair. I'd prefer if games downgraded the graphics a few notches if it meant having better physics and destructible environments.

it's playful, but calling it the best is a far stretch, unless you value gimmicks more than balance and long term entertainment

the balancing is horrible in the sense that there are effects that are about 100x times more powerful than others, i.e. stacking aoe spells on top of each other and every cast adds another 10 ticks with the equivalent power of a single target spell and at some point you got like 20 of them ticking at the same time and each can have an area of effect of like 100m or so, or the physics effects that drop objects that do incalculable amounts of damage from just slightly grazing a target
that's not even talking about the opposite side of kek grade spells

also, after combining each damage and effect, you will have quickly seen it all, sorted out the useful from the non useful and at that point it's just like any other magic system

so no, it's an unnecessarily complex system that doesn't add much and instead wasted resources from a game that is notorious for having what is essentially an unfinished tiny world

What makes the magic system so great besides what anon here mentioned critically about the scaling of effects?
>>

It basically gives you the tools to program your own spells.
>>
>>3988782
It really does.

I bought it on Steam to replay it but it looks like the multiplayer doesn't work anymore which is a bummer.
