Any healer that can also restore MP is busted. Raja too, but Atraxia being a skill means he's more balanced than this fucker. Way better character, though
>>3994640 >overpowered RPG the Dragonballz RPG for SNES. if you meant mechanically, any of the good mages in FFVI. the mecs in SaGa Frontier, SaGa 2 and SaGa 3 remake. >>3994712 Knight class in Tactics Ogre:KoL for GBA. most Paladin/cleric classes in most games.
Hmmm.... >Choko from Arc the Lad Is a bitch to obtain, but once you've got her it's easy street. Also has an even more busted transformation via sidequests
>Monk from Final Fantasy tactics Can heal HP/MP, and revive other units for free. As long as you have high Bravery you are set. You combine that with a ninja's dual wield and you've got a force to be reckoned with
>Gau On stray cat, oh boy
>Robo in Chrono Trigger Give him every magic tab and speed tab in the game. He will carry you.
>Sprigg on Lagoonate in Chrono Trigger Cast eagle eye on her and the damage will help you out for awhile.
>>3994646 You're supposed to be powerful by the time the game ends, anon. That combo is weak for most of the playthrough, though. Fig/Mag multi is better the entire way through and ends up just as strong.
If you level your scrubs and get lucky with stat gains throughout the entire game up to that point, you might end up with 1 party member that's almost as good as him at his starting level
>doublecast >autorevive spell >mana is fully restored on revive Quite literally impossible to lose aside from the extremely rare enemy that can remove buffs.
>>3994845 nope. it's strong as hell, all the way through. it bypasses the early part of mage being limited entirely. fighter/mage just splits your xp and drags on.
>>3994834 Sprigg was so fucking bullshit, completely broke everything until the final dungeon and was insanely far ahead of everyone else in the midgame. I don't know how people keep overlooking her.
>>3994984 Sprigg is necessary because you start the Lynx arc with 2 dark characters and extremely limited character selection: her being a morph character lets her fill in all niches but yeah Lagoonate rapes until Terra Tower
>>3995012 balance is irrelevant outside of competition or challenge. a 2 meter man isn't much better than a 1.5 meter man when the hurdle is 10 cm tall.
In Breath of Fire 3, I ignored Peco all throughout my youth because he was a literal mutant onion and not cool at all. He didn't seem to gain any real spells and the main character and Garr out damaged him physically, so he was always warming the bench.
It wasn't until decades later on a replay I decided to properly take advantage of the master system and found out he was a complete monster. Higher HP, Defense, and Attack than Garr and constantly regens HP passively on his own, plus he starts at level 1 and you can apprentice him to a master to really pump his stats even further. It's impossible for him to die and he out damages everyone else in the entire game except for Ryu in his ultimate dragon form.
>>3995340 This. I actually did use him with the Fahl mentorship my first play through because I hated missing shit. He was pretty beastly, using him was even better than the endgame momo warcry, Rei transformation strategy.
>Peco all throughout my youth because he was a literal mutant onion WTF, I used him because he was another cool plant person like Spar
>>3994640 Maybe the Nerevarine. Among stuff that was ostensibly balanced, 3e clerics are also bizarre. >>3994834 >feeding Robo I thought this might be the case but never tried it. I just wish Marle was better somehow; Life 2 would only be good if the game was harder.
>>3995380 >I thought this might be the case but never tried it. Despite Spekkio's claims, Robo's laser is the only dark element you'll have till Magus joins.. He's the only one who has a spread healing and his final skill electrocute is magic based as well.
> Marle The problem was that she had no ultimate move.
>>3995380 >Life 2 would only be good if the game was harder. like many rpgs, you can push, avoid fighting unnecessary battles and gaining unnecesasry levels. Anyway Chrono+Robo+Marle is a very hard-to-kill party due to the Life3 triple tech and abundant healing options. Haste is great and Ice Tackle makes up for Marle's lack of physical power. Biggest downside is that Marle's best AoE damage option is Ice-2.
>>3994845 >That combo is weak for most of the playthrough, though. It really isn't. You start the game as the strongest, and end the game as the strongest. There's a brief part where you are a weak link in the party in the early(but not start) of bg2, but since you level so fast through scrolls it's really not that long. >and ends up just as strong. Not at all.
You very quickly become a better fighter and a much better mage than a fighter/mage as a fighter>mage dual class. You don't need many fighter levels to get most of the potential of a fighter, and higher levels require more experience, so a dual class can put a fraction of the xp into the first class and then they're essentially a single class on top of that first class. To get level 9 spells, a fighter/mage multiclass needs 6 million experience. Fresh ToB character starts with 2.5 million experience, but you can get to like 3 to 3.5 million experience at the start of ToB if you do a lot of stuff in SoA. The total xp cap in ToB is at 8 million experience and you'll finish way earlier than that. In comparison, the level 9 berseker to mage dual will have level 9 spells at 3.25 million experience, very doable before the end of SoA.
>>3994693 to do that you need to >reach WoR >do all the stuff to get the airship back >get gau back >go through owzer's mansion and fight the flower painting >cycle through veldt encounters until you find the right enemy (this could take hours if you've encountered many enemies already and you're subject to rng with which formations it gives you, requiring you to track and savescum the encounters) or you can just have celes press ice 3 and have the game beaten well before gau is even set up to go
Gau is lame and weird and I don't think I ever used him once in any FF6 playthroughs. What's next, using goofy shit like Relm and Seltzer? >inb4 but they're akshually OP and broken and you must use them Who gives a shit, I like cool and fun party members instead
>>3996104 You could have listed your reasons why in the OP, maybe in an indirect, metaphorical way if you really don't want to spoil the beans. Otherwise this is just another /v/ engagement bait thread with vague points.
>>3995990 >martial artists are stronger in SF1 if you meant DSC, it's a gamble. and only 1 woman can learn it quickly. high WP cost but the damage is quite random much like the Tower spell which suck up all your JP, and the Shoot-All mec tech which shoots all your guns until you run out of ammo.
with SF1 mecs you can easily max out any of their stats with the right equips. Pluralslash with most endgame swords is super efficient at 5 WP cost and self-combos. and almost all the mecs/body-types can learn it quickly.
>>3995848 I think a lot of people who love F/M to the point of calling it equivalent are playing with content mods and XP uncappers, so they don't understand the base game scaling and how different the magic user leveling curve is from any other class.
>>3995340 >>3995340 Even if you don't want to use him, he still always had a niche as being an easy way to grab powerful shit from masters you didn't want anyone to use. It only takes a couple fights to get whatever with him since he starts at level 1. For example, using him to grab the spell that 1 shots undead, so you don't have to deal with the zombie dragon boss post timeskip.
