Companies with long standing franchises should make side rpgs with lower budgets for fun and to give more life to the characters. An overwatch rpg or a sonic rpg would be interesting concepts, plus the combat systems are practically built for them with games like dragon quest existing. It baffles me that they dont do things like this.

Literally this, it makes sense to me that a development studio with 500-1500 members cant spare 20 members to just work on a side game on their own time as long as they have something to show at monthly meetings. I have known tranny indie devs who can put together full third person shooter demos in a month, so why couldnt a team at sega or ea shit together a low budget rpg based on their big franchises? Truly makes no sense
