It's tough to be the Terran in TvP, they have to read the Protoss perfectly in build, timing, army placement and army size in order to counter the Protoss. Get any one of those wrong and you're completely screwed since Protoss typically has the supply and econ advantage and the Terran's main source of superiority is hoping the Protoss attacks a prepared siege line with dragoons in front while tricking in zealots from behind (it's crazy how often this happens).

Note: if there is any truth at all to Jaedong getting better, it has to do with his acceptance of modern ZvT builds. Hydra-muta in the first game, and hydra-muta into hydra-queen in the second. Hydra-muta is technically an old build, pre-Savior, but wasn't brought back until the modern era (there might have been some attempts in 2011-2012).
