Well did anyone here play this enough to recommend it or warn against it? Looks mildly interesting.
I'm currently waiting for Nova Patria to release but that game doesn't really have anything to do with Rome outside the game description.

It's better than their previous game in that the water mechanics/gods make things more interesting, but the studio didn't develop K&C all that much while it was in early access, which doesn't bode well for this one. It's good though, enjoying it so far

Just played about an hours worth. First impressions are that it reminds me of Timberborn in the sense that it's a sandbox and I'm just building a city for the sake of building a city.
Doesn't really feel like there's an real objective. Could do with a campaign or something, like Lysara or Emperor ROTMK.
The requests from the gods are pretty much just a pseudo-tutorial. "Reach a population of 20" ok mr jupiter. "Build 10 walls" ok mr mars.
That said, its still pretty comfy. The building systems are cool. Would recommend.

I mean it doesn't take days and days to complete the tech tree, but the length is satisfying enough for this type of game. It's far less complex/deep than something like Anno 117, but really it's a chill builder to unwind to, and while I'd like more content from it, I reckon I'll get a good 20-30 hours out of it until it becomes stale
