so this game just released in open early access, they had a closed beta before
I had it on my wishlist for a while, I didn't expect that the game will be so focused on economy and selling what you mine on the planets, at first I tried building mines on Earth but apparently when you mine stuff there you have to pay for it while mining stuff from planets and asteroids is free, I also keep forgetting about taking fuel for the return trip so I've got 5 guys stuck on Callisto with enough supplies to live a couple of decades
generally it's pretty fun, I played it for 9 hours straight but I have to go to sleep now because sadly I have a job

>mined out all fuel on Earth
>build water ice extractors so I can refine it into fuel
>after a while I notice that habitability of Earth has fallen
>I have turned 1/4th of Earths water into fuel

it is very playable, the game starts in 2020 and I'm currently at year 2415, have colonies on the Moon, Mars, Titan and I'm planning to create one on Pluto just for giggles since I've reached the fusion ships so I can get there relatively fast
Terraforming takes some time and you need to build a shitload of facilities to do it, I researched interstellar travel already but the ship components require so much stuff that I'm not even close to building it

>orbital mechanics
Unfortunately its very abstract. Each planet has an "orbit" location you can send a spacecraft to, in addition to the planet's surface. There is a porkchop plot to plan interplanetary transfers and gravity assists, though it's very cumbersome to use. It seems to be more focused on the logistics and resource management part of space colonization

From my game:
>Ui is cumbersome, too many click to start a mission
>Building a base on the moon mean a lot of click just to move the material up there
>Research is a little flat.
Will check it again in one year.

not really, it just released and I have 25 hours in it already
I'm waiting for them to fix the Atlas ships since they are bugged, never reaching their destination when you send them on a mission

Those devs have a really bad and long update cycle, you might be waiting for a very long time. Infection Free Zone still sucks, and its been years in EA. Honestly, those guys are ambitious, but they lack skills, competence and work ethic.

Yeah, it's very tedious and annoying having to deal with the shitty UI, especially when you have to start managing colonies on both Mars and the Moon. I've seen supporters in the Discord who got early access to the game months ago say that bugs they've reported back then are still present in the game now. A shame because as far as I know, there's no other game that's about hard sci-fi space colonization on this scale. The closest would be heavily modded KSP.

well, that's that i guess. seemed like a game i could really get into but it takes like 15 minutes to realize it desperately needs logistic routes. cyclical missions are almost useless in their current implementation, and if i can expect it to take years for them to fix something this critical, it's over
