I know its old but I was checking what were some of Miyabi's most popular streams (he really did do great numbers sometimes, huh) and holy moly... I've never seen Ollie this happy lmfao. Miyabi does turn her into a blushing maiden huh.Imagine getting to collab with your kamioshi and getting to be pals with the Holo girls, she won so hard

Ruze is PISSED.
>Was already mad at Cover for a long time, hearing the news about JP was the final straw and made him so angry he seriously considered graduating (and he says it's still on the table)
>"Sometimes decisions are going to be made because there's too much red tape and too many fuckin' dumbass, bloated, useless pieces of management at the top that don't know what the fuck they're doing and should have no business running a company"
>"I've ignored a lot of bullshit from the company, and there's been many times I just gritted my teeth and turned the other cheek to insult and frankly, what I assume is act of sabotage."
>He's not quitting, but he doesn't see a future with Cover, he doesn't trust them to handle his fans support
>He sees this decision with JP as a step too far, "it is incompetence at its finest"
>"I told them when I had my meeting, and I'll tell them again, I don't know how you could fuck that up so bad. There's no possible way. The numbers don't make sense to me. Sounds like you did a bad job, I don't know how that's our fault."

Every Holo always has questioned management and not a small number has venting about them. The explanation of the last graduations is "disagreement with management" but in this specific case is the talent side the one that is wrong and is whining too much...
>>
>>111057407
He's worked a few, though nothing "important" I guess.
But let's be real dawg, over the past couple years it feels like the talents have been fucking clearing out largely citing "disagreements with management" or something to that effect. There's obviously some shitters up there that need a stoning.

my guy the entire company is literally just streaming video games
streaming in general is REALLY volatile and the very top streamers earn basically everything, building a company around DOZENS of streamers and regularly having events that are basically guaranteed to be a revenue loss (3d concerts) is stupid
i guess the covid buff wore off and money is actually a problem now

I don't think so, he likely just going to stream less and will become more active in the couple channel side, he said already that money isn't an issue for him anymore mostly because he never quit streaming and doing events in his other account, holostars was just a side gig then, but now it's not even that anymore.

Wouldn't be surprised Cover is spending all their money on "growth" projects and is overexpanding. Their financial reports love bragging about how many new employees they hire to a point that the company is well over 800+ people at this point. If holoearth ever fully releases, the layoffs that will inevitably come when the game isn't the insane live service masterclass they are banking on it being will probably be too late for them to correct course and at least a few more members will probably leave before they realize this. Not just the boys leaving, but some of the girls too. They probably started the gacha rhythm game because they knew holoearth would be a massive tank and they're hoping the gacha bucks will make up the losses since a gacha with the girls was one of the things people expected they'd do for years now.

New sf6 tournament with 3 stars announced
>>
>>111062997
I'd be surprised as they're constantly getting an influx of money. Unless they hired enough people and invested a ton in projects that made them go into debt (which would be really weird), and even then, they'd only need to wait a few months for their accounts to go back in the green.
No, I just think they want even more profit than they already get
>>
>>
>>
>>111062997
Cover’s always had pretty high expenses, so their margins end up way lower than you’d expect. COGS and SG&A eat up like 85% of their revenue, so they’re left with only around 11% margins. Feels pretty obvious to me that holostars are being sacrificed for holodreams, since live service games are a huge money sink and this shit is coming out in 4 months. It’s not a coincidence the downsizing is happening now.
Realistically speaking support here died in 2024 after the 5th ani live anyways, the issue isn't really the lack of support because there was none, the issue is that Cover is going out of their way to make sure that the guys can't make money here anymore, they just want them to leave.
>>
>>111065951
>holostars are being sacrificed for holodreams, since live service games are a huge money sink
The branch was already running with the most basic support. There was absolute no money there to cut to make into other expenses of the company. On top of they don't even taking money from them to their projects or merch. It's not like Cover themselves are the ones producing the merch.
>>
>>111066488
>It's not like Cover themselves are the ones producing the merch.
They are, nearly 50% of cover's revenue is eaten by cost of products sold, that means that half of what they make is used to pay the costs of making the product. Even digital goods have a cost of production, even if much lower, that's why voice packs are being discontinued.
>>
>>
>>111066965
Anon might be referring to the fact most of the merch was being made by movic and only sold through animate. You can tell the difference because the acrylic stands use the cheaper back printing but acrylic stands from the holoshop have the print sealed between the acrylic.
>>
>>111066965
If a company needs even to cut the minimal investment of the voice packs (that have always a good return) that company finances are a clusterfuck and their problems are more serious than a sole branch.
Face it, this is a typical japanese rarfuckery.
>>
>>111062997
With the current shitshow that's going around in the world, their costs probably sky rocketed to be fair. Being said they do a ton of useless shit projects. Like dodgers game, I really want to see the numbers on how much that helped garner an audience. We are talking oil and water level audience mixture. Most of those boomers wouldn't know how to click a link on web page let alone watch streams and send SC lmao
>>
>>111069953
>Like dodgers game
Professional baseball always have put those stunts to keep the audience engaged and sold mid season games.
Management being a certified shit show is the real culprit here, I can't imagine how 25-30% of the workforce of a company can only delivery those paltry results.
>>
>>
>>111070414
>25-30% of the workforce of a company can only delivery those paltry results.
Pretty easy to fuck up when none of your employees are trained. Financial report shows staff counts per quarter
>6/2021 - 170
>6/2022 - 373
>6/2023 - 455
>6/2024 - 570
>6/2025 - 738
If we're taking 2022 as the worst point for the company, it makes sense that staff was shit because the majority of them had been there for less than a year. Also, 3/2022 was at 300, meaning that the added 25% employees vs. 6/2022 were mostly fresh college grads with no work experience. Which made them useless. The rapid expansion likely meant that training and integration wasn't being done effectively. (On a side note, Metaverse was also a sizable 13% of the employees in 2022 vs 7% now. Very fair to shit on it as a company focus back then.)
>>
>>111074183
I would probably quit my job if I was forced in a situation where I needed to train another two bodies in top of my usual workload.
No wonder they have kept horrible practices like Holomems doing their own paperwork and redacting their own proposals. And ot course the "it can't be done" being the usual response.
>>
>>
>>111074798
Japan also does this weird thing where they'll shuffle employees across departments for shits and giggles, which is how you get the ghosting (Astel) or checking in to get "that's not my job anymore" as a response for not doing something (Axel). This seems to occur at the same time as the new grad hiring (April), which makes it all even more of a headache. Like you might have an entire team of trainees because some of the other people qualified to train others got shuffled to another department. The more you look at it, you really start to wonder how any talents gets things done, despite Cover messing up so badly at times. (Well, I guess no one in any branch really got anything done in 2022, looking back.)

I was just thinking
>Cover cuts them off
>Rikka writes a song in a less than 2 hour stream
>By next week it's mixed, arranged, and uploaded with an MV
>Turn my heads towards A.Scort, Laika, Chimeisho, etc
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>111074183
Also, financial reports are publically available if anyone wants to look: https://cover-corp.com/en/ir
"Presentation materials" is the best for an overview. Most recent: https://contents.xj-storage.jp/xcontents/AS05169/3dc5c23b/fed8/4e1b/83 90/7c71f67690ab/20260212151413733s.
The whole "is Stars making a profit?" question is moot because their primary focus is increasing their profit margins. Would still have been cut even if they were in the black. "Planning improvements to allocation rules and internal transaction rules in budget control" under "Initiatives to achieve Medium-Term Goals" meant that they were going to get cut as the lowest rung on the ladder. Also, the "Advancement in human capital" point (aka better management and Suzuki-kun answering his e-mails) is hilarious when the bar is set so low. Hooray, we have reached a bare minimum of competence now that everyone's had time to learn their jobs.
>>
>>111077657
To add: some of this is still Cover's fault for leaving money on the table. Biggest semi-recent blunder I can think of is how you couldn't easily get streaming access for the last concert outside of Japan. Their chats used to be primarily English; how stupid can you be NOT to offer streaming tickets to kaigainiki? Also, their branch level management seems especially incompetent compared to the others.
>>
>>111077466
>it might have done well especially if it was going to be a dance MV.
Damn, that would have been a great chance to jump on the TikTok style dance trend that the girls have been using for boosting their songs.
>>
>>111074183
They are addind at least 120 new people every years. That is a lot of manpower that doesn't seems to translate to how many things work. I can believe tha tin 2024 they already had 500 dudes and even the main branch started feel more pressured on their workload.
